Sandunes Beach Resort & Spa in Mui Ne

The room amenities are good for the price, and the hotel offers convenient services like booking transportation, currency exchange, and tourist information. Breakfast could be improved, although the pho is excellent and a must-try. The hotel is within 30 minutes of nearby attractions, and a shopping street is about 3km away, easily accessible by Grab. The room rates are good, comparable to surrounding guesthouses, but the service and facilities are far superior. Don't worry if you don't speak English; translation apps and Chinese will be perfectly fine, as many Chinese guests stay here. The beach and water quality are pretty average. This hotel is ideal for budget travelers looking for a short, relaxing getaway.

You can book a special colorful jeep tour through the hotel. For 150 RMB (600,000 VND), a driver will take photos and guide you to attractions like White Sand Dunes, Red Sand Dunes, Fishing Village, and Fairy Stream for 4 hours (the photography is very professional). (I don't recommend Fairy Stream; it's just a small stream in the fishing village, you walk barefoot in the water, and it has no scenic appeal or unique features).

The Fishing Village has a seafood market where you can pick your seafood and have it cooked on the spot. The seafood is excellent, and the prices are great (be careful not to get your seafood swapped during processing!).

This hotel offers excellent value for money and is very close to Mui Ne city center. The breakfast spread is abundant with many choices, and the scenery is lovely. However, our room faced the sun, so every morning from 8 AM to 12 PM, it felt like an oven – very stuffy and hot. But overall, everything else was fantastic!

Pros: private beach, beautiful grounds, beach towels provided, and decent cocktails at the poolside bar.

Cons: We've stayed in many 4-star hotels in Vietnam that cost the same or less, so we have a good basis for comparison. This hotel falls far short of a 4-star rating in terms of comfort and service.

It's clearly designed for package tourists, with a "good enough" mentality.

They took our passports at check-in (a common practice with package tours, but not something we've experienced at other hotels in Vietnam).

Now, for specifics:

Breakfast was relatively sparse, but you could put together a basic Vietnamese meal of soup, vegetables, eggs, and fruit. For a two-star hotel, it would have been excellent.

The atmosphere in the "restaurant" was like a noisy canteen.

The gym exists, but it's barely functional: two treadmills were barely working, and it was surprising they moved at all. There were nominally two leaky dumbbells, literally spilling their contents.

There weren't enough sun loungers on the beach, even with few guests at the hotel.

There's no entertainment here, but there is at the neighboring hotel, which blasts music from 7 pm to 10 pm – so I can't agree with other reviews that call this a "quiet hotel."

The pool has several levels of varying depth but has a greenish tint.

I also found it outrageous that a loud event (some kind of team-building with karaoke) took place one evening, as if the hotel didn't care about the well-being of other guests.

We stayed in a villa room:

Pros: two sinks, partitions between the shower and toilet.
Comfortable bed.
Beautiful view of the hotel grounds, large terrace.

Cons:
The room itself was very tired, with plaster patches on the walls, and not all outlets worked.
No shelves for clothes – this was a real shock.
The shower had a very poor P-trap, which caused a sewage smell in the room, and the water drained very slowly. Then the P-trap broke completely.
The room itself was spacious but utterly bland.
Wi-Fi was weak.
Cleaning was adequate, but they knocked as early as 9 AM.
There's also a ventilation window in the room that doesn't close, letting in outside noise.
Only overhead lighting, no dim, ambient evening light.

Overall, the hotel left a negative impression due to the discrepancy between its advertised level and the reality.

The hotel is a bit far from the center of Mui Ne but has its own private beach. There's a restaurant and bar on the property, and another hotel right next door. Our 2 AM check-in went smoothly. We booked a Premier room with a sea view, but it overlooked an unfinished building and only partially the sea from the 5th floor. The restaurant food is quite good, though there aren't enough sun loungers for everyone. They do have their own loungers by the sea. The room has a fridge, hairdryer, kettle, and a balcony. There's a TV, but it doesn't work.

The hotel staff aren't very quick and aren't always polite. Issues at the reception weren't resolved immediately because the ladies at the front desk were always busy and asked us to come back later. They also couldn't help us with a knife or a corkscrew. Upon check-in, they ask for a $1500 deposit or to hold your passport.

Good location and good food

Excellent pool, a beautiful beach nearby, spacious and comfortable rooms, and very friendly staff. Overall, a wonderful hotel - excellent choice for a vacation

The room was spacious, facing the sea with beautiful surroundings. The pool was large, and there was a private beach. Breakfast was incredibly rich and varied. A special mention goes to the front desk service, which was incredibly thoughtful and warm. Ms. Loi, in particular, was enthusiastic, fluent in foreign languages, and very helpful. All the other staff members, both male and female, were also excellent.

Nice place , under renovation a big part of it, the gym and the spa weren't open, the room was spacious and comfortable, the breakfast buffet was sufficient for all tastes, the beach clean with few sunbeds due to high waves and strong wind, ideal for kite surfing not for swimming. The hotel staff were very friendly, very polite and helpful. I would like to see the place again in full function.

The price was reasonable, and the hotel's major facilities were perfect. The room was super spacious, and breakfast was great. As someone who frequently stays in hotels, I absolutely loved this one. The front desk, security, and restaurant staff were all very kind and provided excellent service. The only downside was the toilet seat – it wasn't very good quality.
