OYO 353 Truong Thinh Hotel in Phu Quoc Island

Our room was very dirty, smelt like urine and mould. Water was not hot and the sink was leaking all over the floor. Found some blood stains on the sheets. They would not let us return the room without paying 500k. Had to get someone to clean the room as it smelt so bad. Would not recommend.

Positive:
The hotel is quite new. The rooms look nice at first glance. The manager speaks English.
Negative:
Apart from the manager, nobody speaks English. Communication only through google translate. Very exhausting.
Stench in the room.
Toilet seat dirty from the urine of the previous tenant.
Hair on the bed.
Balcony dirty and small. Not suitable for sitting.
Missing towels, water, coffee, soap, shower stuff.
Fan (exhaust air) in the bathroom broken.
Toilet flush does not work almost every 2nd time.
The fridge is dirty, hopefully no mold.
Water damage, after that the water pressure was even lower and the smell was worse.
Breakfast was messy. One day we have to wait an hour, another we get eggs 3 times in a row, which we did not order, after that we are supposed to pay extra for breakfast, although we had booked it and had received it without any problems so far, the breakfast menu changed after a few days and the choice became smaller. No more Pho Bo, no more pancake. Which hotel in Vietnam doesn't make pancakes and THE morning soup par excellence?
Scooter rental was ok for 150,000 dong, but the first two scooters also failed due to blatant safety deficiencies (rear brake defective, cover falling off). The 3rd was ok.
Tour to Vinpearlland cost 650,000 dong at the hotel. Usury. We then booked it elsewhere for 450,000 dong.

Conclusion:
This hotel has a lot of potential.
As soon as the staff can speak English, processes are structured, defects are repaired and the rooms are cleaned better. Then the hotel is still directly opposite a super loud disco directly on the main street, but at least on the 6th and 7th floor it has a great one beautiful view of the sea.
