Nice hotel. Convenient parking

Great central location with comfortable underground parking.
Friendly and welcoming staff.
However the hotel is more of a 3 stars level in great need of refurbishment throughout.
Rooms are small and sadly decorated with very basic amenities.

Good day, I have to share an unpleasant experience at the Mercure Hotel in Avignon. I went to the hotel and asked if I could use the hotel toilet and what followed exceeded all expectations. the staff from the reception spoke very rudely and insultingly. there was a lack of any decency. it does not reflect well on French hospitality and not at all on the training of the staff... I will definitely choose any hotel because the behavior of the staff was shocking and offensive!

The hotel is well located to walk to the main attractions in Avignon, Palace of the Popes and the bridge [Pont Saint-Bénezet]. Staff were helpful and friendly and made a phone call on our behalf for our car hire the next day. There is a car park underneath if you have a car. The restaurant was lovely in decor with both inside and outside setting but had a limited menu, however the food was great. The hotel carpet and walls are dark green and purple and need a refresh to lighter colours. Rooms and bed were comfortable.

Overall everything was great for our holidays in Provence and we decided to choose Mercure Hotel as our base for 4 nights. Maybe for the breakfast buffet they could able to manage more various kind of options each day, and for the restaurant menu as well we didn’t have option else for burger or salad. For the rest all good. Thanks Mercure

Easy to walk into the town.
Very friendly staff. All spoke better English than my French but were very happy for me to try out my limited vocabulary 🤣
Nice room with ensuite, air con, tv, kettle and complimentary t-bags/coffee pods.
Lovely outside restaurant area.
Highly recommend 👌

Transportation is fairly convenient; taxis can go directly into the parking lot, and the elevator goes directly to the lobby. There are some stairs, which aren't ideal for strollers. It's very close to the Papal Palace, a 3-4 minute walk.

The breakfast was good, the freshly squeezed orange juice was excellent. You can bring your own water bottle to go, but it's best to drink it within 1-2 hours.

The rooms are rather small and don't have much of a view. It can be a bit noisy with the windows open.

The service was okay; tipping would be appreciated 😂
