Doss Hotel and Hostel in Yerevan

Its worse worse worse ever. Cheap but please pay little bit but dont stay tjere, no safe, dirty, crowded and dark. Especially if you re woman, do not stay there. Yes may be good located but not eneough. Also for dirty, you cant use kitchen. People is also weird. I think they live there like house. And whole hoatel smells cigarette.

I made a reservation at this hostel and checked in at the front desk, paying the full rental for three days in advance. The experience there was awful and terrible, poor air-conditioning (if any), bad air (some other guests there are smoking cigarettes which smell flows into the rooms) and absolutely poor service. The worst thing of all is, when I raised the aforementioned points to the staff of the hostel expecting that they can improve and at least solve some of the problems, they broke into my room, snatched my luggage, and threw them outside the property, and used violence to push me out of the property. They even told the agent that I did not show up, and they refused to arrange for any refund. There is simply no recourse because I paid by cash and they did not issue any receipt to me. This hostel is obviously operated by a bunch of fraudsters.
I strongly advise any person contemplating a trip to Yerevan to avoid this hostel.

Location and price were very well. Receptionist lady helped us for switching our travel dates and arranged minibus from Yerevan to Tblisi. She was quite helpful

We did not like the guys in front of the hostel. If you are working in the hostel/hotel, dont hang out and smoke in front of your work place. Be respectful where you work. It looks creepy.
There was only one man toilet for two floors. It is no go for rush hour

We (a couple) arrived at the same time with two Korean girls. All of us had booked a double room for several nights. All 4 of us got told our double rooms "have technical problems" and they need to relocate us. That was so obviously a lie that its almost funny. This place has not even air conditioning. What technical problems should there be? They obviously overbooked themselves again (see previews reviews) and on top of that after like 30 minutes waiting weren't able to find a new place for us. We left and found something else.

The worst hostel experience ever!

I stayed one night in Doss hostel, it was a rough night. And they canceled my booking. That is how they keep high rate on Agoda.

There are few problems about this hostel:

1. The hostel managed guys sleeping in female dorm room!

2. The owner has been over selling the rooms! He listed 2 properties online —Doss hostel and hotel, and Small Center hostel&tour! Both showed up wrong location in map but nearby. In very fact he has ONLY ONE property! That’s why there are not enough places for people, especially for guys. So if you are a guy booked this hostel, you may end up staying in female dorm room! And it was showed 4 beds still left in female dorm room online when I was there, but there was only one left-mine. So, it is a high chance that you won’t get a room/bed when you get there at late night.

3. The owner canceled my booking around 4am, so that his hostel won’t get a negative review! That’s how it keeps high rating.

4. Wrong location.

5. The living room is quite small, both floors. So people chat in dorm room.

When I arrived they informed me that they had double booked. They apologised and took me to another hostel nearby in a taxi. They promised a private bathroom (which I had booked) and a discount of 2000DRAM for the 2 nights.
Bathroom was not private. Others were constantly using it and it was filthy dirty from when I checked in until I checked out.
