Reviews
Firstly, the food was incredibly repetitive – literally the same options every single day. There was no variety, no change, and after a couple of days, it became hard to enjoy meals. To make matters worse, many drinks were regularly out of stock, including some of the basics you’d expect from an all-inclusive bar. It really felt like they had stopped caring once peak season ended.
The beds were another major letdown – uncomfortable and hard, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. Not exactly the relaxing holiday we had in mind.
All in all, this hotel might work better in high season (though I’m not sure I’d risk it again), but for the high price we paid, the quality and service during the off-season were simply not acceptable. Would not recommend.
The hotel looks nice and the complex is situated in a beautiful green environment with lots of trees and nice flowers. The hotel has 2 pools: 1 activitypool focusing on children and 1 relaxpool focusing on people who love a more quite surrounding. During the first days of our stay there were many families with small children. It was a bit overwhelming in the beginning, but we managed to find the more quiet spots and times in the restaurant, so it was acceptable. We stayed mainly at the relaxpool. The hotel is very family-oriented. Dogs are also welcome, they didn't bother us at all.
All-inclusive concept: the concept was unclear to us in the beginning, so a little explanation. There is a breakfast (7-10), lunch (12-14), snack (15-17) and dinner (18.30-20.30). During these moments and in between you can get free drinks in the restaurant, lobby, taverna or poolbar. Local drinks are free of charge which include softdrinks, beer, wine and some cocktails. For example: a "jeger" is included but if you want an original Jägermeister you have to pay. You can check the beverages-book @ the bar. All drinks with * are included. We never made use of the snacktime, so we don't know what is served at that moment. The breakfast was very complete. Fruit, joghurt, bread, eggs, pancakes etcetera. The lunch was a variation of cold and warm foods with some desserts Also very complete. The dinner also had enough to choose from, but we found the meat and potato products a little oily/fat). But it is probably local-style. When waiting your turn in line to get some food at the counter, mind the hungry fellow tourists who act like zombies with their focus solely on a specific product. Unbelievable how impatient people can get when they are "on the hunt" 😉
Room: the room in the resort was ok. It was clean, but could be a little more modern. Lamp-shades and curtains definately needed an upgrade. Beds were ok too. We had a balcony but the view was really bad. We looked against the roof of the restaurant, full of cigarette-butts from the rooms on upper stores. We think it's the worst room you could get, so hopefully you'll get a better one. Rooms have airco and a small refridgerator. Wifi is good. Cleaning regularly.
Staff: cleaning-ladies (no offence, but we only saw ladies) were very polite and friendly. Felt like they are instructed to greet everybody, but that's better than being ignored. Staff at reception and bar was ok, but hard to make a deeper connection. Staff in restaurant works hard to prepare the table for new visitors. On my birthday found a bottle of wine in our room with a card from the hotel, that was a nice and thoughtful surprise!
Entertainment: during out stay only 3 times live-music. That could have been more. Maybe because we were late in the season. For children there's a kids club, they seem pretty active. After dinner, there's a shortage of sitting possibilities on the terrace or in the lobby. So if you dinner late, chances are you don't get a seat without you having to hustle for some chairs.
Facilities: the sunbeds at the pools are included. If you would like to rent a sunbed or umbrella at the beach they cost 9 euro each a day. Too bad they weren't in the all inclusive concept, because 27 euro a day for 2 beds and an umbrella is pricey for a whole week. Towel on the shore is allowed though. There is a sauna with steamcabin and a jacuzzi, some people go naked some go with swimsuit, not sure if there are rules. During the day there's a towelservice where you can swap your towelcard or used one for a fresh towel.
Overall: We enjoyed our stay very much and are very positive in general. The location is beautiful and the pools are great. Nice cities nearby: Poreç and Rovinj. The thing we disliked is that there are no designated smoking area's outside. There were a lot of smoking people. As non-smokers you are forced to sit or walk through clouds of smoke at the pool or on the terrace outside the lobby.
A special thanks goes to Dora, who always greeted us with a smile. She was not only incredibly friendly but also consistently helpful – truly a great asset to the hotel team.
We will definitely come back!
The air-conditioned could be better.
The elevator was broken after 4 days out of our 6 days stay. That made a little harder with a baby stroller.
