La Citadelle Hotel Metz - MGallery Collection in Metz

The hotel is well located near the center of Metz, but also very close to the motorway. I loved the old building, it has a lot more charm than a new glass and steel one. We were afraid we wouldn't find a parking spot, but that wasn't a problem after all. The room (318) was a good size, but it showed signs of damage, especially the bath, which had deep gouges in it. This let the overall experience down. The breakfast was very good and well worth the price.

The receptionists were very helpful, both evening and morning.

Parking was limited and we appeared to get the last space. The retracting bollards on entry are nerve racking when you can't see them in a low car!

We stayed two nights at the Citadelle, and our stay couldn’t have been more perfect.

The location is ideal: right on the edge of the historic center. You get the convenience of being able to drive directly to the hotel and park right in front (private parking), while still being only about 50 meters/yards from everything you might want to explore.

The hotel itself is stunning, set in a historic building with one-meter-thick walls that keep the rooms incredibly quiet day and night. There was even an event at the hotel during our stay, with music in the evening, and we didn’t hear a single sound from our room.

The rooms are beautiful, spacious, well decorated, and spotlessly clean.

The service is truly five-star, and the breakfast....oh, the breakfast! It was one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had, including some of the sumptuous ones I’ve experienced in Asia.

Honestly, I’d return to Metz just to stay at the Citadelle again.

Super hotel located in impressive building!Very friendly staff. We booked via the website which was very transparant, easy and clear (cheaper then via booking.com or other). They have a private parking for 18 euros per night (also on the website and/or in the booking confirmation) wich is very convenient. The location is great (quiet place but still in city center). As hotel owner (in Belgium), I look at the details but everything was great and the room was really clean! Checkin and checkout went very smooth! Breakfast was also nice (different types of bread, croissants, eggs, bacon, fruit,….) and everything you want was available. Room was very big and we had a great bed. It really deserves to be a 4-star hotel! We will come back! Thanks to all staff!

The rooms were large, but unfortunately, the silicone sealant in the bathroom had obviously been broken for some time, and the water damage was already visible. The service at the reception desk was super friendly.

A former military stronghold from 1558, this is an amazing hotel located 5 minutes from the historic town center. My room was huge and nicely decorated with a very comfortable bed. Nice views to the park across from the hotel.
Friendly and helpful staff. Nicola was especially helpful and even gave me a short history of the town.
One of the most unique hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The rooms are impeccably clean and very reasonably priced. Quiet and peaceful. Highly recommended.

We really didn’t expect the hotel to be located in such a beautiful park. Surrounded by historic buildings. Accor have converted a sticking period building, the former Citadel into a very welcoming and well run hotel. Stylish decor. Well designed and equipped rooms with very quiet and efficient air conditioning. Very professional and welcoming receptionist. We would recommend dining at the hotel. A very good fixed price menu is available. Our only reservation is that the hotel does not have a decent convivial bar area. We will definitely be exploring further Accors MGallery portfolio of hotels .
