Kemerli Konak Boutique Hotel in Kyrenia

A beautifully quirky hotel (in a good way!) nestled between the mountains and the sea. A 40’ walk into central Kyrenia but this also means quieter evenings. A few minor niggles about the bed (it creaked) contrasting with lots of positives: a balcony, a well looked after pool with towels and sun parasols, air con that worked, a fan in the bathroom keeping it smelling sweet, and a delicious choice of breakfast. Staff were really helpful (especially Omar at Arches Restaurant). A gem!

The hotel outside the city center but only a few minutes by taxi. It is quiet and the views of the mountains and down to the sea are amazing. The rooms are unique and comfortable. We stayed in the main building above reception, there are 2 other buildings.

In today’s hustle and bustle world, Kemerli Konak is a true rare gem! This traditional boutique hotel perfectly captures the charm and soul of authentic Cyprus. Every detail, from the warm welcome, to the lovingly preserved décor, to the delicious traditional dishes, Kemerli Konak made me feel as though I’d stepped into a timeless haven. The property is covered with olive and fig trees and beautiful jasmine and bougainvillea blooming everywhere. The atmosphere was so so peaceful, with mountains on one side and the Mediterranean sea on the other, soothing my body, mind and soul. Viewing the sunsets in this setting was theatrical and the service was genuinely caring, especially towards a solo female traveller like myself. One night, I arrived around midnight to find no parking available, forcing me to park three streets away. When I told my dilemma to the young man at reception, he made sure to reserve a recently vacated spot just for me, marking it with a ‘NO PARKING’ sign until I was able to retrieve my car and return to the hotel. He patiently waited in the car park so that he could remove the heavy sign and ensure I parked without having to move the heavy sign myself. It was a kind and thoughtful gesture. It truly warmed my heart. The entire experience was unforgettable. I will always smile when I think of my time at Kemerli Konak, Kyrenia, Cyprus! Truth be told, I’m already making plans to return next summer!

Pretty much a perfect hotel in my book. Staff are friendly and helpful.
The breakfast food is tasty and authentic, with delicious Turkish tea.
The beds in the rooms are really comfy, with good AC/heating if needed and lovely bathrooms.
The pool is nice and relaxing, and the bridge to walk between the 2 buildings is really cool!
The cafe attached is a little pricy but the coffee is good, WiFi is good and it's a very relaxing and scenic place to sit. It's also lively with lots of young adults coming and going.

But the best thing about this hotel is the location. Nestled between the Kyrenia mountains and the sea, its setting is absolutely stunning. That combined with the aesthetic of the hotel is a match made in heaven.

I highly recommend. It feels like more than a 3-star hotel.

Excellent boutique hotel. Beautifully furnished, spacious, and comfortable, beautiful flooring, wooden beams,very comfortable beds,perfectly functional bathroom. Staff extremely friendly and professional thank you to all staff and the management team excellent service/ food service. Fourth time at hotel and booked again…. Can’t wait for our return…. If you want a unique, boutique, friendly, cosy hotel come here. Friendly check-in, a great twin room with good bathroom, comfy bed and small balcony with great view of the mountains behind and sea in front. We booked in for dinner at the restaurant that is part of the hotel, the Archway, and this is where you have breakfast (full English or Turkish) - the place has a nice bar, pool and views and the restaurant has a nice vibe, great food and wine and great service. Would recommend this place 100%

This rustic-styled boutique hotel is a secluded oasis of calm while managing to be a 30 minute amble down the hill to Kyrenia Old port and a 5 minute drive up the hill to the Kyrenia Beltway and access to the rest of the island. The hotel splits into two blocks connected by a rustic bridge. The front block has an excellent covered café and equally excellent open-air cocktail bar, both of which are popular with non-residents and always pleasingly busy. The rear bock includes a small pool and sundeck that have been correctly placed to make the most of the sun from dawn to dusk. Beyond the rear block, via another rustic bridge, is The Archway Restaurant which is a top-ten Kyrenia restaurant for good reason and which served us an excellent breakfast every morning as well as a couple of dinners during our fortnight stay. Our first-floor room in the rear block gave a wonderful balcony view of Kyrenia and the sea below us, was big enough for our needs, had a very comfortable king-sized bed, was kept spotlessly clean and had a larger than average "mini" fridge, which was a storage boon. Bottles of water and coffee/tea refills were provided every morning and a small but important detail: there were more than enough plugs in the room! All of the staff from the managers down were wonderful and endlessly helpful and gave out advice and suggestions that made the difference between having a wonderful holiday instead of just a good one. They, as much as anything, made our holiday what it was. This hotel definitely meets the criteria for being a "find" and I have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone looking to visit North Cyprus.
