Nirvana Hotel in Da Nang

I joked that I would give them a bad review as they had no wine. But things just kept going downhill from there. So I feel obliged. Aside from the crap food, bad service (albeit with a smile) and the only way to wash your hands after eating prawns is by having to sneak behind another family’s dining table to a small sink and apologising to them then being left with nothing to dry your hands with while another table comes to the rescue with some napkins. I’ll stop. It looks cute. But just don’t. Sorry.

The most important first: The whole area is under construction and ABSOLUTELY NOT recommend for any kind of holiday. Furthermore it can be very cold (18 degree) and rainy from October to March. Now to the hotel: Staff is very kind but not helpful because they do not speak English good enough to understand the guests. Seaview rooms have no real Seaview (more a palm tree view). The internet connection (WiFi) is too slow to open even a simple website (instead we can recommend to buy a Vinaphone SIM card - fast and cheap mobile internet). The bathroom was always flooded after a shower. Our room was nice and basically clean but last night we were attacked by a big flying cockroach (that is a no go). The breakfast was ok but you get only one glass of water for drinking (no tea, no coffee). We rented a bike for a half day (65.000 VND far too much - 70.000 in Saigon for whole day) and the bike was in a very bad condition. All in all one of the most depressive places we have ever been. We were so happy that we had friends here so we were still able to enjoy the time (with great local food).
