As many other reviews noted, this place looks much better on the website than in reality. The public areas are very nice, but the rooms are quite dated, with dented furniture, mattresses in dire need of replacement, and dirty carpet (see pictures). Mine smelled quite musty; I solved this problem by opening the window the entire time I was there, but that won't work in many seasons. The hotel is badly in need of a renovation.
Otherwise, everything was fine. The breakfasts are excellent and staff are friendly and helpful. Location is okay; easy walking distance to public transit, including some bus lines just outside the front door.

A barista makes your coffee in the morning:) you can aldo have real hot chocolate:) staff is so nice and down to earth.
And the interiors are stunning after the 2 year renovation. Cheap parking neighboorhood also.

Honestly this place is incredible!
The staff were extremely friendly, the hotel itself is either new or newly refurbished, very nice details and the downstairs was both slick but also welcoming. The room was spacious with high ceilings and nice colour scheme, one of those that exceeds expectations from the photos.
We enjoyed the free happy wine hour but didn’t get to enjoy the additional happy nightcap hour!
Breakfast was decent and staff went out of their way to help on our last day where we had missed the time slot but they got everything back out for us.
Honestly could not recommend the place enough! Thank you thank you !

This was my 4th stay at Avenue Hotel and I hope to return for a 5th. It’s a great location in a vibrant part of the city and well placed for exploring local neighbourhoods as well as getting to the main tourist attractions. The breakfasts are wonderful and the courtyard garden is a lovely spot to relax. What makes Avenue such an enjoyable place to stay is the brilliant staff. They’re all so friendly, helpful and professional.

Stayed at a standard double room over Christmas. Room was very worn with several broken things. The bed was very comfy. The toilet was freezing cold. The lounge and breakfast area is nice, even though the fireplace was not lit. Breakfast was ok, not that fresh, expected more based on other reviews. But nice that it is organic.

This hotel is located somewhat outside of the city center but on a main road so easy to find. The back yard garden/courtyard is beautiful. Comfy seating and heat lamps for chilly weather. The bar area also has comfortable seating areas and a great selection of drinks. The breakfast is amazing. Beautifully presented and delicious. The staff was very thoughtful and attentive. Highly recommend.

Charming older hotel with special character. Liked the free wine hours. Great breakfast with very healthy food. Bus station and metro station are within short walking distance. Many restaurants nearby

Everyone did go above and beyond but a lot could have been done better. It was absolutely on any of the staff , including the cleaning staff , that my parts of my experience was valued as below average.
