Relais & Chateaux Yihe Mansions in Nanjing

The service isn’t good, especially at the front desk，NOT worth it.

Great location, and stylish room.

We chose this place for its proximity to Yihe Road's plane trees, eager to experience its Republic of China-era charm. The environment was naturally impeccable, and the room itself was spacious, comfortable, and spotless. The butler service was incredibly attentive, always available when needed. Being able to immerse ourselves in Yihe Road's beauty from here, especially during late autumn, was simply stunning and romantic.

I had a great stay at Yihe Mansions! I stayed a couple of nights as a break within several weeks of business in China. It's a collection of houses in a tranquil, green setting so a great antidote to the skyscraper hotels I stayed at in other places. Yes, the room decor is "atmospheric" which is a polite way to say a bit dark - a bit like some of the boutique chains such as Malmaison. So some better lighting would help. Yes, it's not all just for guests' use but the gates for "residents only" work fine. But really great as a calm oasis from which to explore Nanjing.

The ambiance was fantastic! This century-old villa truly lived up to its reputation. It's incredibly photogenic, and the service from the staff, particularly the ladies, was superb. We had quite a bit of luggage, and they were so warm and attentive!

The value for money here is exceptional! We managed to snag a pre-sale deal, paying just 1400 for two nights.

Firstly, the rooms are wonderful, having been converted from historical buildings. The interior decor has a subtle, pleasant scent of wooden furniture. Our room was spacious and very quiet.

Within the Yihe Mansion itself, there's also the hotel's private exhibition hall dedicated to the Republic of China era, which guests are welcome to explore.

Breakfast was quite good, featuring a selection of local Nanjing specialties.

The location is incredibly convenient. Just a short walk away, you'll find Leyecun, a local snack street brimming with delicious traditional rice noodles, BBQ, fried skewers, and pastries – all absolutely fantastic.

The staff were also incredibly kind and attentive, assisting us with our luggage, offering recommendations for local snacks, and even helping with food delivery pickup and drop-off.

Absolutely thrilled with my stay! The ambiance was simply incredible – truly beyond words. Both the restaurant and the staff were excellent; they were so warm and attentive, even helping with our luggage, which made us feel completely at home. The absolute highlight was staying in a Republic of China-era villa. It offered a unique charm and atmosphere that's hard to describe, truly an experience I've never had before. Highly recommended!

Far exceeded my expectations. Yihe Road is a truly iconic area in Nanjing, and you'd really be missing out if you didn't stay there to experience it firsthand. Plus, it's incredibly photogenic!

**Hygiene:** The room had no unpleasant odors, the linen was clean, and there were no insects.

**Environment:** The setting is lovely. It's a short walk to the Digital Museum and Pioneer Bookstore, and it's convenient to take a taxi to Qinhuai River and Laomendong. We could even see Zifeng Tower from the hotel entrance, and there are kittens you can pet!

**Service:** Service was generally good. The butler upgraded our room with a smile and personally escorted us there. They also offered umbrellas when it rained, which was a fantastic touch (5/5 for this!). However, there were some downsides. For instance, after checking in, a staff member opened our door directly with a key without knocking. Although the female staff member immediately apologized, explaining she had the wrong room, it made us feel quite insecure. We worried someone might open the door at night since there was no security chain. We didn't complain, understanding that service can be challenging. Additionally, none of the hotel's exhibition halls were open. The cleaning staff mentioned they aren't always open, but if operating hours are displayed, they really should be.

**Facilities:** There were too few bedside power outlets, which was quite inconvenient! The soundproofing wasn't great. We could hear certain sounds from the couple next door, which was a bit awkward with a child present. I'd suggest considering these factors when assigning rooms.

**Final Suggestion:** Regarding check-in times: Ctrip states 3 PM, but the hotel's own information states 2 PM. Hotel information across all platforms should be consistent, especially since the prices don't vary significantly!
