Felix Garden Hotel in Ho Chi Minh

Receptionist is very beautiful and kind. This weekend I will go again. That was big size room and bed but other conditions were not good.

Felix Hotel was a great find. Stayed two-weeks. Twenty minute taxi ride from Ho Chi Min city ground zero. This hotel was a soothing retreat away from the ruckus of the city. Good food, helpful staff, air-conditioning ahhh.

Overall, everything was wonderful. The room was clean, comfortable, and the service was very good.
However, early in the morning there was often a cigarette smoke smell in room 405, and it was unclear whether it came from another room or from the air-conditioning system. In addition, the bathroom in room 410 had a very strong sewage smell, which was quite unpleasant.
Apart from these issues, the stay was very good.

Location isn’t that great for tourism purpose as this hotel is located at District 8 HCMC (most touristy destinations are located at District 1 and 3). The closest area for tourism purposes perhaps Cholon area (HCMC’s Chinatown). However we managed to take some bus rides from this hotel to those districts mentioned above, there are several bus stops which quite close to this hotel, took us around 40 minutes to an hour by bus to city center from this area. Bus ticket costed only around 6,000 VND. Besides, there’re lots of room for improvement. For instance the elevator was broken during our stay, they managed to fix it on our last night stay there. There’s a hole on our bathroom’s ceiling, a bit creepy. Some amenities such as slippers had seen better days, it was crumbling and can’t be used. TVs didn’t work too. However the hospitality was great. There’s staff on stand by 24/7. They spoke good English too and they’re so kind. Check-in experience was great, no hassle, price very reasonable, the room itself and the bed were quite huge. They didn’t ask for too much deposit too, only have to put 100,000 VND as deposit which is pretty reasonable. Despite located far from city center, the hotel located on the major road at District 8, so it’s easy to find, there’re bunch of stores close to it, Family Mart located just 100 metres from the hotel, some decent cafes and restaurants, and bus stops.

Average hotel, rooms basic but done what we needed them for and got a good nights sleep. Beds comfortable, pillows good and close enough to the night life but also far enough away you can’t hear it when trying to sleep. Google maps is useful when trying to find

Only 2 stars but environment and price is good, near 3 stars. cheap and easy.
