Superb location on the Franco-German border close to Strasbourg. The service was warm and welcoming; however, the experience was marred by some aging and broken equipment.

Somewhere to stay when the hotels in Strasbourg are too expensive or unavailable. Great tram and rail link from directly outside the hotel. Area of Kehl is a bit grim and car dependent but the hotel is fine, clean and well equipped, with automated check-in and out procedures (a bit finicky but worked in the end). A shopping mall nearby. Didn't interact with staff at all as we arrived late and left early.

Really clean room, the easiest thing about transportation and an amazing breakfast spread. Also the staff was really nice.

Not in the central of Strasbourg but there’s a direct tram that takes you straight to the hotel after about a 2 mins walk. May not be the fanciest but just what I needed for a good night’s rest. Overall for this price, worth the stay!

The hotel is at a very convenient location both close to Kehl town center and the border to France. The tram station is just outside the hotel front entrance which can take the Tram Route D to visit Strasbourg. Highly recommended for people traveling in Germany but would like to have a day trip to Strasbourg.

Easy to Strasburg.

Good base for visiting Strasbourg.
Enjoyed our stay at the Ates Hotel. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Room was also very quiet, with window shutters that blocked all the light, so slept well. Breakfast was good, with plenty to choose from. Service upon arrival and during stay was excellent. Hotel parking was ok and parked without issue.
Used as a base to visit Strasbourg. There is a tram stop just across the road from hotel with trams running constantly to and from Strasbourg. The hotel reception sells tram passes that are great value.

The good :
The hotel is very close to local public transport both trains and buses. Also close to several restaurants and Coffee shops.
The breakfast was good with a variety of options to get you ready to start the day.
Size of the room was adequate and the bed comfortable with clean sheets.
The bad :
Mainly two things ,
1. The parking area is only available for a very few cars but they advised us to use the train station free parking across the street.
2. We reported a foul odor coming from the bathroom but they couldn't accommodate a room change and addressed the issue with only a fragance spray. We were not happy with this .
