Francis Marion Hotel, Charleston1 / 50Good price
8.6
Charleston, 387 King Street (in the centre) 🧭 Map
The elegance of this hotel has an old-world feel, which seems to pull you back in time to an era where men and women would dress up for every occasion. The craftsmanship and finishes of this building will have you in awe. The people who work here are all friendly and willing to help. This is a little on the pricey side, but we'll be worth the cost.
I had a decent stay at the Francis Marion Hotel — a beautiful historic property right in the heart of downtown Charleston. The location is unbeatable, with King Street shopping, restaurants, and historic sites just steps away. The lobby is elegant and charming, and the staff were consistently friendly and professional. My room had a classic feel with modern touches, and the views of the city were fantastic...
The staff is friendly and courteous. The rooms are clean and pretty. I love that Starbucks is practically in the hotel.
We absolutely loved our stay this past weekend. The texting feature before check-in was very convenient as they asked the time of arrival to assure our room was ready - which it was. Staff was very friendly! The rooms are very nice. Bathroom is small, but considering this hotel was built in the early 1900s, I appreciate the fact they’re preserving the history of this place. Beds were super comfy and...
This is the hotel I was most dissatisfied with during this trip. Apart from its good location, there is nothing else to recommend, except that the white guy who helped with parking was very responsible. Before leaving, I went to find him and gave him a tip to express my gratitude.
Great location, parking is quite reasonable for $20/day with multiple entry card

Mills House, Curio Collection by Hilton, Charleston1 / 25
9.2
Charleston, 115 Meeting Street (in the centre) 🧭 Map
The beds were so comfortable and they come with a fridge which is nice for storing beverages. Each floor has a water and ice refill station. The pool chairs are comfy. The only thing I would say is that the pool food menu could use a little work. I would stay here again. Gorgeous lobby and great location.
Right in the heart of downtown, Mills house sticks out beautifully. The color of the hotel is to be adored, along with the details of art and history on the inside. The rooftop bar is large and has great views. Staff was amazing and friendly, valet was awesome and more than likely needed in the area. Will stay again!
Picture-perfect (inside and out) hotel in the heart of downtown Charleston, South Carolina in the heart of the French Quarter. Perfect for first-time travelers those on business and more. This location is in the heart of downtown Charleston and within walking distance from King Street with great shopping and restaurants galore. As soon as I checked in, I was immediately greeted by their friendly...
The room is very clean. There is a cafe on the first floor of the hotel. The coffee is delicious. There is a very delicious restaurant called Husk next to the hotel.
The hotel is really beautiful. I love that it's a historic build and is close to everything in Downtown Charleston. Housekeeping is wonderful. Usually you have to put the towels on the ground for them to change them out at Hilton properties but this one I didn't even have to do that. It was a pleasant surprise when I got back to the room. The lobby of this hotel is warm and welcoming, but trendy. The...
A very large & spacious hotel (8 stories) in the heart of downtown Charleston, very near to tons of shopping & restaurants. I had read some reviews about the staff concentrating on the large wedding/catering/business meeting events, but that was not the case on our weekend. Everyone was very attentive, greeted you with a " how is everything going, is there anything I can do for you" attitude. Our...

Charleston, 19 Vendue Range and 26 Vendue Range (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Disappointment We had a reservation for a King in the Enclave. With VIP access it should have included a complimentary bottle of wine, late check out, etc. We we arrived we were directed to the Vendue building for check in saying our room had been moved. Why ?? Could this be a result of a 3rd party booking? -- AND the fact evelavtor in the main building was out of service during our entire stay. ...
Mini vacation Lobby is beautiful and artwork is creative and funky. Rooftop bar was nice, bartender was great and food was good. The room well nice did have a musty smell to it and cleanliness was subpar.
Location, location, location. That’s really all that was noteworthy. We were not impressed with the overall cleanliness which was lacking especially in the bathroom. Expected more given the cost and will likely not return.
Fantastic service, very accommodating staff. Our room did not have a window, which I preferred since it minimized street noise and I wasn’t woken up by the sun.
Wonderful Staff The entire staff was tremendous. From the front desk to housekeeping everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel has a funky style and great location.
Perfect L The Vendue is perfectly located in the French Quarter. Everything from the park, water taxi, shops, food, market, King Street, etc. were all accessible by foot. Not to mention the Rooftop at the Vendue was one of the best rooftop views of all the restaurants we visited. The staff was friendly and the room was great. Will highly recommend to friends and family.

I really want to gate keep and not tell that this is my new favorite place to stay in Charleston when visiting but they really deserve the accolades. Our king balcony suite was perfect. We heard absolutely no outdoor noises so this building is incredibly well built and solid. The staff was accommodating, welcoming, and helpful- even texted to ask if they could help me with a driver etc since they knew...
We spent 4 nights last week celebrating a special event. We were very impressed with the French Quarter Inn and highly recommend it to other travelers. The service, ambience, room, food, location, etc. were all superb. We look forward to returning on a future visit to Charleston.
Exceptional Stay at the French Quarters Inn! We had an incredible experience at the French Quarters Inn in Charleston. From the moment we arrived, the customer service was outstanding. The concierge and front desk staff were friendly, accommodating, and made everything seamless. I planned a surprise birthday weekend for my fiancé, and the staff went above and beyond to help coordinate every detail...
Stayed here in August 2024 and had an absolutely amazing experience. The customer service here is top notch and it flowed through every single staff member there. They did everything they could to make our stay great. The breakfast that is included is phenomenal - not your typical basic breakfast. There were 4 or 5 different options and all were really good. It's a boutique hotel, so smaller and...
My wife and I absolutely loved our stay at this gem of a hotel! Nestled in a prime location, it's just steps away from a bustling market and a short, delightful stroll to incredible restaurants and shopping. The rooms are a true haven of comfort, ensuring a restful night's sleep even in the heart of the action. The staff goes above and beyond with their friendly and attentive service. One highlight...
Best hotel I've ever stayed at. Honestly they ruined me for what I expected from customer service. I wish this hotel staff worked in every hotel. Complimentary drinks and cheese when you walk in, a few foreign currency tips, and it makes for an exciting experience. Don't tip and you'll still get the best hotel entry you've ever had. Check-in is at the top of the stairs. I wish I could...

This place is a gem. The rooms are large and comfortable... and quiet! Daily breakfast to suit your requirements and the daily wine and cheese hour was such a luxurious addition. Their rooftop patio is a wonderful oasis. Friendly staff and convenient location. Loved this place!
Best hotel in my life. Enough Southern hospitality and more than enough European style. The place you want to return to..
We'll be back! Here, every employee took the guests' happiness seriously. No matter who we spoke to, everyone was so welcoming, friendly and caring. It was all perfect for us - we really couldn't imagine anything better. The room was also spotless and the location of the hotel was very convenient. It is next to the ocean and fountain; tons of good restaurants nearby (just make sure you...
This hotel has an ideal location. The rooms are very clean, well decorated and have great views. We looked out over the harbour. Don the valet/concierge was fantastic. Every morning the breakfast was wonderful, warm and served in the room. Don't hesitate because the construction is closest to the water. The noise is not a big deal and occurs very rarely. Would definitely stay here again if I return...
Perfect location, within walking distance of the market, authentic downtown Charleston restaurants such as Poogan’s porch and more. Fantastic. The HarborView inn has an amazing waterfront view of Charleston. The rooms are very spacious and elegant.
I meant to write this review back in July when I stayed but something just happened today that reminded me of writing this review. Everything about our stay at harbor view in was great, but the luggage boy Jackson was beyond amazing. Talk about southern hospitality, he was so kind and helpful with telling us things to do and directions and calling restaurants for us. He did so much more than just take...

I had an exceptional experience at The Planter Inn! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 The standout feature of my stay was undoubtedly the staff and the General Manager. Had a three day getaway in Charleston and couldn’t have stayed in a better location. Steps away from the best shopping and restaurants in Charleston. Valet the car and never needed it again. From start to finish, our experience at Planters Inn was exceptional, thanks to their outstanding communication and hospitality. We arrived early for a wedding and were thrilled that the staff accommodated us with an early check-in, allowing us plenty of time to prepare for the event. We loved everything about our stay at Planters Inn. A central location within walking distance to anything and everything you want to experience in downtown Charleston. Our room was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The service from the time you drive up until the time you leave is absolutely 5 star with every staff member we encountered. Loved the shower in bathroom Hospitality of staff was excellent Appreciated champagne at checkin Bed and linens were excellent Liked having TWO comfy chairs for reading and sitting Products(soap, lotion, etc) were good quality Thumbs up for providing recycle can Fun color schemes Location was excellent for walking to Spoleto events
Good location. Bold colored decor, somewhat over the top. Nice spacious bathroom. But it sounded loud and weird the when the air conditioning kicks in. As a light sleeper I would definitely avoid it next time.
Nice rooms and location is close to the city market. Valet parking is over priced... Our car was parked in the hot sun all day.
Really excellent service. Fourth floor restaurant with outdoor seating was nice - huge kudos for Spencer who recommended drinks that paired perfectly with my meal. I enjoyed the artwork throughout the hotel, and my room (even the scary eyed woman painting in the hallway - see the bathroom pic). The bathroom was impressive with a separate toilet closet, shower and huge soaking tub with peek-a-boo...
Lovely hotel. Unique decor. Friendly and attentive staff. Comfortable bed. Innovative cocktails at the rooftop bar. We enjoyed our stay.
It is a beautiful hotel. All staff was very nice. The room was clean, spacious and well decorated. I love the location because it's within walking distance of the Market and shopping on King Street. I can't give a 5 star rating because of two things. There was a loud clunking noise that happened about every 45 minutes that woke us up throughout the night. I discovered the next morning, that it came...

The bed and breakfast has a great location for this weekend get away. Close walking distance to everything and we didn’t have to use our vehicle at all. Donna was so efficient with making sure we had directions on arrival, the stay, and booking our dinner plans nightly, and helping to unload and load once leaving. The Master Suite was very accommodating and made the stay for our dog very inviting too...
This place was fantastic for my wife and I to celebrate our anniversary. Donna is a fantastic host, full of fantastic suggestions for things to do and places to eat. A great location, a 5-10 min walk from virtually anything down town. Parking garage 2 blocks away if you need to travel. Breakfast was delicious every day (can't say enough about the coffee), and the atmosphere eating in the veranda is...
The rooms were beautiful, very comfortable, and very clean. The host Donna was an absolute gem, she was one of the kindest people I've met. There is a lot of great things to say about this B&B. The breakfast was amazing, I am not the type to go outside of my comfort zone with foods but seeing how Mrs. Donna presented it I couldn't resist. She makes you feel almost like a princess, it feels like a tea...
Had a wonderful stay at 27 State Street. The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast everyday was delicious, and Donna was so helpful with recommendations of things to do, restaurants to go to, and even booked a walking tour for us. The location was wonderful - easy to walk everywhere and was very close to so many great restaurants and sites. I would highly recommend 27 State Street to anyone visiting...
This place is a gem! Great walking distance to everything in Charleston's French Quarter, delicious breakfast options, and a clean, comfy and quiet room. The best part of the stay was the manager Donna. She was one of the nicest people we've ever met and gave us plenty of recommendations and insights about the area.
We stayed for 2 nights in the State Room. The room is nice but very noisy. There is no insulation between the room and the street or the room and the courtyard, so you hear everything going on. The TV is too small for the room but it works and has all the cable channels you'd expect. The WiFi was disappointing. Of the 2 networks listed for guests to use, one had a good signal but wouldn't accept any...

The location was perfect. Right in the middle of shopping and restaurants. Easy walking distance to everything.
The location was fine. There were no meals or staff.
Have stayed twice now. If you have a larger family, more space and multiple bathrooms are needed. Well maintained and nicely equipped.
Location on King was great, so convenient to everything historic Charleston has to offer. We parked the car when we arrived and didn't use it again til departure. Everything was very walkable. We booked a 2 bedroom suite and the amount of space was unbelievable. Large open living area and kitchen with 2 comfortable bedrooms with en suite baths. Everything was clean and updated. Our only hiccup was...
Excellent location. Reasonable rates. Easy check in procedures
good place to stay. location is great. absence of elevator made it a bit difficult to get the luggage in and out of the unit. The unit itself was immaculately decorated and everything was very pleasantly clean.

Marion and Lori and their staff created a wonderful experience from the start. Communication is superb, their welcome, their service, their attention to detail, the hospitality was first class. 86 Cannon is perfect for a vacation in Charleston.
