We were here for a wedding. We didn't stay in the hotel but ate in both the bar and restaurant area. The staff were very friendly, the facilities excellent. The food is quite expensive, which is to be expected in such an establishment.

After a blustery September walk along the beach with our dog, we enjoyed a good cocktail on the terrace, served by a very nice and professional bartender. Bar looked very smart and cosy. The large patio must be a lovely place for a sundowner in summer.

Despite facing the same staffing issues most establishments face, the service is still top par. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. Our waiter Denis each evening treated us like family. The beach is great, and again, the staff who sort out your seating and serve snacks and drinks are pleasant. Sunsets are unbeatable! Prices reasonable. I find for the price level the food and accommodation are great value and it is a welcome environment to relax. However, I was really surprised at a few things given it recently jumped from 4 to 5 stars and remodelled. One, the morning breakfast was significantly lower quality than before. It was still satisfying however, but not a jump from 4 to 5 stars. Second, while the hotel cannot exactly control it, we experienced a few other guests who were really entitled and rude. One example was leaving their pre teen children unattended at the pool, and worse, at the bar in the evening. We like that we can visit this hotel with family and friends with kids. We enjoyed mingling with other guests (who were responsible parents and minded their kids) at the bar, and they felt the same way. Family inclusive doesn't mean it is the staff and other guests job to watch your kids, particular in the bar in the evening. One night the bar was occupied by a bunch of kids who were monopolising the bartenders time , as they sat on all the bar stools. An adult should not have to wait 10 mins to order a drink at a bar in the evening, because a group of unattended 8 to 10 year olds have been dropped off in the bar unattended. Certainly not a 5 star hotel. There is an adults version next door so we might explore that, but we enjoy the family relaxed vibe at Strandhotel overall.

Its not a 5* hotel.
The hotel is nice, but not premium.
Plus points: location near beach, gym, sauna, clean.
Feedback to consider: far too expensive. Breakfast quite basic. There is nothing special offered. I asked for fresh milk - they didnt have any, only H-milk. Coffee was not good. Eggs were only availble hard-boiled.
The ladys at breakfast really nice.
Burger at dinner good.
Horrible experience twice at reception. Upon check-in I was asked to pay reservation in full in advance, because they didnt trust me. I paid via *******, so reservation was already covered. Then same at checkout - we had an outstanding amount of about 50 EUR. I wanted to pay via AMEX - not possible. Unacceptable in a 5* hotel. So I asked to pay via direct bank transfer. Again the lady (same woman) didnt trust me and said I should find another way. So I phoned my husband, but he had already gone out to golf and would be back in 1 hour. I told her I would be back in 1 hour to pay. She didnt accept and asked me after all to do the bank transfer. The whole experience was horrible, once transfer was done, she did not even say once "thank you and sorry for the inconvenience, I hope you had a nice stay, please come again, have a safe trip back home". She left us leaving this trip with a horrible impression. Like I said, not 5* service and quality, which should be premium. In the end it’s all about how you are being treated that leaves an impression.

The food was nice expect for the steak. It was tough and was so salty. But other from that it is a good hotel.

We had a really fabulous dinner in the gourmet restaurant on the 4th floor, dramatic sunset view included. The menu was excellent, creative cooking accompanied by very good wines. The service was perfect and very friendly. Highly recommended place for a holiday highlight and well worth the price.

Friendly stuff. They let me use their fitness center although I'm not a hotel guest. Suggestion: Keep it clean by keeping the sand out.
