The place is great, the lift is nice, fast and comfy. The slopes are wide, but some of them are very steep and wouldn't recommend for beginners. If there is a lot of snow the place is a great place to spend a few days. The price for the lift is affordable and the cafeteria offers good meals.

Kartala is the best place to ski in Bulgaria! Period! Ski runs were perfectly groomed, not much waiting time for the lift, and the best is spectacular 360 ° view on the top!!

If you want to escape the massive crowds and high prices of Bansko or Borovets, Kartala is the ultimate local secret. Tucked away in the Rila Mountains near Blagoevgrad, this resort offers a pure, "no-nonsense" alpine experience that focuses on quality over quantity.

Terrible attitude and service. Hospitality is worse than zero and we are not going back ever. Not sure how those kind of people end up "developing" businesses like that. Hardly five cars on the parking and despite the very few customers still zero effort to keep them. The security asked for a bribe pretending there is a violation of the parking rules, which of course are not put on any signs. Asking for identification, because if you ask for penalty I should know who I am paying and on what basis the answer was "Who I think I am". Made up rules out of thin air to squeeze some money from the 10 people you somehow managed to have today is ending one way only and there is no world in which that's hospitality or good business. Save yourself the trouble and pass this location!

Very good place for family what come for ski or sled. The price are very good. I recommend.

One of the best places to ski in Bulgaria! Certainly very unique in it's location and style. There is almost nothing around, so you can ski freely ball you want, and there is an elevator going from your hotel room to the ski life ..I kid you not! Overall, we had so much fund and will repeat for sure!!:)

The best off-piste spot in Bulgaria!
Stick to the pow 20-50m right from the lift for the time of your life!
PS: brace yourselves for some technical narrow paths at the bottom of the hill! Keep in mind that you simply have to take your board off for 20m of walking at the very bottom, but IT'S WORTH IT!!!

Highly recommend. Very beautiful place. Perfect for ski, snowboard and winter sport. Perfect for vacation. Nice nature and hotel. Very low price. Recommended
