The Sailing Bay Beach Resort in Mui Ne

DO NOT STAY! Where do I begin… from arriving in the hotel we didn’t even get a hello how are you, they just demanded our passports or 100 dollars in cash. We waiting by the pool area and it really was a ghost hotel. There is no atmosphere.. the pool is well kept but that is it. The room had ants in and they was also in our bed. And we also wanted to pay for water and they tried to overcharge us. Food is average. I would look somewhere else to stay. I also expressed my feedback to them but they didn’t want to take any action.

We stayed at Sailing Bay Beach Resort for 2 nights — it was our third hotel in Mui Ne during this trip, and by far the worst. The staff at reception were extremely rude, no welcome drinks, no interest in guests at all.

The first room had a broken shower, splashing sink, no safe, and very old furniture. After a strong complaint, they moved us to another room and called a plumber — but the new room was in the same poor condition, just with working water.

The entire hotel is run-down, and not maintained. There’s a pool, but no working bar, even though it’s listed in the hotel description. You can’t buy a single drink or snack at the property. Since the resort is far from the center, this was a big problem.

We ended up going to the neighboring Muine Bay Resort just to feel like we’re at a real hotel.

Sailing Bay is not a 4-star resort. It feels abandoned. Avoid it — there are much better places nearby.

The rooms are old but okay, the pool is really big and clean, the breakfast was full of choose.

BUT after cleaning the room some of my stuff disappeared! A told about that at the reception and they were bad with the answer that nobody didn’t touch anything. The thing that missed was very important for my health and I needed it urgently but it was impossible to buy the new one anywhere in Mui Ne. The stuff apologized but didn’t take any action to help in this situation.

Also during check in they took from us deposit, so that to be sure for them that hotels property would be safe, but they don’t care about quests belonging.

“Nice but outdated”
The resort is located directly next to the beach, but there are no restaurants or cafes nearby. The outdoor area was maintained well. But when we arrived, the place seemed lost; there were barely any other guests at the resort. And it became quickly apparent why that was the case: once we arrived at our room, we first detected a greasy film all over the floor. After that, we noticed that our bedsheets were filthy. Upon contacting the reception of these issues, the bed sheets were replaced by more clean ones when we spent a few hours on the nice, but windy beach. Later that day we discovered mold at several places in our room: the armed chairs both had mold on several big spots. The shelves smelled oddly, most likely mold as well. When we used the bathroom, we found the same: mold everywhere. The coasters for toothbrush cups were molded, multiple molding spots on the furniture and dust everywhere. Also, one of the two provided towels had big, dark spots on it. We had the feeling of staying in a room that no one had visited for weeks and that was neither cleaned nor prepared for us. When opening the windows, we found that the curtains were covered in dark, moldy spots. The best thing about this stay was that we only booked for a single night. However, the next day we had an okay breakfast with good variety of dishes at the restaurant and the lady at the reception organized a bus transfer for us. The personnel was helpful and our luggage was carried to our room and when leaving to the bus by a nice guy. Additionally, we got free water and welcome drinks on arrival. If the room would have seen a makeover and a deep clean, the experience would have been so much better.
