Passive aggressive, bigoted staff. Locals in the area casually threatening violence and gay bashing.

Other guests were similarly bigoted, threatening and gay bashing. Which seemed encouraged by the staff.

My rating for this hotel is much more related to the lack of attention and care for the customer, than the quality of the room.
The hotel does not have a 24-hour reception, and the booking says that it closes at 10 pm. I had scheduled my arrival for Saturday at 7 pm (two nights of reservation), but I had problems on the highway and arrived at 10:15 pm. So, reception closed, no one answered the phone. I had to book another hotel in town and pay for what was available. The next morning I went to the hotel, as my reservation was for 2 nights. The reception person didn't speak a word of English, and I was lucky to have my daughter with me who spoke French. He argued that it was my mistake for not notifying him of the delay the day before, and that he tried to call me by phone. I ask: in the 21st century, who makes a call to an international number, and without speaking English??? If he had sent me an SMS or whatsapp message, everything would have been resolved. I checked in with him, went on my tour and returned (Sunday) around 5pm. The booking also said that the reception did not open from 12pm to 6pm on Sundays. In the room there was just towel for one person, and I waited until 6 pm to request another one, since we were in two people. Reception did not open again. I had to look for clean towels in a storage door on another floor. The next day when I left, the same person who checked in the day before said that he would have to charge the two nights, even though I had not used the first night. He just didn't charge me for breakfast that day. I found it to be completely disrespectful to the customer.
