When we first checked in, the woman was so sweet and kind!
There is no elevator, and there is stairs everywhere. We were on the main floor and to get to our room there were a few stairs down, so we couldn't use the rolly cart to haul things to our rooms, and we had a lot of stuff.
The entire establishment could use a major update. The smell of stale, old cigarette smoke still lingers.
The shower in our room was very difficult to get to a good temperature, and to shut off. My kids struggled with it.
In the pool area, there was tiles falling off and the hot tub was only barely warm.
The listing states breakfast is included but they give you vouchers to go to the restaurant and it covers up to $16. On the adult menu, nothing was under $16, so either be prepared to not have a beverage or bring money. The food we had was very good! The waitress was also wonderful and patient.
The hotel is extremely loud! There was loud music playing in the hallways. The train passed by what seemed like every 15 minutes, and it was unbelievably loud. None of us slept very well.

The hotel is old and needs a renovation. The bathroom was old and warn. The hot water was scolding hot. The allowed people to party and be loud past 2pm. I left my ipad behind after checking out and driving away. I tried calling the hotel for 15mins and not one person would answer. I had to drive back and get it and when I arrived the young Indian lady was sitting on her phone scrolling instead of answering the hotel phone . during

They don’t answer the phone when you call. I tried for 15 minutes straight multiple times. It’s an older place. They don’t tell people to be quiet when they’re partying outside the building that are staying at the Heritage Inn. I recommend somewhere else. The breakfast is really good for being free included with your room. It was good quality food, and that was the best part of the stay. They need to do more for keeping the building cleaner inside and they need to update the rooms.

The clerk was rude, the free breakfast was a bag breakfast with a soggy/slimly plain egg burrito thing with a bruised old apple a granola bar, yogurt and a juice box. The restaurant was closed and we were not told when we checked in. The stairs going down the “main” floor smelled like a sewer. There was a smoke alarm that was chirping all day all night for 2 days and we could hear in our room. The “hot” tub wasn’t hot.
The place looked dirty as we walked in.
Definitely would never stay here again!

Room was clean but very basic which is in line with the price. Hot tub was broken and only lukewarm. The water was green in the hot tub. To be fair the ad only mentions a whirlpool and doesn't say the water would be hot. Still a little disappointing.

Carpet smells bad. They tried to switch me to other bedrooms but all of them were smelling bad. Good breakfast. Dirty swimming pool

We have stayed at this property many times. It needs so me remodeling but it was always clean and the staff was good.
This time, it was still clean, the room had been slightly updated but the staff was not knowledgeable and there wasn’t good communication between staff. I was sent in the wrong direction for my second floor room and the comment was, oh it is that way?.
Secondly, we had planned to eat in the hotel pub and was told by reception that there was a private party but we could still eat there. My husband went and spoke to a server who told us yes we could eat there but come at 5:00pm and we can only order from the sandwich menu. We went at 5:00, a server told us to pick a table that did not have a reserve sign and she would bring us a menu. We sat down and a few minutes later another server came out and said they were at capacity and “ we had to leave”. No apologies. It should have started at reception that there was a private event and not available for drop ins. Two people told us yes we could eat there in two separate areas, reception and a server.
On another small point, the vouchers for breakfast should have the time range for breakfast.
We will ppropably stay another time because of the convenience for our trip but I hope there will be more knowledgeable staff and communication.

Worst dinning experience I have ever had.

What a joke! I Ordered a loaded burger for my husband and a kids burger for my son. The loaded ADULT burger is the exact same size as the kids. Absolutely ridiculous. Twice the price for a 2 bite burger. Never eating from here EVER again. Don't waste your money.

Any time I've ordered from this place in the last few years there has been a problem with my order and any complaints were met with ridiculous arguments from the owner or a staff member who seemed afraid to confront him. A few months ago I had decided not go here to eat any more.
Then I decided that I'd try one more time. I am a fan of supporting local businesses and this is one of the older businesses in Cranbrook.
We ordered (for delivery) a 10" pepperoni pizza, a regular lasagna, a seafood lasagna, a salad and some garlic toast with cheese. This was the first time ever that the toast has been delivered correctly so I had hope. Sadly my seafood lasagna had meat sauce in it.
When I called the next day to complain the owner flat out told me that I couldn't have ordered a seafood lasagna because he was working and didn't remember making it. Then he tried to tell me that I what meant to say is that I ordered a regular lasagna. (He's done this to me before. More than once. I used to work at a hotel and we did quite a bit of business with them in the form of us recommending his resautant to guests.) Then he admitted that he had a helper who may have made the mistake but asked me why it would have had meat sauce put on it if they weren't made that way. As if I should know the answer to that. Then he asked me where he was when my order was given to the kitchen and prepared. Again, why would I know that? He proceded to ask me questions like "where was the meat sauce in the lasagna" and "how did it taste" and "why didn't I call the night before" he was very condescending.
Finally he asked what I would like. I told him that I just wanted my seafood lasagna replaced. He offered to give it to me half for price and probably would have made me pay for the delivery too. I was also asked if I could pick it up rather than have it delivered. Neither are a possibility. So, rather than fixing his mistake to ensure I am not a dissatisfied customer he tried to argue his way out of it and leave me to think that I have done something wrong. In a way I guess I did. I ordered dinner from the Apollo Ristorante and Steak House again after I'd sworn off of it.
I don't usually leave negative reviews but this has happened too many times and I can't imagine I'm the only one but no one else is saying anything.
If you end up deciding to take the chance on going here and you somehow manage to get the correct order then the food will most likely be good. However, don't be surprised if you are disappointed, decide to complain and then are told you are mistaken.

Decent Burger King. 2- $4 breakfast sandwich and 2-$6 Big Kings are great deals. The play place is great to keep the kids busy. Its the only play place in Cranbrook so big bonus there. Nice patio with good views. The staff is always friendly and the restaurant is kept clean.
