GK Central Hotel in Ho Chi Minh

I stayed at this hotel for one night and found it significantly inferior to the hotel I stayed at in Hanoi the day before.

◎ Disadvantages
【Amenities, Facilities】
① The first thing that surprised me was the absence of a razor. When I asked the front desk, they told me to buy one at the convenience store nearby. Do all hotels in Ho Chi Minh City not provide razors? If I had known in advance, I would have brought one from the Hanoi hotel I stayed at the previous day. Not having a razor in a hotel is simply unacceptable and disqualifies it as a proper hotel, in my opinion.
② There was only one trash can. It was under the sink, but none in the main room area, which was very inconvenient compared to the Hanoi hotel.
③ Only two types of towels were provided: a face towel and a bath towel. There was no bath mat, so after showering, the room floor became soaking wet and felt unpleasant. The Hanoi hotel had a bath mat ready. Also, the Hanoi hotel had a bathrobe, which made showering very comfortable, but this hotel didn't.
④ There were only three hangers, and they were arranged vertically, making it difficult to hang clothes. This kind of hotel is rare.
⑤ The sink drainage was poor, and soap suds lingered forever.
⑥ Only shampoo and body soap were provided; there was no conditioner.
⑦ The hairdryer was fixed to the sink, making it awkward to use.
⑧ I somehow felt that the arrangement of the room and toilet was odd.

【Location】
When I went out at night, the traffic in front of the hotel was terrible. It took over 15 minutes for a Grab taxi to arrive at the hotel. Even after getting in, the traffic continued, and it turned out to be faster to walk to my destination. (I paid 32,000 VND).

◎ Advantages
【Location】
There's a convenience store right in front of the hotel. It's convenient for shopping and also serves as a reassuring landmark when returning to the hotel. Most tourist attractions are within a 30-minute walk. However, on the day I visited Ho Chi Minh City, the daytime temperature exceeded 30°C with strong sunshine, so I was sweating profusely from walking. It's advisable to bring a parasol or similar. (Although no one else was using one).
The bus stop for airport bus 152 is 5 minutes away, and bus 109 is about 10 minutes away. Takashimaya (department store) is also about a 10-minute walk, and its top floor has many Japanese restaurants.

【Room】
I think I might have received a free upgrade because the shower room had a bathtub, allowing me to enjoy a leisurely bath. However, the moment I entered the room, there were no towels. When I went to the front desk to complain, after a short while, they calmly told me via a translation app, 'We apologize. There are no towels.' After another moment, perhaps they found some from another room, as they tried to hand me four towels at the front desk, so I had them bring them up to the room with me. The front desk's response was a bit lacking in common sense.

【Breakfast】
Standard for a hotel. I don't remember specifically, but I don't think there was any Japanese food. However, the young female waitress used to be a Japanese intern; she was very friendly and spoke good Japanese. She was a very kind person and made me a handmade pho and drip coffee.

【Check-out, Luggage】
I requested a late check-out, and they extended it until 1 PM (after which there would be a charge). Afterward, I left my luggage with them to continue sightseeing until the evening, which allowed me to explore comfortably.
