Beacon Motel in Long Beach

The owner/manager was rude, demeaning, weird and very unwelcoming. He kept putting the rule list paper in my face even after I confirmed agreement to rules multiple times. He spoke to me in a condescending, demeaning way. He made it seem like he didn't even want me at his hotel. Then harassed me again in the morning while I was outside about where I was going and when I would return even tho I had the room for two days.

The ice machine was broken, TV was broken, there was a one way parking lot with no room to turn around, and the room had graffiti in it on the shower curtain rod.

Only good thing was it was clean, no bugs etc

Beacon Motel this place is the most TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE !! Owner is rude and racist assumed where I’m from and attempted to refuse service and call the cops because of where I’m from. I honestly felt I was being discriminated in that moment. Owner was creepy said I could be his daughter and the phone booth size office was sketch. The owner knocked on the door told me to come out after I gave him my name for the reservation he asked for my ID and held on to it a about 5 minutes or more trying to argue and aggressive saying “ we take cash only and I need a $200 deposit that MIGHT be returned “. I asked why and I do not have any cash on me and the owner is very condescending and rude saying other people who come here don’t ask questions. Asking a question for clarification which I was trying to figure out however the policies are not clear with pre booking process. He even threatened to call the cops when I was trying to walk away from the property when he said I’ll give you a room at 130P. Very unwelcoming racist and not clear on communication with rules and deposits. I did not follow through with the reservation because I was so uncomfortable and went with a different place. Even though I may not get a refund. Please DO NOT stay here if you don’t want to be mistreated and scammed.

***WARNING*** DO NOT BOOK HERE!!! Booked my room over 6 MONTHS in advance and just got an email that they all the sudden can't accommodate us 5 DAYS before my trip. Now I am totally out a hotel for an event I planned almost a year ago and every hotel in the area is sold out. On top of that the man was rude on the phone. Do not trust this place if you want to be able to count on a place to stay.

Stay away from this place, if you have self respect don’t go there, once you arrive you go to the lobby you will smell like strong incense. The manager or older it’s rude and was acting weird.
We wanted to check in at 3pm you need to pay $40 extra, if you booked online $200 deposit.
Take too long to check in it’s a headache and finally they provide a contract they won’t let you read.

The rooms they look ok but not very clean and they rent the rooms to people that they look like home less

Dirty rooms. Had to sleep on a sleeping bag in the bed because I didn't want to touch the dirty mattress. Car hit the sign in the middle of the night. 0/10 would not stay here again

The check in is in a tiny room like a phone booth. He disappeared for several minutes with my ID and card, which worried me a little. The paper he made me sign also had extra writing in pen saying extra stuff and was folded so that the things typed where on the back. Ended up costing $90…

Then when we got into the room, it was so dirty. There was stuff stuck to the table and hair on the bed and pillowcases and the pillows were stained and there other dirt and crumbs on the bed. The iron and board is literally chained to the wall too. When we informed the manager, and that we did not intend to stay there after seeing the conditions, he did not take that very well. Especially for $90, I felt the room should be cleaner. He then argued with me that it was clean, while I watched him brush the hair and crumbs into the floor. If you have it within the budget, you can stay somewhere much nicer for just $10-15 more. As I was putting in my address for the hotel I bought after everything the owner got mad that I was in the parking spot while I looked it up and shewed us off. We ended up parking on the side street next to it before proceeding to our new stay.

Worth it to stay somewhere else. Definitely didn’t feel comfortable in the little time I was there.
