Garden Palace in Zugdidi

Despite the great location, I would not recommend staying at this hotel, especially on the top (4th) floor, where the restaurant next to the hotel room plays music at maximum volume until 23:30. Also, the poor breakfast, which is until 11 am, some meals was gone by 10:00. P.S. The stains on the walls of the room, the spider web in the lamp, the wobbly leg of the chair, and the lack of a coffee machine are secondary.

Very disappointing experience with the cafe and hotel service.

My husband and I chose this hotel primarily because of the convenience of having a cafe where I could work. Prior to booking, I visited the cafe and explicitly asked the staff if it was okay to work there from 12 to 6 next day, needing just an outlet and the ability to order food and drinks. The staff assured me it wouldn't be a problem due to the cafe's low occupancy at that time, so I booked a room for the night.

The next day, I settled on the terrace as suggested by cafe staff and started working. However, at 4:00 pm, a security guard came to me, interrupting an important call, and loudly demanded to know who had authorized me to work there. Despite my attempts to explain the prior arrangement with the cafe staff, he insisted that such decisions were beyond their authority and demanded I pay a fee for 'renting' the space.

When I asked why the staff had allowed me to work if they couldn't make such decisions and hadn't checked with anyone senior, he disregarded this argument. Despite asking to speak with a manager, the guard delayed and was unhelpful. It's worth mentioning that during the entire day I was in the cafe, there wasn't a single customer.

To my dismay, I was kicked out of the cafe in the middle of the call without the chance to collect the food I had already paid for and hadn't eaten yet.

This incident was highly unprofessional and upsetting, especially as a frequent traveler. I hope the management takes note of this review and addresses the behavior of their security staff to prevent similar misunderstandings for future guests.
If this is the norm for this place, I recommend avoiding it.

Pretty awful experience. Rooms are extremely noisy with late night music from the restaurant. Staff cannot speak English and are not responsive when you complain about being kept awake by all the noise. Breakfast doesn't start till 0830 even though we were told 0800. Also, no lighting in the hallways makes it a pretty foreboding place. Location is not bad though.

Terrible hotel. Poorest service you can imagine, staff doesn't speak English (ZERO!), totally overpriced, worst food I had in the country, worst breakfast in a dirty dinning room with dirt from the previous night party!!! Bad cocktails!! It was so loud in the night, felt like sleeping in a discoteque on the dancefloor. Room door broke, staff was overwhelmed with situation. This hotel is maybe a garden hut but not a garden palace. Shame!
