You shouls choose this hostel, if you prefer a quaint vibe. I liked almost everything about this hostel. The staff were very welcoming and efficient whenever requested for a service. The rooms were clean. The location of the hostel is the best part. Just a minute walk to the Princes street and Leith street, and 5 min walk to the Christmas market. The shower and the washrooms area could be bit crampy, especially for a big or tall person. I'd hope better options for breakfast than just toast and cereals tbh. Having said that, I was very happy with my stay, and will recommend for solo travelers to Edinburgh.

We had a very warm welcome. Thank you for that Jade! We stayed three nights and it was perfect. Location is just the best. The beds were very comfy and we slept good. The place is very clean and you have all you need. The breakfast is very good and comes out handy.

Had such a great stay here!! Staff were super flexible about letting us leave our belongings there and using the kitchen area to make coffee before and after checking in/out. The staff were really lovely and always available to help. Felt really safe and welcomed :) would definitely stay again as it’s also in a great, really central location!

Welcoming staff, helpful and positive. Conveniently Opposite Waverley train station

Room smelled of alcohol and not well ventilated, was humid, but was busy due to New Year's Eve.

nice kitchen but crowded especially at morning breakfast. Get there before 8am to avoid the rush.

Shower rooms are very small, no space to dress, only about 40cm x 100cm. The shower itself was large enough about 90cm x 100cm. Only two small hand wash basins in a tight corner. Recommend to get into shower around 7am to avoid queues.

All the things are really great, definitely beyond my expectations given this price. Strongly recommended, I had great time here :) love the staff, kitchen, fast wifi!

Good experience

I stayed in a 6 person room, everything is clean and well constructed, a locker is available for your kit and locks are rentable for £3 if you forget yours.

Facilities are everything you could need and the kitchen is well equipped if you want to do some cooking

Staff are super friendly, always give any new arrivals a nice greeting/walk around and can't do enough to help with any issues!

For a hostel, it's everything you can ask for and a greet price and location! Will definitely be back next time I'm in the city

Liked · We went there for a night. The experience was very good since we didn't really use the toilets repeatedly. Beds were extremely comfortable and clean and room was cosy. Staff was friendly and cooperative.

Disliked · The toilet/shower area could have been bigger. The doors of the stalls were colliding with each other. The washbasins were tucked in a slanted corner, which did not leave much room to use those.

It’s okay but probably not suitable for families because the bed on the top is too high might be a bit dangerous but it’s alright if u want to find a cheap and convenient place to stay.

Lovely food, great atmosphere, sweet and sour chicken was delicious and good portion sizes for the price, had to wait a little while to order but it was very busy and we got time to practice to chopsticks. Very happy and full :)

Hot and sour soup was smelly, staff was not very kind nor attentive, and the food was waaay too overpriced. Had much better takeaway food for half the price. Go somewhere else in the area...

Disgustingly dirty which makes me doubt the hygiene of the kitchen. Needs a good deep cleaning or two. Waiters hardly speak english, are not helpful and that was established on at least 3 visits. Saving grace is the food which is delicious. Please train your staff and clean the hall!!!

Hmmmm! Very disappointing. Starter to share £7.80 each!! Minimum of two - consisted of per person 1 pork rib, 1 prawn toast, 1 spring roll, & 1 dim sum, oh & not forgetting the "crispy seaweed" . Not worth the price per head. Main course noodles were not cooked & very bland albeit with a taste a celery. Waiters didn't even ask if everything ok. As for the "owner", she was asleep behind the bar! Classy!!

One of the best for Dim Sum in Edinburgh. All the classics are there. I tried the lunch buffet one time out of curiosity, and it's good, but it's nothing compared to the dim sum entrees or the made to order a la carte dishes. Two can eat and be plenty satisfied for 25-35.

Nice and clean, good layout inside. Big letdown is the lack of a ramp for access. I know there are other Costa stores within the Waverley Mall but the street level one has lots of steps. I'm sure there used to be a ramp access but not anymore.

Nice coffee and quick bites.situated on the top floor of Waverley mall.
