Guesthouse Ruzica in Trogir

Wonderful place to stay in old town. Ante was excellent host and gave many advises along with parking at his residence nearby.

Overall a pleasant place to stay especially considering the price.
Beds a bit narrow and no extra blanket, but Ante would probably have supplied them if we had contacted him.

Booked here for a week and so glad I did. The location was amazing, right in the centre of Trogir old town. Due to the very narrow streets, no vehicles can get access, so we got dropped off and walked, not far though, found it no problem. The room was clean, very pleased with it, great Aircon too. Due to the age of the old town, no balcony is the norm, but this place has a rooftop terrace, very much appreciated. The owner was very helpful too. Would highly recommend.

Very clean, basic accommodation right in the heart of Trogir. Shower plentiful of hot water and great pressure. Comfortable beds , host very helpful with extra blanket when needed. Small room but manageable enough for 4. Nights , would struggle for longer as storage is minimal.

Ante's apartments are superbly placed for exploring Trogir (see my separate review of this resort.) This is a room-only accommodation; so no bar or breakfasts. It's a few minutes' walk to the north bridge (across which is the bus station) or the south bridge (which is where the castle is and the boat ferries operate from. You are surrounded by bars, restaurants and tat shops by the dozen.The villa is spotlessly clean; the showers are powerful and there's always hot water. The TV has a spectacular range of channels (all but a few of which are incomprehensible) and the bed linen is changed once a week. There's a nice roof terrace for sunny breakfast coffee or evening nightcaps. Bear in mind, though, that although a kettle is supplied, you will have to bring your own tea and coffee to start with, at least until you can buy some locally. There's a small fridge in the room for milk, wine, little snacks and so on. The aircon is very effective and easy to control. However, what's really missing is storage space. You have a small wardrobe (not deep enough to hang dresses at full length) and there is no shelving in the toilet/shower room. A couple of small bedside cabinets and one shelf under the TV make up the rest. Power sockets are limited, so bring some extensions. So, for the duration of our time there we were living out of our suitcases and piling up toiletries on the floor. This led to a cluttered life, which is not to everyone's liking. Also, the WIFI is patchy at best and shocking at worst. The wifi equipment is bottom-end of the market stuff. When it exceeds the bandwidth, it needs resetting. Ante is a great host and will help you with anything you need, but he really needs to invest in a decent wifi network and - most of all - storage and shelving.

Comfortable stay in Trogir
It was just one night, but I had a very comfortable stay at Guesthouse Ruzica. The room was clean, and in a great location in Trogir's Old Town. Note: if you're arriving in your own car, Ante (the owner of the guesthouse) has parking available at his residence, however it is about a 10 minute walk. Not a problem if you're traveling light, and you'll probably enjoy a nice conversation with Ante along the way.

We stayed in Trogir at Villa Ruzica arranged via a British Airways package deal. The accommodation is basic but it was adequate for two people and spotlessly clean. Ante, the owner was very helpful in arranging car hire and even offered us car parking! We were able to leave our bags following check out until our transfer arrived for the airport. Accommodation perfectly placed for us to find our way around the little island and it’s many restaurants.

We had a lovely stay, warm welcome when we got to the hotel. Lovely and clean and very helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel, and we would definitely go back. Amazing holiday thank you so much...!!!

... and he had a discreet attitude. Despite the central location with several restaurants nearby, it was quite quiet at the nights. The house was difficult to find. We didn't see the narrow alley that was Subiceva street and therefore we went far too far. If you are coming from the bus station, you can turn in at a small street after restaurant Kanoba Poon Pijat ...before the slightly wider pedestrian street. -- ( I can recommend this restaurant.) - Sometimes we noticed a bad smell in the bathroom. = 4,5 points

Just returned from a 4 day break staying at Villa Ruzica. As described the rooms are basic but spotless, comfortable bed and equipped with kettle, fridge, hairdryer etc. The ensuite bathroom had a great shower with plenty.of hot water. Plus you have a wonderful roof terrace to enjoy breakfast or an evening drink. Ante couldn't have been more helpful allowing us to keep the room for our late check out. Location is amazing. 2 minutes wall to local bakery for fresh bread/pastries for breakfast or 5 minutes to an array of cafe/restaurants that offer breakfast. Supermarket/bus station 10min walk and the harbour is also 10mins through the cities streets. Local number 37 bus runs to airport €2.00 every 20mins and to Split €3.00.
