Hotel Castle in Ksamil

I stayed at Hotel Castle for 5 nights, and while the location is perfect, a number of issues significantly impacted our stay:
1. Poor Housekeeping: Although the room was cleaned daily, the basics were consistently overlooked. Bed sheets and towels were never changed, the shower was clearly not cleaned (I could see my scrub marks remain for days), and used toiletries like body lotion and shampoo were never replaced (until I asked in our last night).
2. Low-Quality Breakfast: The breakfast options were extremely limited, and the food often seemed stale or leftover. The quality was far below expectations.
3. Old and Overcrowded Gym: The gym is in very poor condition — rusty dumbbells and equipment, broken machines, and a strong unpleasant smell. To make things worse, it’s open to the public, so it’s frequently overcrowded and difficult to use.
4. Unreliable Utilities: The electricity went off twice in one day during our stay, which was very frustrating especially at 1:00AM.
5. Lack of Basic Amenities: Bottled water was only provided on the first day — it was never replenished after that.
6. Cleanliness Issues: There were ants in the room, which added to the overall sense of poor hygiene and maintenance.

While the location is excellent, there are many other hotels in the area that offer far better cleanliness, service, and facilities. I would not recommend Hotel Castle.
