Flamingo Motel Oxnard in Oxnard

If you check in online, the price is $90 + tax = $101 with $100 deposit and check in at 7 pm.
Never seen a hotel in my entire life where check in is that late.
If you check in in person, the price is $110+tax and you can check in at 3 pm,

So in essence, they are scamming consumers by charging 25% more than advertised, that is illegal and false advertising which is illegal in the State of California Under section 17500.5. (b). Specifically when the customer is already at the location.

the older grandma and grandpa in the front are the most rudest people I have met in my life. This place should be shut down or sold to the city for the homeless it is disgusting the rooms are dirty and they have a bad odor. DO NOT RECOMMEND COMING HERE…

Theydont pay back deposit they lie and say room was dirty and say they have pictures I said show me he did not they kept calling me an my daughter homeless his so-called women was rude they are crooks and the chairs had stains I will never go there again so if you want to lose $20 go there

Extremely rude owners, had reservation and upon arrival they tried to charge an extra $50 for my toddler staying in the same room with me. No pets or visitors at all and they watch everything you do!.. super uncomfotable! No working smoke detector in room, graffiti/tagging in bathroom, black mold in shower, fridge was too cold and froze all food and drinks within hours, stuffy room, not enough parking and homeless man living against building which backs up to an ally, no room cleaning service at all, and you have to practically beg for clean towels, also water gets way too hot it literally will burn you badly no joke, bed is as hard as a board, pillows are flat, Awful!! They don't care about you or your comfort here, all they want is your money.

I always read the reviews before renting a room. I travel a lot so I have a lot of experience in different motels. One thing I always do before renting a room is read the reviews. I was going to stay here but not after reading these reviews. Thank you...

Upon arriving to the room, I pulled down the bedspread and saw menstrual blood stained on the sheets.
I looked up to see the smoke detector missing, also live electrical wires hanging out of the walls. The room wasn't very clean. I went to the manager's office to complain. The manager came with me back to the room carrying a large stainless steel club. I pointed out my concerns, he told me to "get out", I started gathering my items he then yells "GET OUT NOW" and raised the club at me. I left to put my things in my car. He came to the passenger side of my car and asked me for the TV remote, which I didn't have. He threatened to break my passenger side window of my 2023 Corvette if I didn't give him the TV remote..
I told him that I didn't have it, and if he couldn't take the price of the remote from my credit card, to go ahead and break my window, I was already calling 911. I also told him that I wasn't going to pay for this/his service.
He paused, and I left.
For an $85.00 room, he charged me $168.20 with three separate charges !!

We paid $390 for two nights. No deposit taken. Found old Starbucks in the fridge. Stains everywhere. Nothing cleaned until we said something. Bed had other people's hair in it. On the pillow, under the main blanket. There's dust on the tables next to the mattress. TV quality is very pixelated. Toilet has mold around the rim. Food and drink stains on mattress and floors until we asked for the room to be cleaned again (if it was at all since the last guest. Dirty mirrors. Dust on everything. Our dated room. Horrible parking.
You would feel cleaner sleeping on the sidewalk...and you can take that last part to the bank.

I stayed in room 22. As soon as I walked in, all I could smell was cigarettes. It was so bad, I had to constantly spray air freshener in the room. The walls are dirty with holes and dents all over. The sheets look super old and felt dirty, they even had burnt holes in them from cigarettes. I paid almost $200 for a tiny 1 bedroom and that is way too overpriced for the condition that it was in. Although they have a nice sized TV, AC, a microwave, and a unecessarily full sized fridge, it was not worth the money I spent. The vagabond inn was much cheaper for how nice and big those rooms were, too bad it was turned into a homeless shelter due to covid. I'm never coming to the Flamingo motel again and I recommend you go elsewhere unless this place is your last resort.
