Where to stay with kids in Lapland

The location of this hotel is excellent, only few hundred meters from ski lifts and Levi village

Worst hotel experience in Finland so far. The room was old, poorly maintained, and not properly cleaned. The key card system was a constant issue; they were unable to provide us with two functioning room cards

The family room was great, with a large bedroom and a separate bunk bed. It's a five-minute walk back to the hotel after skiing, and a three-minute walk to the shopping street. A perfect choice for Levi Ski Resort

Lovely hotel invite heart of town but lacks an indoor children's area when socialising in the lounge

Really nice rooms, very clean. The kids play room is a huge pluse if you are with kids.

The spa has 9 Saunas in total and several pools, love the tiny hot pool at 2 floor. Nice massage jets in the bigger pools

There is no better place to be sleeping in rovaniemi. Part of the Europe regulation; there are no disposal amenities. So if you want a room slipper, better bring your own else you will be walking in cold floor

Nothing fancy, but above the average hotel with choice of balls, cold cuts, fruit and pastries.  Didn’t manage to see the gym nor sauna as was busy out looking at Santa’s creation

Great location, comfortable waiting area, and parking available. There's a convenience store, mall, and supermarket nearby, which is really handy. The breakfast has a good variety, and the room was clean.

Great hotel!!! Concierge's are all extremely professional and helpful, whether it's ordering a taxi or making suggestions to local businesses. Rooms are spotless and very comfortable

Great location. There is a shopping center in front of the hotel and easy to access to the tourist company. And also the breakfast is great.

The location is smack right in the heart of town Center. There is a mall opposite, a Chinese restaurant beside and a walking 5 min to Santa town office. Not to mention bus stop is just 1 min walk

The hotel is very spacious and clean, and the location is excellent. It's easy to hail an Uber, and there's a bus stop right outside the hotel that goes directly to Santa Claus Village, which is super convenient

The location was good with bus service to major places at doorstep. Reception staff was very helpful, breakfast was good. Only thing lacking was electric kettle in the rooms and no glasses in the room

We stayed in a different accommendation where we could not leave our luggage after check out. The lady at the reception in the Scandic helped us as we stayed before two nights in the Scandic in Tromso

It was during the Christmas season, so it was a bit pricey, but it was a great stay. The next day, when I told them I couldn't eat breakfast due to a flight, they prepared a breakfast box for me

Although it is a long walk to the room, meals are included and the room is spacious, so the satisfaction level is very high.

Our room was absolutely stunning and the waterworld and kids world are great. It does get a bit noisy when the day trip people come but other than that can't fault the hotel. Really central and always warm!

It's a beautiful hotel with a lovely restaurant upstairs; however, reservations are required for the upstairs dining area. The rooms are clean and hygienic, and the windows offer views of the snowscape

I've also stayed at the Lapland Hotel in central Helsinki, and it's truly amazing. I booked a room with a sauna, and it was amazing. The sauna was amazing, and the view from the window was so beautiful it's indescribable

All the meals were delicious, and the service from the staff was excellent. They are very experienced and truly capture the hearts of their guests. I highly recommend this hotel. If you visit Rovaniemi, please stay here

Stayed at the Arctic Light Hotel for 3 nights, 23-25th November 2025. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed. The staff were attentive, friendly and easy to communicate with in every interaction

The room was very comfortable and beautifully presented and the location was fantastic in the middle of town

The receptionist lady was very nice, we arrived before the check in time but we had our room ready and she let us in. The breakfast was okay and there were microwace and cuttlery in the room too🥰🤗

This is a former Olympic training center now used by local youth as a full time training facility so there's a LOT of kids and families staying here but everyone was polite and well behaved

There are two food facilities on site - a snack bar that has sandwiches, burgers and snacks and the cafeteria used to feed the athletes and provide the free breakfast

I highly recommend the in-room sauna rooms if you can get them. Note this is an easy to get to place from the airport but there is nothing within walking distance

Great family friendly sports hotel. There is a pool, indoors playground and a bowling center within the same building. Highly recommended for eve.

Hotel Aakenus is near by City centre Roveniemi (Lapland) we stayed here one day. Delicius buffet & Break fast , Free Wi-Fi, free parking space.

There were no bathroom mats provided. the beds were not very comfortable. Breakfast timings for the weekends was mentioned as 7am - 10. 30am across all gear communication

It's quite well-located, and we absolutely loved the hotel and the very attentive staff! The lady at reception was lovely and even taught us a few Finnish words

The hotel has a sauna with separate time slots for men and women. The breakfast setup was very atmospheric, with a good variety of food, excellent quality, and a spacious dining area. We had a very enjoyable evening.

The only small drawback I'd mention is that the breakfast was a bit cold, but other than that, I'm delighted! 🥰

There seemed to be a sauna in the bathroom, but we didn't try it as we didn't know how to use it. The hotel breakfast was an English breakfast, and the hotel entrance offered views of the ski resort

The service was outstanding — staff were friendly and attentive throughout. We also loved the beautiful views from the balcony. Breakfast was included and offered a great selection

The family room was very nice, but the fifth person was considered an extra bed and slept on a sofa. The hotel ground floor was great for watching the Northern Lights, and we saw them that night

The hotel itself is well-placed in Levi and close to all the amenities, which is very handy when the temperature drops particularly low! The main reception and restaurant area of the Sirkantähti is cosy, welcoming and fairly spacious

Good hotel in town and is actually better than pictures. Comes with breakfast too and the staff kindly gave us breakfast boxes for those who can’t make it for breakfast

Meals are served as a buffet, which is very well-looked after and clean, with their being a good variety of food on offer

They also kindly told us where to go to see northern lights and we managed to spot it during our one night’s stay!

Nature explorer destination This hotel have an amazingly family friendly atmosphere. Rooms are nice and you are very well taken care of by the personnel. Free parking, sauna and breakfast

Nice stay at Kemi Scandic in Ski week. Couldn’t use pool because of cold water(around 20 degrees) but sauna and breakfast was nice. Illumination inside rooms could be enhanced to feel more lively rest everything was fine

I used this as a base to go to Rovaniemi. Our family of 4 had a lot of fun in the junior suite on the first night. It’s spacious, has a sauna, and 3 beds (1 larger, 2 smaller), enough for parents and their two kids

The only fault with my room (101) was a very loud buzzing strip light over the window but I didn’t use it so it didn’t spoil the stay

Location is great. Right next to a lake and the lake will be frozen in winter so you can see the aurora on the lake.

Yes it’s mostly a trip to take your young ones to see Santa but as an only adult couple, I adored it! We stayed in a bungalow over the road and it was very warm and equipped with everything you needed

It's a bit of a walk from the check-in point, but it's a good hotel. Hotels around Rovaniemi are quite expensive, so I chose this hotel, but for those who don't mind walking a bit, I think the location is not too bad.

There were also facilities where you can learn about the Northern Lights and Finnish nature, as well as a large supermarket, within walking distance, so there were no problems

The check-in location is different from the accommodation location; it's a 10-minute walk. The rooms are comfortable, and there's a kitchen in the hotel where you can cook.

The public buses to Levi stop right outside the hotel, and although there were a couple of occasions where we experienced quite significant delays, the service was OK Top tip - use Uber taxis rather than the (often twice as expensive) ‘for hire’ ones if needing to get back from Levi after the last public bus

Our twin room was fine/functional, with a well-powered shower. Breakfast was included in the price and was pretty reasonable although there wasn’t a huge choice. The bar (same area as for breakfast) was cosy at night

All the staff we experienced at the hotel were really helpful and attentive, although often the reception wasn’t manned so you had to go to the restaurant (which was fine). Overall a great no-frills choice

22 year-old daughter and I had a 5–night stay at Hotelli Kittila, arriving on New Year’s Eve. We were looking for a cheap(er) alternative to staying in Levi as we were skiing on a tight budget

A cozy Finish hotel directly on skiing tracks (one does not need a car if comes here for cross country skiing as the bus from the airport stops directly before the hotel)

Rooms are very clean, sauna is rather small and old but still ok. Breakfast buffet is very good, dinner buffet is a bit less good (especially for the price)

The apartment building is separate from the main hotel which had breakfast, bowling and swimming which my family all enjoyed. The hotel is a bit out of town so we used taxis but these were easy enough

For anyone not staying at the Santa sport hotel, you can still come here and use the gym for less then 10 euros. Great if you are a tourist who is just looking for a gym thats open
