SpringHill Suites Lexington Near the University of Kentucky in Lexington

This hotel is really nice. The room is very clean and spacious. The people are super nice. It is within walking distance to a few restaurants and some fast food places like Cookout and Waffle House. The TV could have been a little larger since it's being shared technically by 2 rooms but yet all in all still nice. The continental breakfast has a plethora of hot food including eggs, potatoes, sausage and the 2 different kinds of waffles. The 1 waffle maker that makes the 4 little waffles and the one that has the large single waffle. All the food was well cooked and the housekeeping staff kept everything clean and tidy.

Location was great close by the airport and had the shuttle service to airport. Guest service agent checkin and for checkout were wonderful. Friendly .
Rooms on the other hand had much to be desired, in dire need of an upgrade...clean yes , our coffee table was broken and the cars parked in front of our wi dow so we had headlights in our windows when people drove in.
That aside was the only bad thing...

Clean, small pool (closed the first day of our stay), water pressure coming out of the bathroom sink would take the skin off your hand (not literally) but the shower was a slow pathetic rain.
Overall a nice place to stay and we would choose again.

Stayed here for two weeks and overall had a good experience. The staff were friendly and helpful and offered great local food recommendations. Room service was consistently solid, and the laundry facilities worked perfectly (which is often hard to find at a hotel these days), plus, the front desk provided detergent, which was a nice convenience.

The neighborhood itself is a bit rough around the edges IMO. It’s not right downtown downtown, and I’d advise being cautious when walking around, especially at night. There were frequent sirens and helicopters during my stay, which gives you an idea of the area. If you’re curious, check the Lexington, KY Community Crime Map to get a sense of what’s been happening nearby.

There are definitely worse areas to stay in Lexington, and inside the hotel felt safe and comfortable. Starbucks is located right across the street, though oddly enough it takes about 12 minutes to get there because of the blocked center line and awkward traffic lights.

All in all, the hotel itself is well run and pleasant just be aware of your surroundings outside.
