Valamar Amicor Resort in Stari Grad

We booked this for a family of five, including three children under 9. Booked it due to being one of the only places I could find without a bad review.

We were pleased to find the reviews were right. We've had probably our favourite family holiday ever, great facilities, water slides, kids club, all safe and for the first time we felt comfortable to let the kids roam free on site. We went kayaking, swam at the nearby beach.

I'm vegan and did have to ask for additional food to be made up (there was plenty that could have catered but they didn't always put the vegan options out). They staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

We would consider going back which is the ultimate compliment I think.

The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful, and we appreciated the free upgrade! The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was great - just a quick drive to Stari Grad. I liked that the food and wine was local, but would have liked to see more local dishes included. The room was not quite as nice or luxurious as it looked in the photos, but overall it was a lovely stay!

We stayed here for 10 nights as a family of 3 which was lovely. Great resort for families. Although our little one was too young to be left at the children's club, the service they offered was amazing. The only downfall to our stay was our last day fell on the day the resort was closing for the season. This added to what felt like a rushed and pushy checkout. If we were to stay again we would make sure it wasn't right at end of the season. The vibe was strange. Our airport pickup with jet2 wasn't for several hours after we needed to leave. When we explained this to the reception staff, the response we received was poor. We paid a lot of money to stay here and travelling with a baby. It would be better for guests that the resort closed after guests had left (the following day) to offer a more overall pleasant, but relaxed experience.

The place is very well organised, so pretty and clean. The staff is absolutely astounding, Nikolina, Ante and Yunanta are the best people in the resort and it's seen the effort they put in to make this an experience no one will forget. The Maro Club is such a great idea for the younger part of the resort. The villas are really tidy and clean and room service is excelent. I ordered two cappucinos and they came in really fast. The restaurant has an abundance of options for everyone and the water park is very fun for all ages. Will recomend.

All in all, our staying was a lovely one. The place is definitely designed for family w kids. If you are looking for an option to disconnect and allow your children to have an active water time, I recommend the place.

Moreover, the food variety is enough to allow a culinary experience, esp during dinner. The staff Florencja and Yunanta are very lovely people, looking always to make your experience positive. I wish that I could meet more people like them, open heart ❤️ ones, always sharing a smile and looking after your wishes.

Villas very tidy, comfort and spacious. Food and service is amazing. My child loved the pool, especially small one. Ice cream one of the best I ever tried.

An incredible resort! Fantastic well appointed and immaculate villas in beautiful surroundings. A short walk into the lovely town of Stari Grad, also accessible by a very convenient water taxi. Fantastic restaurant with a wide variety of amazing fresh food. The grill garden was a particular highlight, beautifully lit up in the evenings. Wasps are an issue (not the hotels fault) earlier in the evening but post 8 o’clock they disappear so worth waiting to enjoy dinner a bit later. So much to do for children and families of all ages. Particular highlights were the pool and slides, outdoor cinema, kids disco and facilities in the fantastic Maro club. We could not fault any part of this holiday and would highly recommend Valamar Amicor.

Stayed for 5 nights Positives Beautiful location , villas were spacious and resort spotlessly clean. Food was good . Small beach area with safe swimming area. We hired kayaks and bikes from cabin which served hotels and staff there were really helpful advising on areas to visit. Went into town for dinner which was lovely and convenient walking distance from the hotel. Could be improved We were told the restaurant closed at 930 pmpm when in fact it was 9pm . This resulted in us missing dessert first night . We were also told the grill would also be open but it was closed. The pool area is completely built for children so no adult swimming area apart from sea. We had a couple of maintenance issues with villa which we reported ( wasps nest and sewage smell in bathroom) neither of which were resolved whilst we were there. Coffee pods were not replenished in room and restaurant service for drinks at breakfast & dinner was hit and miss. We had a great time and loved the location and had we not had issues above would have given a 5 star review

Had an amazing experience here. Came with 3 children- 8, 5 and 3. For my 8 yr olds birthday , they went above and beyond. it was amazing with a cake and balloons. The team at the kids club overall was amazing ( we had an incident with our 3 year where they tried to reach us and were calling the wrong number/ wrong child's info ) so that was a little disturbing, so I would just confirm they know your child or even write the their name on their arm:) the food overall was good and prices were reasonable for drinks. movie night was fun also ! loved the location near stari grad- adorable town to venture to.

We had a fantastic stay at Amicor Valamar! The accommodation was really thoughtfully laid out and there was lots of information about environmental impact that inspired us to be more mindful of our daily impact on our surroundings. They have a fantastic kids club where the children went willingly which is unusual! The stay was made particularly memorable due to the wonderful staff that we encountered! During mealtimes Ante would greet us with warmth and a chat before we sat down, Junanta was an incredible staff member making such an effort to look after us! Marija, Branko and Malin were so wonderful, warm and attentive. In reception, Kristina devoted time to ensure we had everything we needed and Marco was amazing looking after us and going the extra mile more than a few times! Thank you to the staff you make a very special place even more extraordinary due to your hospitality and warmth! Highly recommend this place for families!
