Goldstar Apartments & Suites in Nice

Absolutely unacceptable experience.

This hotel advertises itself as a 4-star property, but our stay was nowhere near 4-star standards. We stayed for 4 days and not once was our room cleaned. No housekeeping, no fresh towels, no replenishment of basic amenities. At that point, it felt more like an overpriced Airbnb than a hotel.

To make matters worse, the room was in terrible condition. The toilet seat was broken, the shower handle was broken, and the refrigerator was leaking water onto the floor. It seemed like maintenance had been neglected for a very long time.

The building and rooms are extremely outdated, and even the elevator was unreliable, sometimes working and sometimes not.

What is most frustrating is that more than three weeks after our stay, we still have not received the security deposit that was taken from us. We have contacted the property and are still waiting for their response.

We paid a significant amount of money expecting a comfortable stay on the French Riviera, but instead this hotel became one of the worst parts of our trip to Nice. Between the lack of cleanliness, broken facilities, poor maintenance, and the unresolved deposit issue, I cannot recommend this property to anyone.

Definitely not worth the price, and certainly not deserving of a 4-star rating.

It was really not a pleasant stay. Hotel is outdated and very old. I died from hotness in the night and airco didn’t work at all. Everything feels disgusting and so used. It definitely needs a big retouch everywhere!

The staff on the other hand was very polite and professional , loved them.

I don’t even get how they deserved 4 stars and can still rent rooms way to expensive for what it is. Don’t base it on the mixture they have online as it doesn’t look like this anymore.

We stayed at the Goldstar Hotel for 6 nights. The main reason for choosing it was the parking option. And the proximity to the promenade.When we arrived at the hotel reception, it was explained to us to our surprise that we were only entitled to room cleaning once e
In our 6 days!! This fact was of course not specified in the booking. The lobby was covered because there was renovation work on the elevators. This meant that there was no lobby to sit in. Using the elevator was only possible in the service elevator. The room was large, spacious and clean, as was the bathroom. Since we arrived in October, the air conditioning only worked for heating. Luckily there was a portable ventilator in the closet. Breakfast was served at the hotel across the road, Best Western Plus Hôtel Brice Garden Nice. Which also shares parking with the Goldstar Hotel. However, it has a lovely garden, some pleasant seating areas and a bar. A warning about the car: you should arrive with a small and not high car.
I think the hotel should have compensated us, or at least informed us that it was under renovation. I'm sure we would have changed the booking as long as it was possible. We will not return!
