Hotelli Yöpuu in Kemi

Decided to stay there because of the photos and was not disappointed, this place is beautiful, especially with piles of snow surrounding it. The view from the room window was like a real winter wonderland. The whole hotel has a very nice atmosphere.
I also loved the sauna experience! It is located in the little lighthouse on the top of the hotel. You can book it for your room at the reception, so it's all just for you. Afterwards you can go out to the terrace to enjoy the view and the winter air.
Breakfast was tasty and the choices were ok, I think everyone can find something for themselves. You also have access to the shared kitchen with coffee&tea.
What really cemented my opinion of this place though was the way staff and owners were doing their best to make us feel welcome and comfortable. It was truly what elevated the whole experience. They told us about the history of the place and went out of their way to help us. I would definitely come back there, maybe in summer for comparison! :)

The only thing that can cause problems is the fact that it is a little far away from city center. I would recommend going by car or getting a taxi, especially if you have a bigger luggage. But well, you wouldn't be able to have such a picturesque spot in the middle of Kemi!

Renewed by new owners. Clean and good beds, room 302 has a small sauna, which was a huge plus when returning from kilpisjärvi. Breakfast was also a bit better than the norm.

Place is clean and quiet, with delicious breakfast, free Wi-Fi, close to motorway, and only 3km from Kemi center.

Hotel Yöpuu is located near Kemi. The central part of the hotel looks like an unfinished lighthouse. The hotel has spacious rooms and a large sitting area.
