Booked this property via Agoda, where it’s listed as Asian Ruby Hotel & Spa, but just a heads-up — the actual name displayed on the hotel front is Asian Ruby Hotel & Apartments. Don’t get confused, it’s the same property.
Check-in experience:
Just like most hotels in Vietnam, check-in time is 2 PM. Early check-in is generally not guaranteed, so plan your arrival accordingly.
Room experience:
The room was good, clean, and comfortable, similar to what you get in mid-range Vietnam hotels. Overall stay was pleasant.
In-room amenities included:
Shampoo & shower gel
Hair dryer
Toothbrush, comb & soap
Kettle with tea & coffee
Everything needed for a short city stay was available.
Location 📍:
The hotel is centrally located, which makes getting around very convenient. Grab taxis are easily available, so commuting within the city is smooth and stress-free.
Overall, this is a decent, value-for-money option if you’ve booked it at a good Agoda price. Just note the name difference on Agoda vs hotel signage, and you’re good to go.

The hotel has a very unique architectural layout — the basement floor serves as the lobby and reception area, which also includes the dining space and a massage room for guests. The overall design is compact yet efficient. The hotel has a pleasant fragrance throughout, and the rooms are clean, fresh, and well-maintained.

The room rate is very reasonable, especially since breakfast (served from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM) is included. The spotlight is breakfast, which is soooo good. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped with all necessary amenities. The front desk staff were extremely attentive and took great care of guests. Their English skills were also impressive.

The only minor issue was that the air conditioner didn’t seem to work very efficiently at first, so the room took some time to cool down. However, the receptionist handled the situation very well by lending me a spare key so the AC could stay on while I was out. Thanks to that, the room was pleasantly cool despite the hot and humid weather in Saigon.

Overall, it was a comfortable and satisfying stay — I truly appreciated the thoughtful service and cozy atmosphere.

Great location , right across from District 1 main park ! Lots of activity near by, if you staying in "HCM" city District 1. They staff are exceptional ! Very thankful for a 5 dollar tip here and there - for 'over the top service'. They can arrange very good low cost tours too ! Ethical exchange rates there too ! A basic-type hotel that has VERY clean rooms, and a GREAT LOCATION, and all sorts of connections for tours and other things at low cost. OUT of this world breakfast buffet - so good ! ( about 4-5 dollars I think , or included in room change - SO worth it ! Great value. Some rooms don't have windows ( common in Asia - so ask or request one if desired . This Hotel goes by two different names . I know it as Asian Ruby ...but there is also anther name for it ( Common in Vietnam ) . You will enjoy this place IF you not looking for a 5 amenity hotel

Location is key with this hotel. 10min walk to most attractions and finding it is easy to locate. The rooms are basic but clean and the hotel staff are super friemdly. I had a basic mani pedi in my room for $5

rooms are getting old. air cons need to upgrade. nice & extremely helpful front door staffs but bad attitude security guard in day shift. breakfast is do down and dining room is very so so.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, convenience location. Breakfast was nice. And the lobby is instagramable too.. Surely will come back if I go to Ho Chi Minh

The staff are quite friendly and professional. I only ate a small breakfast and they immediately asked if I disliked the food or anything. It was great, I just wanted to save room for the Banh Mi stall right outside. I had the cosy room, which is cosy (small) and the walls were a bit thin. The bed pillows were extremely comfortable, prob the best bed I had slept on in Vietnam. I think the owners have done well with what they can control, and any real complaints are just unavoidable issues you tend to encounter in Vietnam.
