InterContinental Nanjing by IHG in Nanjing

The facilities are a bit dated, especially the showerhead which was a bit broken. The room's carpet was also dirty and old, and the bedsheets had some loose threads, making me question if they had actually been changed. We requested new sheets. There were even water glass stains on the table.

The location is fantastic! You can see it right from Exit 4A of Gulou Metro Station. It's only two metro stops to Xinjiekou.

As for the facilities, the hotel isn't newly renovated, but the rooms are spacious and still offer standard 5-star amenities. I forgot to take photos, but you can pretty much go by the official website. The high-floor views are excellent. I was short on time, so I didn't get to experience the gym or pool.

Cleanliness was great; it was very well-maintained.

Now, for the service, this is where I really want to highlight something. A day before arrival, the butler contacted me to confirm my check-in time and added me on WeChat. They provided information about the hotel, nearby dining options, and tourist attractions. On the day of arrival, the room was already prepared, and complimentary fruit was provided. The butler also followed up on my stay to ensure everything was satisfactory. They always responded to my requests promptly. They even helped me print my child's homework and assisted with sending a package.

When you're traveling, this kind of service truly makes you feel so welcome and cared for. A special thanks to the butler, Luanne 👍👍👍! I'll definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Nanjing.

First and foremost, I have to commend Alice, our butler. From arranging our check-in to offering excellent recommendations for sightseeing in Nanjing, reminding us about breakfast times and locations, and promptly addressing all our requests, her service was consistently warm and thoughtful. Secondly, while the hotel is a bit older, the hygiene was still quite good, and the dining service was also satisfactory. The view from the observation deck on the 45th floor was fantastic.

The hotel upgraded our room to the 65th floor, and the view was fantastic, though the weather wasn't ideal. Cora provided excellent, professional, and attentive service.

The InterContinental welcome fruit was a nice touch.

I didn't get to try the Qingmo Qipao photo shoot.

I also missed out on the 45th-floor outdoor platform for city views because of the heavy smog these past couple of days.

The room was very comfortable, and although the decor was a bit dated, it was well-maintained. The view was absolutely stunning, with Xuanwu Lake serving as a gorgeous backdrop outside the floor-to-ceiling windows. The staff were very warm and attentive to guests' needs. Breakfast was plentiful, and the food and drinks at the Executive Lounge were also quite sufficient.

Our housekeeper, Luanne, was fantastic from start to finish. She proactively reached out before check-in with helpful reminders and was incredibly responsive and accommodating throughout our stay. Whether it was recommending local restaurants, helping with travel arrangements, or handling small requests, she was always meticulous, thoughtful, and professional. She truly made us feel at home and genuinely cared for.

Huge thanks to Susie at the front desk for helping me check in! She arranged my room right after I booked and even sent some welcome fruit. The hotel's location is super convenient, right next to Metro Line 1. It's very close to Hongshan Zoo and Xuanwu Lake. The hotel breakfast is excellent and has a great variety. I stayed on an executive floor, so I had a high-altitude view. I could see the Yangtze River right from my window once I opened the curtains. All the staff were very nice. My room was clean, well-soundproofed, and the bed was really comfortable. This will definitely be my first choice for future business trips. You can also enjoy the view and take photos from the sky terrace on the 45th floor, which overlooks Xuanwu Lake. It's also a restaurant where you can have outdoor afternoon tea, dinner, and more – very romantic and beautiful!

Cleanliness: The cleanliness was excellent; both the room and the lobby were spotless.
Service: The hotel service was very attentive. Our butler, Cora, contacted us even before we arrived to arrange our stay, and her service and attitude were excellent in all respects.
Environment: The hotel offers an incredible view, overlooking the entire city of Nanjing.

Our butler, Alice, provided excellent service! A heads-up for smokers or heavy smokers: it's quite inconvenient as you'll need to transfer elevators twice to reach the higher floors. Also, the cakes and desserts for both afternoon tea and the evening happy hour at the executive lounge were clearly frozen and still had ice crystals. The underground parking is shared with the mall, so there's no dedicated hotel parking. It's chaotic and has puddles.

The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, and the panoramic floor-toceiling windows offer an absolutely stunning view from the 67th floor. You get an unobstructed view of Xuanwu Lake and the city skyline, and you can watch Nanjing's sunrise and sunset right from your bed 🌇

The breakfast buffet is divine! There's such a wide variety it's hard to choose:
✅Chinese food lovers rejoice: freshly made Nanjing-style duck blood and vermicelli soup, various noodles, stir-fries, congee and soups, as well as fried dough sticks, steamed buns, and dim sum – it's like a taste of old Nanjing.
✅Western food fans will be satisfied: toast, desserts, salads, cold cuts, and freshly ground coffee.
✅There are also fried foods, miso soup, fried rice, and many other options – you could eat from morning until noon without having the same thing twice!

Head straight to the observation deck after breakfast! The expansive terrace offers panoramic views, allowing you to take in both the bustling prosperity of Nanjing city and the tranquil beauty of Xuanwu Lake. When the sun shines, it's perfect for photos, every shot looks like a masterpiece 📸
