I was struggling to decide if to put 1 or 2 stars to the review.. reason for one is really that it should have 2.5 in total maximum. Only nice thing about the hotel is the location.
Rooms are really ready for renovation, and all other common spaces as well..
If it would cost a half of what it does it could get 3 stars review.. but really an overpriced disaster
By the way what the hell is it with the carpet in front of the rooms - blood?

Great place if you want a simple room. It’s nothing special or luxurious but the rooms have everything they need and are clean. It’s also close to the train station but not too close to be noisy. The owner is also very nice.

There's absolutely no breakfast. The heating system isn't working. It's like the hotel is operating illegally.

A lot of money for a ok room. Very noisy with trams passing and people drinking in restaurant attached. Hallway smelt of the Indian restaurant attached.

Excellent for proximity to train station. ＜30 min walk to center or uni. Very friendly and helpful guys at front desk. Has Indian-Nepali restaurant/bar attached, but I didn't tty it. Clean and comfortable room. Only negative was dilapidated light well 'view.' Preferred to close curtains and pretend there was no window.

...but I know for sure that this hotel is average, nothing more. It's clearly been a while, and especially the common areas could use a serious refresh! The room had a nice, large bed, more than decent sheets, and a working bathroom. It's fine for one night. I didn't pay, so I can't comment on the value for money. Or even on the breakfast.

The room lacked air conditioning, only a weak fan, making it feel stuffy and cramped. Very poor, absolutely not recommended.
We suggest that trip.com provide guests with notice of rooms without air conditioning so they can choose the right option.

I had a third floor double, with elevator access, but still with 5 stairs, in case that’s a problem. Very basic hotel, but everything works OK, and it was clean with a comfortable bed with thin pillows. Had a cube refrigerator, a little weak. Good location.
It seems a little overpriced on the face of it, but in fact, nothing is really better in town short of hostels. Gent is a very expensive city, it turns out….
people who go to bed early may not want rooms facing the square in warm weather since if you leave the windows open, the noise from the café next-door can be loud until about midnight when it closes .Not a problem if you leave your window closed though.
