The Staff went above and beyond for us. My husband had surgery and we had to stay close by for 2 nights. After getting him back to the property they got him a wheelchair and checked on us!!! Do caring and thoughtful.

Staff at check in was amazing. I believe God name was Noah (?)... Our initial reason for coming to Charleston was for a show at a local venue. The venue canceled at the last minute, so we came with no plans. No problem! Noah, at check in, gave me 3 or 4 options... one being Charleston Christmas Light show... and it made for a fantastic evening and weekend!

Excellent hotel we were in room 925. When the AC or heat came on the vent rattled making a loud noise. Heavy rust covers the door hinges to the bathroom which is not normal for a Marriott property.

The space was very nice and the rooms were very well maintained. Turn down service was kind of all over the place.. not a constant time, not sure if it's short staffing or why that is. Some days it was 1pmish and others were 6pm. Breakfast was good every morning except when they put the turkey bacon out. It was over cooked and I over heard a few people say they could eat breakfast cause it made them...

We stayed four nights over New Year’s Eve with our family and had a great experience. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the location in the Historic District is super convenient for walking to restaurants and attractions. The kids enjoyed the pool, though the water was a bit cold. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

To begin with the location is wonderful. Near shops, restaurants all within walking distance. The staff at the hotel were all very warm and friendly. The room was average but you do get what you pay for. I would stay there again.

Nice room, great central location but it was cold while we were there and we could have used a warm blanket on the bed.

I lived the room and the staff. However the room nect to mine had two vey loud people. Beati g and banging and laughing until after 2 am both night. I was there for a class ans was exhausted becuase of them waking me up all night.

1 night stay I had a one night stay with my 8 y/o a we were flying home to lax the next morning. Check in was quick but no amenities were discussed with me, I had to wonder off to find the pool entrance for my daughter to swim. The next morning I asked about the shuttle to the airport and the person at the front desk told me next shuttle was In 15 mins to just wait out in front. The shuttle never came...

Rough start, strong finish. Booked a corner room- there are no corner rooms at the Marriott we stayed at- went to room AC broke. Front desk moved us to a higher room and comped us the 24 hr. lounge. Appreciated her attempt to make things right.

Room was clean and modern The bar and food service was great. The gym has a good selection of equipment, was very clean, and even smelled good. Pool area is nice as well.

We had a wonderful stay at Christmas time. The hotel was beautifully decorated. Check in was easy, we were offered a$20 upgrade for our room, which we accepted and we enjoyed our 3 nights in a suite- lovely! The courtyard was also decorated and the outdoor fireplace was always blazing. We liked having a glass of wine in the evening. We also loved “The Den” bar! The pizza was yummy! This is the hotel I was most dissatisfied with during this trip. Apart from its good location, there is nothing else to recommend, except that the white guy who helped with parking was very responsible. Before leaving, I went to find him and gave him a tip to express my gratitude.

This was a gorgeous hotel!! the room was stunning. Our view was even better. It was in walking distance to everything. The rooftop bar was so fun and the waitstaff went above and beyond. we will definitely be visiting the Dewberry again!

I recently stayed at the Charleston Riverview hotel and had a great stay. The hotel is close to everything, the staff was great including the night agent Darrel. The restaurant has good food with a great view and overall reasonable cost. Definitely worth exploring in you plan to visit.

Tiasha was very patient and attentive at the front desk! I had no phone in my room and when I showed frustration to her she was very kind and patient to accommodate a late check out and understand why I felt the way I did. The location is good and there's enough parking. I also had a large room and was happy with my stay here.

Old hotel, stayed here in the 70's. Room was smallish but nice. Sink area and toilet only had one switch so you lit up the whole room when you had to make a late night visit. Bed was decent. They offer a great breakfast buffet or you can order off a menu. Servers are very friendly and do a great job. We feel John and Joe go out of their way to make us feel welcomed and happy. Definitely worth a try!

Always extremely clean! We had breakfast added to our room price. The buffet was very good. Enough variety for someone who has picky tastes . It’s very relaxing to sit at any window and look out across and see the old “Cooper River Bridge”, which I ran once and Fort Sumter.

The staff member checking in was EXCELLENT. The room was noisy throughout the night and we heard numerous doors slam that woke us up. It was also a bit cold in the room. Room was clean. We didn’t sleep very well.

Heating unit noisy, restaurant was closed because low occupancy, remodeling in hotel was noisy in mornings and night.

1 of the queen beds seemed to have a bit of a support issue on the left side in room 328. Bed might have even been a bit sloped down on that side. Ordered a full egg breakfast with eggs over easy. Eggs were raw on top and yolk was cooked on bottom. Told the server they were not right and he said "that's how over easy are supposed to be". Actually, over easy done right means no ra white on tip and yolks...

Bedroom was clean and had beautiful sunset over the Ashley River. Rocking chairs on balcony were wonderful. Shuttle drivers were great and easy to work with. Definitely recommend and will stay there again.

The chef that cooked breakfast is outstanding. amazing food, very kind, excellent service. The women who worked at the cafe/bar were also outstanding.

The area is going through reconstruction? Renovations? Not sure but could see a lot of small debris in room on floor- so other than that the warmed cookies really makes up for it. This was a very last minute booking and all was well!

Nightly Door rattle. The staff were great, and room was very clean. We kept getting awakened at from loud banging against doors in the hallway both night. Once at 3am and the next night at 1:30.

The room was cleaned. The front desk clerks were friendly and the shuttle drivers were very good. I left my phone in the shuttle and the driver made sure to bring it back to the front desk.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were updated and clean. I wasn’t a fan of the shape of the bathtub. Standing for a shower almost gave me vertigo. I felt like I was falling.

This hotel was fantastic. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful but restaurant really surprised me! Breakfast was very good and their flatbreads were outstanding, beyond what I am used to for a hotel. The heated pool was perfect to enjoy during the cooler winter temps and everything was spotless. Weather was awesome, pool was unexpected pleasure. Stayed at this property several times, never disappoints.

Stuffy smell to the room. Otherwise room clean. No safe or fridge though. Good walking distance to main sights and restaurants and free bus stops just opposite. Breakfast not as good here as Hampton in Black Mountain Hotel ready for refurb

The location was perfect for walking Historic Charleston. Comfortable room, nice TV, good breakfast. Great coffee available all the time. Great overall. Parking was very expensive $41 US a day.

The lobby was welcoming, the staff were so helpful and friendly, and our room was great. The hotel is in the beautiful historic part of town opposite the Visitor Center where the tour buses leave. Perfect!

LOVED our stay! Room was spacious and clean and no weird musty smell like some hotels! Carpet was clean and didn't turn our socks black. Housekeeping was able to come in daily and make our beds and vacuum and give fresh towels and take out our trash which was so nice and appreciated. Room has damages to the bathroom door like the bottom of the door was rotten. The lobby was freezing cold like the AC was on and it was cold outside. Room did not heat efficiently.

Bottom line is they are under staffed. Printed signs all over the place stating elevator not working, bathrooms not working. This hotel needs a major upgrade. The nice wood floors in my room were filthy. Staff was friendly. Obviously poor management of the property. A real shame

The location of the hotel is close to downtown, and it is convenient to park the car there (free parking) and take the shuttle bus to downtown. The hotel itself has a unique cylinder like structure, and my room has an view of the river. Room is relatively clean, but you can see the ages of the hotel. Staffs are pretty friendly.

Enjoyed the rooftop restaurant and bar, we chose to go there each evening instead of going elsewhere. The shuttle to the City Market was VERY convenient and made it so much easier for us to sightsee. The desk staff, driver, and all other staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely return to this location the next time we plan to visit Charleston.

Room was clean but bathroom was tired and sink faucet very hard to turn on. We also were given the shuttle hours and were not informed that they were not running Sunday evening leading to a long wait and $20 taxi bill

One of the classy hotels left in the world!! Every inch of the place was nice & perfect inside out. Huge bathtub in the room bathroom. Perfect for a romantic couple’s trip. We wish we used the advantage of outside pools (which was heated!).

Awesome resort, nice quiet area. The rooms are incredibly spacious and clean. Definitely worth the price. Only reason I marked 4/5 stars is because some maintenance you can tell has been neglected. Towel rack was half off the wall, light out in the bathroom, sliding door to Balcony was half jammed, otherwise great place. Just few cosmetics that could be touched up but definitely would go back.

Some of the amenities we paid extra for were not available due to renivations. It was very disappointing and we were not offered any amount of refund. Our check in was not very welcoming either. The staff member seemed robotic, spewing memorized lines with no sincere or welcoming emotion.

There were some dirty clothes left in a small dresser in the closet, but other than that the room was extremely clean. Staff was great. Housekeeping refreshed towels and wash clothes daily. I do wish there was access to a microwave for warming up food. But I appreciate the complimentary cappuccino machine and water coolers on the property.

We stayed here for a work/vacation trip with the family with a great location . The service was good as well but the hotel just missed the mark in a few areas. The beds were comfortable and clean but the restroom needed some work. It is under construction for renovation so .... not shiny and new yet. Breakfast is just granolas bars, yogurt and fruit. I'm on the top floor so I haven't noticed any noise ...and the door is unbelievably heavy and blocks noise. The room is standard enough and the mattress and pillows were comfortable. The platform bed is stupid. I like to sit up in bed with pillows but if I wiggle to get comfortable...

Great stay! The staff was friendly and helpful. I would give a 5 star rating but there was no TV or wifi for most of the evening and night and the only answer we received was it will be on within the hour, other than that and I am sure it doesn't happen often this place is great

Good clean room, very comfortable bed I wanted to stay a sleep and nice staff. We checked in on April Fools Day and the lady at the reception desk got us good I still remember her name. We all had a good laugh. You get a real breakfast that was yummy. Plus we spoke to other travelers and they were nice. Parking is tight though you have to park in the overflow next door. Very nice hotel, staff was very accommodating, breakfast area is very, very busy but they have multiple employees on hand to help serve everyone. Parking is horrible if you get in late there are not enough spaces available but they do have available overflow parking in a different lot. Overall a very nice hotel
