Ocean Park Resort by Vacasa in Myrtle Beach

The Ocean Park is not a bad hotel however there a better options in Myrtle Beach. The only real pro that this hotel has over others is it's dog friendly policy. If we didn't have a dog we would probably stay elsewhere.

Pros-dog Friendly, good parking, not that busy

Cons- Rooms need maintenance (water damaged cabinets,toilet tank leaks, tub has a crack, balcony floor and railings flaky), room was mostly clean when we arrived but could be improved, there are cockroaches ( all MB hotels have a few roaches outside at night but this one has them in the rooms. I killed 15 in 7 days. You can't find them if you look but if you come home at night they scurry when the lights turn on), The one pool guy is a bit intense (1. Watched him give a kid a sponge and cleaner to clean the indoor pool. The kid asked if he could,and the parents said it was ok, but the liability of doing this is crazy. 2. We picked some debris out of the outdoor pool. He showed up 15 min later and was looking in the pool for something. We asked if he was looking for what we previously removed and he said "Thanks...guess I won't bi$#h you out for sitting too close to the edge". Just ridiculous, if he was concerned with safety why did he give a 8 year old a jug of pool cleaner, Outdoor hot tub was closed (sign beside it says it's closed for the winter but staff says they are waiting for parts. Which is it?)

In general the hotel is fine but if you are dog free go somewhere else. The cons are mostly minor issues but they start to compile. Most staff are attentive, and try to address your issues, but it's difficult to fix them when your there for a week.
