4 star hotels in Virginia Beach

Loved my room on the 12th floor could see the beach and pool from my balcony. Great vibe at the hotel and the starbucks on property was also a huge plus in the morning. Definitely plan on returning in the sunmer time

Had a full beach view.The beach was beautiful. Front desk attendants were absolutely fantastic, treated my family and I like celebrities. Tulus was fantastic.

Overall it was a nice stay. Most of the staff was helpful and friendly. Who ever was the bartender on Saturday, December 13, 2025 in hotel restaurant, around 12:30 pm wasn't friendly and not very helpful. He ruined my mood for a while, but I eventually bounced back. When people are spending their hard earned money, it would be nice to be treated with dignity and respect.

Only negative comment I would like to leave is that the mattresses were very hard. I could not sleep comfortably. Everything else was terrific!

I only was there one night but reception staff was very friendly, with easy check-in and out. The room was very clean and contained everything I needed. I had a small parking issue where when I arrived I parked in front lot and after going out and returning in the dark front lot was full and I found the signage was lacking for alternate garage parking. I reserved a ocean view room but was placed in a parking lot view room with the only option was to leave...vary disrespectful and disappointed.

The balcony view was not as good as expected I also didn’t like the bathroom set up especially with having young kids but other than that not a bad stay. Loved the double bunk bed option. I would definitely stay again

We love this Double Tree Hotel. The staff is always nice & the parking & check-in are always easy. The onsite restaurant having live music, good food & drinks is an added bonus!

Really nice stay. Ivy at the front desk was so friendly and check-in was easy and quick. The other young woman at the desk was equally friendly and she worked back to back Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Great parking and the room was very comfortable and clean.

My only complaint is that there was no hot water in the shower. When I notified the hotel, they immediately sent someone to fix it, however, that still didn’t work. We had to take cold showers. That’s my only complaint. Other than that, the staff is friendly, the hotel restaurant has great food options, and the room was clean.

Staff is great! Love the fresh, warm cookies given at check in. That’s a great touch! My spouse left his toothbrush at home. They had some at the front desk no charge- big save there. Downside- either we had really old pillows in our room or their pillows have no cushion to them. I slept with two pillows and my head went straight to the bottom of the pillow- no support. Hotel was in good condition. Shower was a little dirty. However the internet was down for my entire time and restaurant didn’t answer phone for room deliveries but the place was nice.

Everything was great until you come to the room The bed was nice but it was just too soft. Refrigerator didn't work. It stayed at 50° or whatever The office chair was broken or something wrong with it. I got a shower chair and it broke the lighting. You had to figure out how to work the lighting. Several things was going wrong but all if you went outside the room everything was great

Toilet broke in the middle of the night. Wasnt fixed until right before we left. The thermostat didnt work. Very disappointing.

Great ocean views from our balcony. Property needs some maintenance, some water damage inside that is clearly visible. Pool heaters did not work while we were there so we did not get to experience them. The skybar was also not open during our Friday-Monday stay which was disappointing as well.

The view was great. But, the bed was hard a rock and the bathroom was so small. Also we could hear our neighbors so well we felt like we were part of their stay as well!

The room was actually really nice. The walk to the room felt a little like walking through a dungeon but c'est la vie.

The staff, primarily Hannah, was so welcoming and inviting. However, the room was not what I was expecting. It was very underwhelming. It took forever for the water in the shower to get hot. Bar was not ever open, took the hot water forever to get hot. 1st day we stayed was horrible bc the water was luke warm even after telling the front deak staff, the only good part was the breakfast- an if it was complimentary we wouldnt have ate it. Wont stay there again. Very disappointed.

I absolutely loved my stay but realy wish that the restaurant would have been open or I would have known the restaurant wasn't open out of season. I planned on eating in it so it was a bit of an inconvenience. Also the parking is across the street and that would have been nice to know.

Room was very run down making it feel unclean. There were also a number of signs that the room wasn’t deep cleaned. Dirt in corners and hair in the bathroom. But staff was very nice and helpful

We’ve been coming out to the Va. Beach area for over ten years now and have stayed at the Four Sails for ten years. The units are very comfortable and clean. The location is perfect for us with plenty of stores nearby. The boardwalk and beach are the best.

Loved our stay. The 2 bedroom unit was perfect for our family vacation and the views were amazing. The staff was extremely friendly. They offer free bike rentals which was a really nice amenity and the indoor pool was very nice. It can get a little loud with the jets flying over, but would definitely stay there again.

Overall Great Stay Queen bed was comfy and the pullout mattress did great for our 2 young kids. the crew was excellent room clean, and the view was amazing. only thing was the keys to the room did not work and when they reset the key had to wait for 20-30 minutes for them to work. other than that, nothing bad to say. we would go again. the price was good.

We stayed a week in the end of the off season, early April. The first two days we had hot water, the next 2-3 days we were cold water only. The balcony was not kept clean, I came in with black feet from balcony, and mosquitos were fairly constant on the balcony. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We were able to check in early as well as get a late checkout time, and everyone seemed genuinely interested in making sure we had a great stay.

The staff were very helpful, breakfast was delicious , the room was quite and clean and the gym was well equipped and maintained

Room was clean but had a weird smell. Thermostat was broken but they fixed it upon request. Staff was great.

We liked the hotel, it was clean and very comvinent located in dowtown. Breakfast was good. My recomendaton is that the parking situation need to improve. Practically the hotel is not reponsible for parking at all.

Good property in downtown Norfolk next to the harbor. Staff at front desk rectified a situation at check in and handled it very well. Gym is excellent, spacious with a lot of the state of the art equipment. Bar could use one more bartender than on duty but the 10th floor lounge is good. A tad outdated rooms and amenities but overall a good property when in Norfolk.
