If it were possible to give the Pilrig House more than 5 stars, we would. We have travelled, extensively throughout the world, renting houses and apartments, and have never been as pleased and impressed as we were with the accommodations and hosts as we were with the Pilrig House. The only negative is that we think that our future lodgings will pale in comparison to the Pilrig House. The apartment was spotlessly clean, furnished beautifully and fully equipped to meet every possible need. The location was perfect, too. It was outside of the city, in a park, and within walking distance to all of the main attractions in Edinburgh. A large supermarket and good restaurants are just a few blocks away. Debbie and Philip were warm, friendly and helpful. Philip offered to drive us to different places during our stay and had great stories to share about Edinburgh’s history.

We could list all of the supplies that were available in our apartment, but all we need to say is that it had every possible item anyone would ever need!

We loved our visit to Edinburgh and will always remember it as one of our best trips.

Not too bad, after all it was only one night. Happy new year to the staff.

Good location with a bus stop & supermarket within 2 minutes walking. Easy to get into old town or going to Leith beach. Only drawback to our stay was that our room, room 5, had its bathroom OUTSIDE the room. To access it, you walk out of the room, through the hallway, past room 4 & then enter your bathroom. Got annoying after the first night when I’m fumbling around in the middle of the night for the bathroom key.

All in all, good location, reasonable price.

The hotel stated that it has a 24-hour check-in counter, but after arriving at the hotel, ringing the bell and calling the staff could not contact the staff to enter the hotel.

Very terrible service from this hotel!!! We requested for cancellation but no response. Then we walked in but were told the cancellation had already been approved and would refund to us so that we cannot check in. But finally they went back on their word and did not refund!!! However, we very much appreciate the effort that Trip.com has made on negotiating with the hotel.
