Although sold as a family friendly hotel, spa only for 16yo or more. And this you find out only after you book and pay, in my case, with no refund, because they send you an email. No transparency at all. Fitness center poorly equipped and with strict schedule and rules, even if it doesn’t make sense. Regarding the hotel itself, by the structure, rooms and etc, 3 stars would be fair. It’s not a 4 star hotel.

Visited Saturday, August 30, 2025. We came all the way from Lyon... Thank goodness the spa has just been renovated!!! What a joke... the indoor pool is so cold it's impossible to bathe in it for more than 5 minutes... the swan neck fountain doesn't work... everyone flocks to the outside pool, of course, where the pool doesn't seem to be 32 degrees either 🤣. The hammam is also out of order; only the sauna works, yay!! We're told there's a technical problem... which won't be fixed tomorrow either... great!! If you still want to relax in the tea room... well, get your tea, there isn't any 🤣, just water with two slices of lemon. As for the grounds, the park is beautiful, but the avenue next to it ruins all the peace and quiet with the noise of the vehicles; it's difficult to relax on a sun lounger. In short, I'm not judging the treatments because I didn't have any, but if you're coming to enjoy the pools... run away... it's a complete rip-off. When you read other reviews of the spa online (which I should have done beforehand...), you realize it doesn't seem to be very operational. We expressed our dissatisfaction to the hotel reception that same evening, especially since no one had informed us of the problem at check-in. They said, "There's nothing we can do, we're sorry, we'll make a note so you can see the manager tomorrow morning, who will be there..." The next morning, of course, no one came to see us. Check-out was done with the same person as the day before, but not a word, not a gesture of goodwill. So we warned them that we were going to write a negative review, to which they replied: "Yes." Admittedly, the room is spacious and beautiful, the hotel nicely decorated, and the breakfast is good too, but everything hinges on the details: a lack of customer service, the outdoor parking lot not lit at night, total darkness to get to the hotel when walking, forcing you to use your phone for light, dishes lying around on the floor in the hallways, no complimentary toiletries in the room... For a hotel of this rating and at this price (€190 for a room with breakfast), frankly, we feel ripped off. We came to celebrate an important event and treat ourselves, but nothing works and nobody cares. We would have been better off going to the Ibis next door. Sure, the spa isn't included there, but at least it was significantly cheaper and we wouldn't have felt ripped off (plus, it has a pool on the terrace!). We're used to traveling and staying at Accor hotels, but this was a huge disappointment. In short, avoid it; there are surely much better options than Aix…

We stayed at the Mercure for 3 nights, and we will not reiterate. We booked a privilege room with terrasse. Cons. - There was no desk in the room, hence, extremely unpractical to work. - The internet connection is so slow, you cannot attend a simple online meeting. - The shower was a complete mess: on the second day the shower hose broke and sprayed all over the bathroom. Third day, the rainfall shower had so much flow (even on minimum) that it flooded the bathroom. - The terrasse had an alrightish view with the top of the mountains, however, it was direct on the passing road (quite noisy during the day) - There is a railway track nearby, and the noise is loud enough even with the window closed. - The staff is kind but not trained, 4 people were needed to find an answer to our question regarding their own services. - If you're an Accor member (even Diamond), you do not get any benefit out of your stay: no priority check-in lane, only one welcome drink for the Accor member, no breakfast, no enhanced internet. Still wondering why they pay the Mercure franchise... Pros - Location near the Revard and Chambéry - Access to the spa facilities (did not use though)
