Hotel Schloss Weikersdorf in Baden

So, in this hotel "Vintage room" describes a room which is not renovated (we dared to expect a well maintained old style room). The bathroom was really not inviting with not tiled, but pained walls and the paint peeling off; the bedroom, while spacious, was filled furniture that begged to be restored. It later on turned out that bed frame bars that support the mattress were going random directions, flipped upside down, one has actually fallen to the floor, so needless to say the sleep was not amazing.
The price for the quality you get is really off - the room would have been fine for maybe 50eur a night, not 150.
The staff, however was pleasant and the spa area was quite nice, even if you had to turn on the sauna rooms on your own and then wait for 15 mins until they heat up, before you would actually want to go in.

We did not stay at the hotel, but had a late lunch at the restaurant outside (3 p.m.). We were 6 people (4 adults and 2 kids) and since the lunch menu was apparantly only until 2 p.m., we were only able to order from their small snack menu. We ordered a couple of burgers and a Caesar salad.
First of all, I would like to say that I have never seen such a lack of service in a restaurant before. Not a single time did a single waiter come to us and ask if we needed anything else after we placed our orders or even after we received our food. Not a single time did anyone come ask us if we were doing alright and were happy with the food.
In any case, we were not able to order any more drinks since the waiter was non-existant and I was also not able to complain about my Caesar salad either. I love eating Caesar salads, but this was by far the worst Caesar salad I have ever eaten!! There was soooo much salt in it and it was such a waste of food and money (15 Euros!)!!
In the end, when we asked for the bill, I complained to the waiter (older man, small with glasses) saying that the caesar salad was not eatable (the salad was sitting still next to me - mostly uneaten) and had way too much salt in it. But he didn't say anything, other than "ahah" - he didn't apologise for it or offer to take the salad off the bill, nothing - he just showed that he basically didn't care at all!
I can't speak for the hotel, but can only say that it is definitely not worth coming to the restaurant here!!!!!

Filthy hotel, we stayed 2 minutes in the room before turning round and walking out of the hotel. The lack of cleanliness is completely unacceptable and quite unbelievable during COVID-19 times when you would expect a heightened awareness of hygiene and safety for guests. Do not waste your money or time booking this place.

Terrible service. A sequence of lies during my stay from many of the staff, trying to avoid responsibility. Not worthy for a night in Baden, my best advice try other hotels, similar prices and for far better service. At the end of the day, we only live once, and live is about good experiences and good memories.
