At Herbal Boutique Hotel & Spa in Protaras

I am genuinely taken aback by our arrival experience. We arrived just 15 minutes ago — my mother, my five-month-old baby, and myself — were left to carry all of our luggage (two small rollers, one large 23kg suitcase, a buggy, and several bags) entirely on our own. This is highly unusual, as in my experience there is always at least someone available to assist guests upon arrival. To my further disappointment, I even had to use the hotel’s bellman trolley myself to transport the luggage to our room. A manager walked past as I was clearly struggling and did not offer so much as a word of assistance — which was both surprising and disheartening. I truly hope the remainder of our stay improves from here, as this is not only my baby’s first holiday but also a milestone 30th birthday for me. At present, however, I would be unable to recommend this hotel based on our initial experience.

I emailed to inform them I was vegan. My first breakfast nothing for me. Improved on my 2nd breakfast. I would say all the food was average.

It’s a shame that this beautiful building is so poorly operated. We stayed for 3 nights with our family of 4 and never had our room cleaned once, despite asking for it multiple times. I had to ask more than once for a fresh set of towels and for additional shampoo and conditioner. We also booked a sea view room and instead got a view of the pool. Nothing was done by management to address our complaints, it’s likely they ignored them. On our last day the pool was completely emptied and refilled, so it was not available for swimming until noon the next morning. When asking why, the explanation we got was that it didn’t look clean so they decided to clean it….disturbing response and a real inconvenience that we weren’t able to enjoy the pool in the morning. Simply put, I would not stay here again.

We went to this hotel back in June this year with friends & family , we had a great holiday and decided to go back in October for my birthday. We were having a fabulous time there and as we only do B&B were able to meet up with friends & family (who live & stay in the area) for our dinners in the evening, take walks along the coast and have our catch ups with them. BUT !!!! all that started to change when the hotel started to erect some sort of construction around the pool - moved all the loungers and were busy chopping palm trees for their palms. We asked a member of staff what’s was happening only to be told there was to be over 250 guests coming who had hired the complete hotel for their religious festival holidays and then asked us when we were leaving like other guests had been asked to leave !!! We said we weren’t leaving as we had another week to go , but we then found out and spoke to others who were being evicted from the hotel in favour of these other people arriving!! So we asked the manager would we be affected by what was happening, he categorically stood there and assured us no. !! But when these people started arriving it was chaos, there were so many . We continued with our holiday, but were made to feel VERY uncomfortable by these other guests as we were “outsiders “ and that was made very apparent. So there were still other guests of our ilk there and they were being asked to go to other hotels ! This being arranged by “said manager”, but, we still were clinging on , then finally last week on the Wednesday morning, we had heard some banging of sorts on the landing , we get up to find the water had been turned off to our rooms, thus forcing us down to reception to be told by the manager that we had to move out and that he’d booked us in another hotel (which then ended up a 15 min drive away in the middle of no where ) and ruined our second week away from our holiday with friends and family he didn’t care and he knew that there weren’t problems with pipes etc as he lied to us about the water , we know that each room can be accessed to turn off certain pipes in case of emergency He stood there barefaced lying to us and then there were other of “these guests” arriving and we heard the reception telling them that they were just waiting for us to check out and their rooms would be ready !!!!! We were treated disgustingly and lied to and our tour operator was agog at what Herbal hotel had done . It cost us heavily to stay in the new hotel as we had our holiday plans in Pernera and we were sent to the edge of Asia Nappa, it cost us travelling back to meet friends & family and lost time Happy Sukkot to the Jewish community who took over the hotel at our expense, the hotel knew they were coming and SHOULD NOT HAVE ACCEPTED THE BOOKING FOR US AND-OTHER PEOPLE FROM THE UK VIA JET2 , but they did and then evicted us to suit their own greed for money from the other party of guests - disgusting
