Hotel Scala dOro in Vodice

There are several reasons for this bad review of the restaurant. First of all, it took one hour to get the food and the waiter did not inform us about any delay. I finished my food before the rest of the table received their food. Secondly, one of the kids tried to order spareribs. They were sold out so he (the kid) found something else, a bit in a hurry. When his food was served it was a 1 kg steak, Tomahawk, that cost 10 euro per 100 gram. We were shocked. The waiter should have understood that a 13 year old kid does not eat a steak that big. It would be reasonable to inform us about the price and size of the dish since we obviously had not understood that the price was per 100 gram. We thought that he ordered a 100 g steak for 10 euro. We ordered the 20 euro house wine so I think it was pretty obvious that we were not ordering a 100 euro steak for a kid. He also did not ask how he wanted it cooked so it came back rare. He asked them to cook it longer and after a long time they brought back a new and even bigger steak, instead of cooking the first one a bit longer. Why? When we asked for a discount because of the lack of information the boss had agreed according to the waiter to a 20% discount on the bill. So we paid 85 euro for the steak. Really bad customer service and petty of the owner not to come out himself.

Loud distasteful music. Very low hygiene level. Guess what? They carried the trash from the kitchen to the exit via the main dining hall which leaves a foul smell that shocks me.
Service? Zero star as you have to wait as long as it gets.

Terrible service in the restaurant, laud dance music, mediocre food. They bring the trash container out through the eating area (smells like hell).. I wonder what the kitchen hygiene is like.

The food was ok but the waiter was so offended and unpleasant… smoking by waiter inside the restaurant is very rude… and then touching the plates without washing his hands is so disgusting…

The worst risotto of the Adriatic coast (watery instead of creamy and I think it was just regular rice cooked with a soup cube), the fish soup boring, the vegetables not evenly cooked, portions small (not that you would like any more of it but still)... Like seriously, I was shocked

We waited over 1h 45 min for our food despite it being already past 9.30 pm and the place getting emptier. We finally got our food at around 11.25pm. We complained and we got offered free dessert which was at least a nice gesture to make up for the long wait. On a positive note: the food was lovely (the fish a bit sandy though), but pricey for Vodice.
