OYO Hotel Memphis Oakville in Memphis

Terrible terrible place to stay. Location is unsafe. This motel is old and run down. Needs lots of basic maintenance!!! The website portrays this motel falsely!! I do not recommend and I strongly feel it does not need to be open and operating in its current condition. I won't return!!!

Okokok.. Where do I start..? My sis and I reserved a few nights online.. The third day there, I was fixing to take a shower. Now, the knob was hard to pull so I had to pull a little harder for the water to come on. This particular time the knob came right off and the water started pouring everywhere!! I mean everywhere. Flooded the whole room, the next room and the room under us.. So we get our belongings, go to the front desk expecting for them to put us in another room for our last night there ( that was already paid for..) However, they ended up saying we needed to pay extra for the damages in order to stay there. At this time I'm livid! How is it that we have to pay extra for the damages, but we had no control over their faulty maintenance? They even admitted they recently had to fix the problem a week ago. So how is it that I have to pay for damages?? Even when I asked for a refund for the last night that we were supposed to stay, they refused!! They gave us an option to pay for the damages and get put into another room or we can check out and lose out on our last night that WAS ALREADY PAID FOR.. Fast forward a few hours after I had to pay more money at another hotel, I went back to their establishment to ask for corporate information so I could file a complaint in which they said there was no corporate. So I said, "OK.. Well, may I have the owners name and number? " and they replied by saying I STILL have to pay for the damages. Of course I refused and they tried calling the cops on me!! Do NOT, DO NOOOOOOOT GO TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT..!!!

This place was a dump! I walked in and the first thing I noticed was the smell of pot! People live there! The elevator is temperamental at best. Couldn't even get food delivered. Think about what that says about the place. Too was clean, but I could see where someone tried to break into my room at some point before I got there. DO NOT STAY THERE! I felt very unsafe there.

Had to stay due to housing and money issues. But service could be better. We had to ask for towels the first day we got here. Then turned them in and still 3 days later we are waiting on towels. Glad we had our own in the car. We had to get our own toilet paper too. Just bad service they have yet to service our room and we have been here almost a week. The only time anyone has knocked on the door was to see a receipt for payment. Just really bad service. They are working on the place and painting and fixing up the rooms. But manager is rude and loud. Now we have come back like a week later. Asked for the room we had previously. They said it was cleaned. But it wasn't the trash we left was still in the room. Nothing had been cleaned.

By far the second worst hotel in Memphis. But ehh you get what you pay for. These rooms have to go for like $20 a night because this place should be shut down by code enforcement.

This was truly one of the worst places I've stayed. I made the mistake by choosing based on price, so that is my fault. When I checked in, the front desk staff argued with the housekeeping staff about which rooms were clean. This went one for about 5 minutes. There were people milling about in the lobby, which was fine. The hotel smelled like cigarette smoke. The first thing I noticed was the dirty hallways filled with litter. I entered my room and noticed that the floor hadn't been vacuumed: there were crumbs and bits of candy wrappers on the floor. The chair had a penny on it. The smoke detector was covered in plastic. Plaster was falling from the ceiling. In the bathroom, one of the ceiling tiles was askew. There was mold in the corner of the bathroom floor. I could deal with all of this and I had intended to stay. However, when I saw the cockroach in the bathroom, that is when I decided it was too much and I left.

Scariest hotel ever. Full of weed and smoke smell. Even the rooms are scary with no proper lighting, AC is not working, ceiling is leaking. Also I heard someone knocking the door. Shifted to another hotel on the same night. I recommend please don't stay here. Waste of money. Also, don't book any OYO hotels in the future.
