Where to stay in Bordeaux

We stayed at Maison du Lierre for one night during a long weekend in Bordeaux and I can honestly say that I could not fault it one bit. I had a lovely room with balcony. Bright and spacious. Number 14. Everything is very tastefull styled and of high quality. I slept very well. In the morning a fresh breakfast in the garden; what could you wish more for?. For solo travellers: A lot of art and design magazins in the common room. Friendly and helpfull ladies at the receptiondesk.

A boutique hotel in the very heart of Bordeaux, with great amenities and customer service. Even though there is no lift, the staff has no problems helping you with the luggage. The car parking arrangement worked great.

Pleasant centrally located small hotel. room comfortable; fresh brioche, croissants, lots more at breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful. Note there is no elevator, but we were able to manage the 70-step staircase up to our room with no problem. Staff cheerfully helped with our bags upon arrival and departure.

A charming hotel within a few minutes walk to the city centre. The room was clean and comfortable and pleasantly quiet at night. We stayed on the top (3rd) floor which was fine for us but there is no lift (as was made clear when we booked) which could be a challenge for some. The breakfast on the terrace was fabulous and all the staff went out of there way to be helpful.

The first thing you should know is that there is no lift and whilst there are only 2 floors of rooms and a breakfast room floor, there are a lot of windy stairs. Two day visit, pretty basic hotel but comfortable & all amenities worked & worked well. Decent €8 breakfast. Centrally located, easy access to the airport & cultural centre of the city. No lift so it's a slog if you're on the upper levels, a minor niggle for me, might be more important for others.

Great location with great potential. Although the team was nice and welcoming, the reality doesn't match with the pictures online. The room not really cleaned, the bathroom with strong smell of humidity and sewer. The carpet in the room wasn't in the best shape, as well as the chair (dirty, never been cleaned!) This is a great place stay while visiting the old town ofBordeaux. Very good service, comfortable bed, conditioner. We booked last minute, so there were no more place available at the hotel, but we parked a cat at the public underground Q-park nearby. Musty smell in the lobby sitting area it needs ventilation and the rooms too. The bathroom didn’t have good ventilation and felt very humid in the room. I was in the front building and the room had an old carpet with stains. A hole on the wall too. Lovely little boutique hotel in the centre of Bordeaux. The breakfast was excellent and the charming lady at breakfast (sorry I forgot your name) made us feel welcome and was so friendly. The room was roomy and immaculately clean. Perfect location to explore Bordeaux and in a quiet side street.

Stayed here with my girlfriend a few weeks ago on a trip through the city. The room was exactly what we needed - clean, well put together, very comfy bed, and comfortable private bathroom. We found the staff to be very kind and accommodating, and the location was nicely off the beaten path, but very close to the main center of town. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone, 10/10 stay!

The room was clean. Comfortable bed. No frills. No hair dryer. No water.... Small thin towels... No info received how to get in. Did not respond to any emails. Arrived at 22.30. It was affordable and perfect location. However we were on the top floor so there was 84 stairs to get to our room. The room was small which we expected but there wasnt even room on either side of the bed to get in or out. We had to crawl to the end of the bed to access it. Very very very tiny. This hotel is really great! The room is clean and comfortable, the facilities are complete, and the service staff is warm and thoughtful. The location is excellent and there are many attractions around. I will choose this hotel again on my next trip!

Complimentary tea or coffee would be nice. Other hotels had coffee and tea in the room. The staff was really exceptional and the rooms were always cleaned every day. However, there seemed to be an issue with the plumbing in the shower. The water was not draining properly.

Although the property is very cool-architecturally, the inside needs some updating. Carpet is dirty and painting chipped. Stairs are narrow and steep with no lift, so bringing luggage up flights of stairs is a bit of a burden. The gals in lobby are sweet and nice, but limited on what they are able to do. Also, there is a 4 Euro charge for coffee or tea which was not communicated until checkout.

We were so happy to have chosen to stay at Maison Bastide. Patricia gave us such a warm welcome and spent time explaining the sights, restaurants etc. with a local map. The bed very comfortable and lovely breakfast on the outside terrace with local cheeses, meats, yogurt, jams and breads. Nice plunge pool and garden for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. An excellent room, small but perfect for the two of us, with kitchen. Very accommodating host who greeted us upon arrival even though we arrived very late at night. Wonderful breakfast each morning with freshly squeezed orange juice and homemade yoghurt. Excellent accommodations a couple blocks away from old town or an easy tram ride depending how far you want to go. The manager was immensely friendly and helpful. The stairs, though, no lift, are almost vertical! Still 5 stars.

The level of hospitality and warmth from the proprietor and his son is such a rarity. We felt so welcome and well looked after. Would 100% recommend this to anyone visiting Bordeaux. Location is excellent.

We had a lovely stay at Churchill Hotel in Bordeaux! The room was very charming, well designed and restfully quiet! The staff were extremely welcoming and warm! They even let me play their piano which was wonderful! We will definitely go back !

We stayed in the Palais Royals room and loved it! It was beautifully updated and the entire property was well appointed and thoughtfully decorated. The pictures didn’t do it justice. Fabrice was a lovely host and we will definitely recommend to friends.

It was a pretty good accommodation experience. I had a lot of fun outing. The room was very clean and the staff was very enthusiastic. The breakfast there was also very good. I was very satisfied with the overall effect. The surrounding environment is also very good.

We really liked the possibility of leaving the car in the free car park in the area that closes at night and getting around from there by public transport. The pool was very useful in this very hot month of August and there is a supermarket within the premises in the service area. The room met our expectations and the views of the lake were exceptional. Convenient, clean and well-located hotel for an evening at the new Bordeaux stadium.

Great, big rooms with bathroom and small kitchen. Air condition available. We also had big balcony with chairs and table, big window and great view to the lake. I didn't use pool, but it was avaliable to use also. Good service. Highly recommend.

To be honest I didn't know Adagio, but it was a great surprise! Perfect location in order to get to the city center by walking. Spacious and clean room and comfortable bed. At the reception people were kind and helpful and I much appreciated it. I would suggest it for sure for your stay in Bordeaux!

Bright studio apartment with no overlooking neighbors. Separate toilet. Separate shower and bathtub. Small kitchenette. It would have been nice to have coffee pods.

The location is good, in the city center. Although it's an apartment-style hotel, the dishes in the cupboards were poorly clean, and there was even an unpleasant odor coming from the cupboards – a real shame!

Nice place to enjoy Bassins. It was great. We enjoyed our stay. I can’t appreciate the breakfast, but it’s the same at every B&B. Other than that, B&B is perfect.

Les bassins de lumière This site is Perfect to visit « les bassins de lumière »near of restaurants and not far from thé city of vine.

Price. Take that in to account and all is well. No its not the best or classiest or what ever. Its no frills place for you to sleep and shower and have a deccent breakfast in the morning. That is it. I would almost call it a bargain

We thank the B&B hotel for finding us an arrangement (date change). Very warm welcome from the host present that evening at 10:30 p.m. who was able to manage the multiple setbacks with humor and professionalism. We needed a hotel for one night, near Gare St. Jean and this one resuted in a great place. The room is confortable enough for a one night stay, and is really close to the station. The people at the Front Desk was very helpfull and kindness.

Paul R. from concierge was amazing. He planned our upscale trip to Medoc region and also scrambled to set up a great day for us in St. Emillion. We could not have done it without him. We highly recommend this hotel for their customer service and location.

Splendid hotel and well located in old city. The staff were exceptional. Always very friendly and helpful. The English concierge ( who spoke fluent French ) gave us some great tips on nearby restaurants and recommended a wonderful wine tour to the left and right bank which was so informative and personal. Money well spent !! I would highly recommend this hotel in such a vibrant and beautiful city....

Overall the stay was great! Bed was comfortable and the accommodations were great for a hotel in the city. I didn’t rate it 5 stars because the front desk knew that we were parking but didn’t give us the pass to park so we had to paid full price. BUT they did help by comping the next days parking and gave us food recommendations in St Emillion.

The staff in all areas were very attentive. Our room was interesting with a large tub taking up much of the floor space but other than that fantastic. Everything was clean. We enjoyed the turndown service getting fresh towels and minibar restock. Robes and slippers were nice. Breakfast about average for hotels of this class in France. Although they did offer champagne we didn’t see anyone drinking...

The staff was great and the conceierge was extremely helpful in finding us a reputable tour guide to take us around Bordeaux . The guide was a local man who spoke decent English and spent an entire day with us. He was fantastic !!! We loved our stay here and in Bordeaux .

Made recommendations for us and reservations for our dining experience and also transportation they really went above and beyond when we come back to Bordeaux we will definitely stay at the La boutique Hotel and Spa.

We just stayed for one night. We used this B&B years ago, and unfortunately, the hotel has dropped in quality. The only thing that is still excellent is the staff! The facilities need some upgrades!

Cheap overnight stay with dogs Cheap place to stay just around the main drag of Bordeaux. Really an over night stop, not much around for food/drink so be prepared to drive or UBER eats delivery. Not a good service We received our room outside hand soap and towels. We didn’t had hand towels or face towels we were 4 and didn’t have enough towels. I told the person at the reception and he told us I will being it to your room. But we when to visit and when we got back the person was gone and no soap or towels.

Nice location, clean and well located right next to Cité du vin. Parking spots nearby are free although not always available. There is a parking garage next to it not too expensive. Hotel rooms are large and with a well equipped kitchenette. It’s A bit outdated but it has been perfect for the price and what we needed.

Location is good, just a short tram ride from the downtown core, and an easy walk from the tram stop. Service was great at the hotel as well, and the rooms were fine...except that it smelled bad from time to time and the shower was not properly angled, and water went all over the floor when you used it. Hard to recommend given these issues.

Good evening. Even if the place is pleasant; It should be noted that it is very difficult to park, the work on rue de Gironde is not helping matters in terms of traffic. Small complaints: strong odors from pipes in the room throughout our stay, the breakfast tables were not cleaned when we went to the restaurant. Finally to close this chapter, our room card had not been scheduled for our second night...

I used this hotel for the second time...I used it to rest because in Bordeaux I am on the middle of my travel and this hotel is a really great solution in terms of quality price. Really have the perfect features for me and my family. Probably was not my last stay in here!
