Beverly Guest House in Hong Kong

My mother and I stayed at Beverly Hills Chungking Mansion for one night on August 14, 2015.
This guesthouse, located in Chungking Mansion, may have a reputation for being intimidating, but in reality, there are only a number of black people working and selling things on the ground floor, and a large number of people walking around. From what I observed, no one bothered or threatened me in any way.
The rumored long elevator wait may be slightly exaggerated. On the day I stayed, there were no more than ten people waiting for the elevator at a time, with the longest wait being five minutes. The elevator moved quickly, was sturdy, and appeared fairly clean.
To stay here, you must print out your reservation and payment slip, or save it on your phone, as the concierge will need to check your documents.
The cleanliness of the room was good, and worth the 1,800 baht one-night rental with two single beds. The hot water was good and strong, the Wi-Fi worked well, and the lights were bright and the air conditioning was cool. I have a complaint about the smell of the bed and blankets. They had a musty smell, which I suspect is due to... It wasn't dried in the sun because Hong Kong has little sunshine and frequent rain, so there was no noise disturbing your sleep.
They have universal plugs and Type-C ports, so you don't need to bring an adapter. There's a shared refrigerator, a hot water kettle, and a water dispenser.
There's a shop downstairs selling essentials. There's a restaurant, probably Filipino, that shouldn't be too expensive. There's also a fruit shop, a mobile phone shop, and plenty of adapters and SIM cards.
The nearby restaurants, within walking distance, are on Lock Road and Hankow Road. They're Chinese restaurants with acceptable tastes. Prices average between 80 and 100 dollars per person.

In summary, I think Beverly Hills Chungking Mansion is worth the price. It's safe and conveniently located to and from the airport and subway. However, if you're not comfortable with crowded conditions or dark-skinned people, you might as well stay at a two-star hotel.

The location was excellent.  It is near the MTR. There are shopping stores and restaurants in the vicinity. Taxi, bus, and trains are readily available in the area.  However, we found the room very limited in space for three people. It was difficult to open the luggage of three at the same time. My knees got bruises because it came in contact with the wall by the bed. The bed area can also get an upgrade to make it appear clean.
