Car park full when we arrived. Cramped bedroom

Was 30c or so outside and had no aircon, the room with 5 of us in was like a furnace. Generally it had the bare minimum in it to be classed as a hotel room and not a single thing extra. Staff were friendly and wasnt too far of a walk into the city center.

Booked T very late notice. Arrived an hour after booking with no issues. Checking in and instruction easy and clear. Password for wifi and access instructions clear. Car park was full but we did arrive late but plenty of on street parking out the front of hotel.

The purpose of our stay was to be close the EHPAD Henry Dunant to visit a friend. It was convenient and having dining option was great. The staff was welcoming and the facilities were very clean.

After a long drive we were looking forward to a good night sleep. Unfortunately this was not to be, the room was very cramped for 5, 2 adults and 3 teenage children, it was very hot and there was only a tower fan in the room which made no difference. This little hotel is more like a Bed & Breakfast! The proprietors are attentive and keep the property immaculate. We ate in the dining room for several meals and it was really good. The rooms were comfortable. Caen is a very special place, easy to navigate and full of charm. The hotel is walking distance to a top notch boulangerie (Bon Ble) and a well-stocked market. I highly recommend getting picnic...

We stayed here in 2014 while following my father's footsteps to hill 67 in Aug 1944. Really enjoyed our stay and the front sitting room with a bottle of wine. I would return.

Breakfast was good. The room was small. Some hooks for towels to dry would have been a good idea! Frosted glass door to the bathroom made for very indiscreet toilet visits!!!

Perfect bed, hard to wake up. Way better breakfast than Ibis Style. Proximity to train station is key. Quiet neighborhood. 15mn to Castle and Vaugueux dining area.

Had two days in Caen exploring the local area. Lovely hotel and easily accessible to get out into the countryside from. Parking is ok, but shared, but they allowed me to put my motorcycle in their garage. All the staff were super helpful. Great breakfast, get better than most! Would stay here again if in the Caen area.

Overnight before catching the early ferry Overnight stay before the ferry home early next morning, so was unable to have breakfast. The hotel reception and rooms have been refurbished since our previous visit two years, which has made a big improvement, the corridors are still the same, but the main areas had been addressed.

Had a great 2 nights stay, pre catching the ferry back to Portsmouth. Plenty of Parking within hotel grounds, had 2 Jack Russell's with us which were made welcome and because the hotel was very quiet, the dogs didn't make a sound. Restaurant close by and 2 big supermarkets 3 minutes walk away. Didn't have breakfast in the hotel but it was available. Staff very friendly, spoke much better English...

Great hotel with reasonable prices. Perfect if you want to stay in Caen without spending a lot of money. Room and beds are very comfy and reasonable breakfast.

The hotel is located next to a restaurant, with a lot of parking spaces. We had a modern room with airco, separate (modern) bathroom and toilet. The breakfast was okay, and the staff was friendly.

Lovely receptionists, quick booking in, complimentary tea and coffee at all times from the restaurant, clean comfy room. Dining room nice, and we had breakfast which was nice, mainly continental as we would expect, but also boil your own eggs, bacon, scrambled egg and sausages.

We just left the hotel with our school class and have to say that this is the best place we’ve ever stayed! The staff is extremely service minded, accommodating and helpful, very kind to the kids and understanding of our needs! Good locations but people were yelling in the middle of the night for hours

There's no hairdryer. The vending machine on the first floor doesn't give change. There are quite a few rough people around the building. Still, it's fine for a single adult male.

Close to the train station but a bit noisy at night. Good value for money, breakfast was nice, and the service was warm and friendly.

The hotel is in a good location, close to the train and bus stations. The room was small and clean, but the bedside was a bit dusty. There was a non-removable clothes hanger on the bunk bed, which was poorly placed and could easily hit your head. Amenities were limited, with no hair dryer or kettle. Front desk service was good.

Very good place to stay for a few days as part of a stopover or a short stay.

Location was good but the room was extremely small and inconvenient. No space to put your belongings. There were some shelves in the bathroom. Breakfast was included but it was very basic.

Could not have asked for anything more from this little gem. The lady on reception was very welcoming and informative. I had a parking space booked and she kindly explained the exit process for the next day. The hotel is in the heart of Caen and would go back again. Nice and clean - within easy reach of bars and restaurants. Highly recommended.

It was a nice hotel. It looked like it had been remodeled recently. Our room was spacious. I know AC is not a big thing in Europe but given that the rooms look like they had recently been renovated I was a little surprised that they had not added AC. Good location hotel Very good hotel, the location is excellent which right in the center. Close to all places you want to go. You if you drive here, public packing is available, only 2-3 mins walk. Price is also reasonable if you plan to pack over night. I only paid 30 Euro for 3 days.

Our second stay in Caen but this was our first stay here, the staff were very friendly and helpful the gentleman who was on bar and restaurant duty in the evening Was great we thought he was English but it turned out he was French and local but spoke English extremely well. Nice evening meal.

A really super hotel for a stay in central Caen. Clean and comfortable with very friendly staff. Everything is in easy reach and a wealth of places to eat and drink are very close by.

The Hôtel La Fontaine is highly recommended. It is so tastefully decorated and very clean and quite. The customer service provided is above and beyond what we have typically experienced….perfect!

Very central location. They have 3 floors but no elevator, so that’s something to keep in mind. The stay was comfortable for a short two days. No complains.

Room was nicely decorated and very clean. But it was very small. Also no lift a four storey building so if you on top floor like us a lot of stairs to climb. Breakfast was very poor and could be improved. No eggs or yoghurt. No fresh milk only long life milk. Car parking at €22 per day is a bit stiff. Admittedly hotel doesn't own car park. But i think hotel should try and make alternative arrangements...

A wonderful stay in the centre of Caen. The hotel is quaint clean and the room was spacious and lovely. We had a good fan, a welcome addition during the heatwave. A lovely view into Caen and close to restaurants and touristic attractions. We highly recommend!

This hotel is great! Only one thing I want to mention is the shower booth that the bottom of the glass door’s packing is off, as a result almost of the water from shower leak to the bathroom floor.

It wasn't a Hotel as we expected, hours were a bit different, but they gave us a code and we entered. The room was comfortable, with hot pot, towels, etc. free parking on the street

This is a small charming hotel, quite typical in Europe, in a great location. Small but comfortable room. The staff was friendly and helpful and responded quickly to my inquiries. We had a late checkin (the hotel is actually closed at night) but we were given an entry code and access to a key box for the key to our room. It all worked very well.

The attentiveness, of Sebastian, was amazing!!! We arrived late, for breakfast, so he opened up, for us & we enjoyed a great start to our holiday. He was so obliging & nothing was too much trouble. On our return trip he was there & it was so humbling to see his gestures of "From the heart." Stayed and use Ibis on my tours of France, but this Ibis is tired and in need of a refit.. Staff were very friendly and helpful but my room was on the small side and with no air con sleep took a while to happen !! But I didn't pay a lot so you can't argue too much, used again on return to ferry and as it was cooler, was much better, but didn't change the fact it's tired. Secure car park was a plus

Clean and easy The hotel was fine - someone was there to check us in though we had been sent a code. The room was tidy and clean. The breakfast was simple but perfectly acceptable. Only down side was the couple having a screaming row outside our window for what seemed like an hour but there was no one around to ask them to stop as they would not stop when we asked

We only stayed for 1 night. Free parking, very cheap. Room was ok, quite small. The bathroom was ok, towels supplied. Room was old and could do with a makeover, had a small window which faced over the car park. Had a small heater which worked well and warmed the room. The lady on reception was really lovely and friendly. You can get breakfast here and the location is near a supermarket for any provisions...

Staff was excellent. Breakfast delivered to the room was a bonus. The room was sizable. My only downside is that we could hear people sneeze in the room beside us and people walking across the floor above.

A nice little hotel, very centrally located. Easy walking distance to the train station, chateau, abbayes and restaurants. Room was spacious and clean. Staff were wonderful, and the evening clerk gave us lots of advice for where to eat, the best things to do, and how to get there.

The owner of the hotel was extremely nice and courteous. The room was quiet and clean! The location was also perfect! Every morning he brought us breakfast to our room and it was the best way to start the day! We looked forward to seeing him every morning and our breakfast. We can’t thank him enough for everything! Also, there is no lift, only stairs to the upper floors. Parking was simple as there is a large car park opposite. Easy to find location, but terrible sound absorption and you can hear your neighbours walking on the wooden floor and parties nearby. Only two sockets for the whole room, no hair dryer, bedsheet is not the cleanest.

The place is old and small but rooms have been renovated nicely in the recent years. The people are extremely friendly! The location is right in the centre, almost next to the old castle, all the restaurants and shops.

Easy to find ref local transport from the station. I was on a work visit ref local history of Normandy. Room large. Warm. An attached twin. Bathroom was fine somewhat dusty ref radiator. Shower not good. Funny flow and aeration. Ground floor stank of a peculiar smell. Outside ref patio dirty and needs a proper jet wash. Shame as beautiful limestone. Some strange lighting system on the patio...

Fabulous stay! Many folks stay in Bayeau when visiting the beaches of Normandy but Caen is less touristy! This small boutique hotel is not far from the beaches and offers a glimpse of local life. It was adorable and great location. The service was excellent. Our charge, as we thought was about $100. But at checkout it was additional 90. We were told to "come, in it's free" regarding breakfast, it was not. Too much $ for breakfast.

I was on a family trip to Normandy, staying in Caen for three nights. We had the Blue Room and the Green Room and everyone loved this small, beautiful hotel. The location of the hotel and the reception staff were so helpful

It was a bed and breakfast night. It's a bit far from Caen, but the tram is right outside the hotel. At breakfast, the lady who serves breakfast was a bit rude, but the breakfast was quite good. Downstairs, as soon as you walk in, you can refill your water bottle for free. And the heating in the room works great. I would upgrade the kitchen to a fully equipped one.

We spent a pleasant weekend at this establishment. The young woman at reception is smiling and friendly unlike the young man also present this morning at reception. The bedding was quality and the room was properly soundproofed.

Budget friendly comfy For what you pay and what you get it’s ideal. Comfy affordable and within a safe car park. Superfast free WiFi. Can’t complain for what it costs.

Overall, it's very good. It's very close to the train station and there are large shopping malls and supermarkets nearby, which are very convenient. I especially like the breakfast, which is very rich and has freshly squeezed orange juice to drink, which is very good.
