Had a wonderful stay at Marriott! The room was spotless and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Everything made our stay relaxing and enjoyable!
The property was beautifully decorated for the holidays and was very nice. Staff went above and beyond for us!!
The Staff went above and beyond for us. My husband had surgery and we had to stay close by for 2 nights. After getting him back to the property they got him a wheelchair and checked on us!!! Do caring and thoughtful.
The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the room was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Staff at check in was amazing. I believe God name was Noah (?)... Our initial reason for coming to Charleston was for a show at a local venue. The venue canceled at the last minute, so we came with no plans. No problem! Noah, at check in, gave me 3 or 4 options... one being Charleston Christmas Light show... and it made for a fantastic evening and weekend!
Excellent hotel we were in room 925. When the AC or heat came on the vent rattled making a loud noise. Heavy rust covers the door hinges to the bathroom which is not normal for a Marriott property.

The space was very nice and the rooms were very well maintained. Turn down service was kind of all over the place.. not a constant time, not sure if it's short staffing or why that is. Some days it was 1pmish and others were 6pm. Breakfast was good every morning except when they put the turkey bacon out. It was over cooked and I over heard a few people say they could eat breakfast cause it made them...
We stayed four nights over New Year’s Eve with our family and had a great experience. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the location in the Historic District is super convenient for walking to restaurants and attractions. The kids enjoyed the pool, though the water was a bit cold. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
To begin with the location is wonderful. Near shops, restaurants all within walking distance. The staff at the hotel were all very warm and friendly. The room was average but you do get what you pay for. I would stay there again.
Nice room, great central location but it was cold while we were there and we could have used a warm blanket on the bed.
Everything! The hotel was going through construction but i could barely tell. The staff adjusted to changes and made me as a guest adapt to the many changes. I stayed there for 10 days and I loved it all! The indoor pool was my main draw since my grand daughters visited often. The breakfast was always hot & plentiful and clean. The staff kept it clean and filled! I must say, staff was a little chintzy...
The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. We had a wonderful stay. The front desk fulfilled all our requests for additional towels, pillows, and housekeeping. The only problem was the breakfast buffet. All the food tasted frozen and artificial omelettes. We were very disappointed with the food choices. But if you’re looking for a reasonably priced hotel with an excellent location, then this...

Clean and close to the medical center. The bar has a small menu but both items we got were very good.
We love this hotel. Kelly and Heather at the bar were awesome! Keep this place the same.
I lived the room and the staff. However the room nect to mine had two vey loud people. Beati g and banging and laughing until after 2 am both night. I was there for a class ans was exhausted becuase of them waking me up all night.
1 night stay
I had a one night stay with my 8 y/o a we were flying home to lax the next morning. Check in was quick but no amenities were discussed with me, I had to wonder off to find the pool entrance for my daughter to swim. The next morning I asked about the shuttle to the airport and the person at the front desk told me next shuttle was In 15 mins to just wait out in front. The shuttle never came...
Rough start, strong finish.
Booked a corner room- there are no corner rooms at the Marriott we stayed at- went to room AC broke. Front desk moved us to a higher room and comped us the 24 hr. lounge. Appreciated her attempt to make things right.
Room was clean and modern
The bar and food service was great. The gym has a good selection of equipment, was very clean, and even smelled good. Pool area is nice as well.

This classic hotel is right in the middle of town - perfect walking distance to multiple points of interest including Ft.Sumpter Ferry , the Aquarium , Sunset cruise , walking tours , the Charleston Market and scads of great restaurants . Our room was comfortable and clean with complementary water bottles replenished daily in addition to the usual tea/coffee . The front desk and valet service were...
The elegance of this hotel has an old-world feel, which seems to pull you back in time to an era where men and women would dress up for every occasion. The craftsmanship and finishes of this building will have you in awe. The people who work here are all friendly and willing to help. This is a little on the pricey side, but we'll be worth the cost.
I had a decent stay at the Francis Marion Hotel — a beautiful historic property right in the heart of downtown Charleston. The location is unbeatable, with King Street shopping, restaurants, and historic sites just steps away. The lobby is elegant and charming, and the staff were consistently friendly and professional. My room had a classic feel with modern touches, and the views of the city were fantastic...
The staff is friendly and courteous. The rooms are clean and pretty. I love that Starbucks is practically in the hotel.
We absolutely loved our stay this past weekend. The texting feature before check-in was very convenient as they asked the time of arrival to assure our room was ready - which it was. Staff was very friendly! The rooms are very nice. Bathroom is small, but considering this hotel was built in the early 1900s, I appreciate the fact they’re preserving the history of this place. Beds were super comfy and...
This is the hotel I was most dissatisfied with during this trip. Apart from its good location, there is nothing else to recommend, except that the white guy who helped with parking was very responsible. Before leaving, I went to find him and gave him a tip to express my gratitude.

My daughter and I had a great stay. We will definitely stay there again in the future.
The front desk and valet staff were great. Efficient, professional and personable.
Room was great but the staff really stood out. So pleasant and helpful. Everyone from valet to front desk to maintenance were just phenomenal and led to a really lovely first visit to Charleston
Everyone was so kind and accommodating. Bistro/Starbucks staff were kind and helpful. The only thing I wish I had known was there is no parking onsite. Valet is an option though. I would 100% return again.
Unique & cozy ambiance.Stylish & clean room. Check in & parking staff very friendly.
Was a complete great experience from valet to check out. Was best stay for is out of MANY stays in hotels across country.

I recently stayed at the Charleston Riverview hotel and had a great stay. The hotel is close to everything, the staff was great including the night agent Darrel. The restaurant has good food with a great view and overall reasonable cost. Definitely worth exploring in you plan to visit.
Tiasha was very patient and attentive at the front desk! I had no phone in my room and when I showed frustration to her she was very kind and patient to accommodate a late check out and understand why I felt the way I did. The location is good and there's enough parking. I also had a large room and was happy with my stay here.
Old hotel, stayed here in the 70's. Room was smallish but nice. Sink area and toilet only had one switch so you lit up the whole room when you had to make a late night visit. Bed was decent. View was fabulous. Paid an additional $9 for it. Bar closes at 9 PM. What i really liked was the fact that they don't play games with the pricing. One rate, no prepayment, non cancelable, resort fees,...
Shuttle bus was great and staff very helpful. Restaurant food excellent.
They offer a great breakfast buffet or you can order off a menu. Servers are very friendly and do a great job. We feel John and Joe go out of their way to make us feel welcomed and happy. Definitely worth a try!
Always extremely clean! We had breakfast added to our room price. The buffet was very good. Enough variety for someone who has picky tastes . It’s very relaxing to sit at any window and look out across and see the old “Cooper River Bridge”, which I ran once and Fort Sumter.

The room was very clean and quiet! The desk clerk who checked us in was awesome!
The staff member checking in was EXCELLENT. The room was noisy throughout the night and we heard numerous doors slam that woke us up. It was also a bit cold in the room. Room was clean. We didn’t sleep very well.
Heating unit noisy, restaurant was closed because low occupancy, remodeling in hotel was noisy in mornings and night.
1 of the queen beds seemed to have a bit of a support issue on the left side in room 328. Bed might have even been a bit sloped down on that side. Ordered a full egg breakfast with eggs over easy. Eggs were raw on top and yolk was cooked on bottom. Told the server they were not right and he said "that's how over easy are supposed to be". Actually, over easy done right means no ra white on tip and yolks...
Bedroom was clean and had beautiful sunset over the Ashley River. Rocking chairs on balcony were wonderful. Shuttle drivers were great and easy to work with. Definitely recommend and will stay there again.
The chef that cooked breakfast is outstanding. amazing food, very kind, excellent service. The women who worked at the cafe/bar were also outstanding.

Loved the heated pool and outdoor area. Great food options. Beautiful property. Clean rooms
The staff was kind and accommodating. I enjoyed the amenities and the convenient location. The food at the bar/restaurant was well cooked and I also enjoyed how clean the hotel was. The pool area is beautiful. Will definitely come back. Susie at the front desk displayed exceptional customer service and hospitality.
THIS WILL NOW BE OUT 'GO TO' HOTEL WHEN WE VISIT CHARLESTON. GREAT ROOMS AND FAIR PRICES.
This hotel was fantastic. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful but restaurant really surprised me! Breakfast was very good and their flatbreads were outstanding, beyond what I am used to for a hotel. The heated pool was perfect to enjoy during the cooler winter temps and everything was spotless. I definitely recommend stay here!
Suzi and Nicoll ( front desk staff) were amazing and helped accommodate us with an early check-in just in time for a relative's wedding. The front staff was cordial not over friendly. The room was spacious. The closet was not really usable at all. Not a great location for it. The vent/light switch for the bathroom was very loud. Check in and out are very smooth and quick. We love the breakfast and the proximity that the hotel has to the airport, shops, restaurants, etc. Will stay again!
LOVED our stay! Room was spacious and clean and no weird musty smell like some hotels! Carpet was clean and didn't turn our socks black. Room has damages to the bathroom door like the bottom of the door was rotten. The lobby was freezing cold like the AC was on and it was cold outside. Room did not heat efficiently.
Bottom line is they are under staffed. Printed signs all over the place stating elevator not working, bathrooms not working. This hotel needs a major upgrade. The nice wood floors in my room were filthy. Staff was friendly. Obviously poor management of the property. A real shame
The building is Extremely outdated. Turns out, the locals call it "The trash can". The outside is littered with cigarette butts. All over. The first morning we were there, part of the lobby ceiling caved in. The front door was broken. No ice in the ice machines. We did have a large room. Old and ratty, It was subpar at best. It was also conveniently located between meeting rooms where setup makes all...
The location of the hotel is close to downtown, and it is convenient to park the car there (free parking) and take the shuttle bus to downtown. The hotel itself has a unique cylinder like structure, and my room has an view of the river. Room is relatively clean, but you can see the ages of the hotel. Staffs are pretty friendly.
Enjoyed the rooftop restaurant and bar, we chose to go there each evening instead of going elsewhere. The shuttle to the City Market was VERY convenient and made it so much easier for us to sightsee. The desk staff, driver, and all other staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely return to this location the next time we plan to visit Charleston.
Room was clean but bathroom was tired and sink faucet very hard to turn on. We also were given the shuttle hours and were not informed that they were not running Sunday evening leading to a long wait and $20 taxi bill

Came in and had a few questions about the area. The front desk agent Avianna was very pleasant and was able to answer all of my questions and was also very humorous! One of the best experiences I’ve had in years with a hotel desk agent. I will be visiting soon! My wife and I had a great time! Enjoyed the all day coffee
For any fellow travelers reading this review at the top of the "Recent" or "High to Low," filtered lists, the first thing you need to know is the renovations are more or less complete and the ribbon-cutting ceremony should be taking place any day now. Marriott Bonvoy members rejoice, this is the newest member of the Fairfield fleet, one that will no doubt have a bright future in Charleston. My thanks...
It is under construction for renovation so .... not shiny and new yet. Breakfast is just granolas bars, yogurt and fruit. I'm on the top floor so I haven't noticed any noise ...and the door is unbelievably heavy and blocks noise. The room is standard enough and the mattress and pillows were comfortable. The platform bed is stupid. I like to sit up in bed with pillows but if I wiggle to get comfortable...
Great stay! The staff was friendly and helpful. I would give a 5 star rating but there was no TV or wifi for most of the evening and night and the only answer we received was it will be on within the hour, other than that and I am sure it doesn't happen often this place is great
Good clean room, very comfortable bed I wanted to stay a sleep and nice staff. We checked in on April Fools Day and the lady at the reception desk got us good I still remember her name. We all had a good laugh. You get a real breakfast that was yummy. Plus we spoke to other travelers and they were nice. Parking is tight though you have to park in the overflow next door. Pretty fountain with lights...
Very nice hotel, staff was very accommodating, breakfast area is very, very busy but they have multiple employees on hand to help serve everyone. It’s breakfast is really good, but it is not free like advertised. It’s $10 for Continental and $20 if you want any protein.
The room was cleaned. The front desk clerks were friendly and the shuttle drivers were very good. I left my phone in the shuttle and the driver made sure to bring it back to the front desk.
Room was clean , beds were comfortable & staff was very friendly.. the shuttle to the airport was also very helpful
Standout hotel breakfast, believe it or not. In addition to the usual less expensive fruit offerings, blackberries and cut strawberries were a great surprise. The entire staff was very friendly. Front desk, maintenance guy, hostess, to shuttle driver.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were updated and clean. I wasn’t a fan of the shape of the bathtub. Standing for a shower almost gave me vertigo. I felt like I was falling.
The front desk, Najaiah, was warm, welcoming and a real pleasure to meet at the end of a long tiring trip. Give her a raise!

Excellent hotel stay with family located in a very convenient location to explore Charleston downtown and nearby Folly Beach. Didn’t spend a lot of time in room. It was fine. Just not as tidy as I would prefer. A little mold near the bathroom vent. Didn’t smell great. But served its purpose.
Otherwise quiet, friendly staff, and convenient location
We had an excellent stay. The room was outstanding and the breakfast buffet exceeded expectations. Special kudos to the front desk staff, particularly Heather. We'll be back when we visit Charleston again. Thank you.
Room was very clean. Breakfast was very good. Staff was friendly and kind. We forgot something in the closet and they called us to let us know and then shipped it to us. We were very pleased.
Place is undergoing some renovation. Unfortunately the renovation efforts seemed to be an avenue for some pretty slack service. Called desk when heat would not work with an overnight temperature forecast to drop to 20. Woman at desk respindr was that it works because that room had been renovated. Not an absolute by any means
Rooms never cleaned after check in, one towel was changed out olafter the first night. Nothing for the next 2 nights.

A very beautiful place all together a first class hotel with incredibly appointed rooms. Safety measures were apparent on the elevators so floor to floor travel required a room key.

An average house, with almost no amenities nearby. It's quite a suburban area, so if you're not driving or renting a car, make sure to bring your own food, drinks, and toiletries before checking in.
My hubby and I did a two night stay for a pre-Christmas celebration and shopping. We were greeted by the friendliest staff and our room was a large king suite with a beautiful view. Super clean. Great value for a nice hotel in a convenient location. Check in staff was courteous and professional. Pet friendly, late free breakfast and late check out. Love this hotel!
Room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed for a few days. Having the kitchenette was convenient for leftover food. Breakfast each morning was excellent with lots of choices. Staff very friendly. Pet friendly hotel with dog walking area. Location excellent for a quick drive downtown. I highly recommend.
It was a good stay. We've stayed here for years. Looking a bit worn. They need to do some upgrades very soon

This was our first time, staying at this property. The first room had a heavy smell of cigarette smoke. That wasn’t the property’s fault, but they made it right. The second room was great.
