Mercure Hotel Aachen am Dom, Aachen1 / 21

Aachen, Peterstr. 1 (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Friendly reception. Spacious room. Locates in center of town.
Nice rooms, good breakfast, perfect location and very friendly staff!
Parking garage is 50 meters away, a bit noisy because of thin walls, but over all quite ok
Always friendly staff, location is excellent, breakfast is decent and varied. Rooms are spacious enough, with the rare option to have a patio to sit outside.
Enjoyed the stay. The staff are remarkably friendly and helpful. The location is central. Breakfast was satisfactory. Rooms are cosy
The room was clean and quiet. The Hotel is located in the middle of the city and honestly it's very cheap! The only issue was that the mattress was rather uncomfortable.

Relatively recent hotel within reasonable distance of the old center. Facilities ok, but shower floor had permanent stains and cracks. Breakfast is the most challenging part. Too crowded both for the number of seats, but also resulting in long wait times for coffee and everything else.
Up to expectation. Clean, quiet and easy to park the car. We parked in the neighborhood for free. They didn't receive the remark of room requirement I added on this website but was quickly solved! Good service, thank you!
Good location with car or bus. Unfortunately the TV channels went away when we tried to use an app. No water in room. Reception was nice.
Nice quaint hotel. Quiet and relaxing. Tasteful interior. Convenient place to visit the Aachen centrum.
Room is clean and breakfast is nice. Price is quite fair with such facility. Just towel is a bit old. Definitely, I will come back for my next business trip in Aachen.
At 9:00am, someone opened my room door. I immediately called the front desk and checked who it was, but they did not call back. As I called the front desk one more time, they said it was house keeping staff. But I put up a "Do Not Disturb" sign and even more, they did not knock on the door. I talked to the hotel manager and the housekeeping staff went for a direct apology. Instead of apologies, the...

Breakfast was great. Location is perfect, next to the city centre. The room was clean and comfortable.
We stayed for a night in this hotel. As a turist I didnt feel foreign. Everything was clean and decorations were good. I met with Eli and Neli, the girls work in the hotel. Enjoyed their company and energy. I recommend this place, thanks.
I stayed here for one night last week and everything was fine. I felt the room, service and breakfast was more than adequate for what I paid. It is a simple but decent hotel. Indeed the room was very warm when I entered, but it seemed to be the heat from the days before lingering inside the building. I put the fan in front of the open window and let it blow cool air from outside inside for several...
For the price (at my visit 61€/night) hotel was excellent! Rooms are clean and in good condition. Breakfast was small, but everything tasted good. Staff is not always around, but that was not an issue. I checked in fastly from the automated system outside. That's where you get your room key as well. Location is not so bad - 1,3km from old town. On the other hand you have very nice spa close and from...
We stayed for three nights, found getting our room key card and access easy. Our room was clean, tidy and cosy. Breakfast gave a nice selection Parking is a bit of a problem, we parked at Blücherplatz just a 5 /10 minute walk away €5 a night, it looks a bit dodgy but in fact safe enough and the ticket machine has a English button but note it doesn't accept card only cash ( or down load a app) The...
When I stay over in Aachen, I come to this hotel. It's small, quiet. The personnel is super friendly. It's walking distance from the city center. There are a lot of restaurants around. They have a very convenient parking.

Quality to price, the hotel was perfect. We needed something close to the train station with easy access to downtown. The room was clean with plenty of room for two people. The staff could speak English and were very friendly and helpful. We chose the breakfast option and just about everything you would expect from a buffet was available. We highly recommend the hotel, especially if you are on a budget
It's close to Aachen Central Station, so it's very accessible! It's also very clean and reasonably priced, so I highly recommend it!
The front desk staff were very welcoming, the hotel was a lovely modern/chic and the room although a tad small by Canadian standards was extremely comfortable. The only little hiccup, is that I never figured out how to get the ventilation to recirculate the air in the room. Otherwise the overall experience was marvelous.
There is no kettle, but you can get lemonade in the lobby

Very bare bones accommodation. Expensive for what it was. Internet didn't work in the room. Had to make up our own beds and bring linen down at the end of our stay. Breakfast was good continental style.
Friendly hostel Very spacious room (for 4 people, but there were 2 of us), simply furnished, located on the ground floor. Bathroom accessible to disabled people (unrequested), so toilet and shower are in the same place (which is not the case in standard rooms). No soap or cups. Breakfast included in the price: quite comprehensive but different depending on the day (with or without eggs, etc.) but only...
Beautiful youth hostel on the outskirts of town, surrounded by greenery. The staff is extremely friendly, competent, and accommodating. The clean room is spacious and very quiet. The breakfast is delicious and leaves nothing to be desired. The bus stop is a 4-minute walk away.
Anyone booking an overnight stay at a youth hostel should be aware that it's a youth hostel. So, don't expect a spa, a king-size bed, or a TV in your room. However, it's a reasonably priced place to stay, and relatively quiet. One thing to keep in mind is that you need to bring your own bed linen and be able to change it. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, the service friendly, and I'd be happy...
The breakfast was more than what I expected. Very recommended. See you there / see you then.
Beautifully furnished room. The highlight was the bunk bed hidden behind sliding doors. The kids loved it. They said it was like being in a hotel. The sinks, etc., were clean, and there were two of them. We were even asked in the morning if our bathroom needed cleaning. The downside is the non-working Wi-Fi and the broken TV in the games room and common room. (That reminds you that you're in Germany...

Centrally located Aachen hotel with many wonderful conveniences. Breakfast buffet was delicious and offered cooked to order eggs. Great beers on offer in the lobby too. Overall excellent property.
Average hotel. Parking is very inconvenient if you didn’t reserve a space, which I didn’t and can’t recall seeing that option on the website. We had to park two blocks from the hotel, which is located on a busy street making it very inconvenient to unload luggage. We schlepped our two large suitcases those two blocks. Hotel overall is ok. Nothing to get excited about and nothing to overly criticize...
Just ok, location the bonus. No parking at Hotel, but a block away. Location to city center was great, a 6 min walk. Room location was interesting, up the elevator, outdoors across a steel walkway, inside and down a step to room? the bathroom was very small. you had to go around the sink to sit on toilet. Very strange. Hotel staff, friendly and helpful. Breakfast is cold, typical European style.
Overall the stay was fine. The room is very small as you should expect in the city and electric outlets are located in inconvenient places. Parking overnight was an additional 35 euros.
Lovely welcoming place Lovely little hotel handy for everywhere in Aachen, only thing missing was air conditioning as the summer heat was unbearable
No free parking - room a bit small but did the job

Very nice place to stay ! Pleasant staff and nice rooms. Very calm in the garden side.
Perfect stay. I was late and they were very kind to accommodate me. I wish I could’ve enjoyed my stay longer, but my schedule was full. The front door is locked with a buzzer, so it felt very safe for solo female traveler. They held my luggage after checkout. Great complimentary coffee. I definitely recommend this hotel!
Room was clean and staff was nice, but I stayed at the hotel for three nights and once the elevator didn't work (no problem), but twice the shower only had lukewarm water (not comfortable) and the AC had mold on it.
we weren’t expecting such a big room, clean and quiet, 10 min walk from the city centre with a few restaurants nearby (very convenient), the staff is friendly and helped us every time :)
+ good air-conditioning, comfortable, friendly accommodating staff, free hot drinks, quiet rooms, location - no net curtains only full black out curtains, so you can only choose complete darkness or daylight and people looking into your room / bed
The room was small but very clean. The main issue was that there was nothing that could compensate the lack of an AC unit during the warm days. The window opened was also not an option due to the noise coming from the street even during night hours.

The room was ok. They don’t make room every day. Not much of amenities around and running by some moody and unfriendly women. Most German are very friendly n warmed people but not at this hotel. Yesterday we went swimming in the dark without light, a young Asian girl came down to turn in the light. She didn’t apologize at all for the inconvenience and instead she was yelling n screaming at me about...
It’s conveniently located, near the highway but close enough to the old town. It’s a little dated but nice enough and clean. quiet neighborhood and parking available right in front. The parking is on a steep hill which was a bit of a challenge for us, but our car has lower ground clearance than most.
Loved this hotel, it's really great the staff were so helpful, polite and gave great information when requested, rooms were clean, beds were soft and comfortable.
We had a nice stay at the Art hotel. The room was lovely and very nice breakfast. The beds were very comfortable and a really nice bathroom. However, what stood out were the staff. We had some car issues and they really went out of their way to help us get this sorted. It was really so appreciated to have this support and help when travelling in a different country to home. I cannot recommend this...

the bathrooms are very clean and the single rooms are quite neat, there is a safe for valuables also in the closet
Very nice hotel. Very good breakfast. Only about 5 minutes to walk to the dom, town hall and treasury. And about 10 minutes to the shopping centre. The reason why I only gave it 4 stars is: the Wi-Fi wasn't working in our room. If you are reliant on it, it can be very frustrating. But the gentleman said he would look into it.
Very nice rooms, central position and friendly staff!
The Hotel has a perfect location. It is just next to the downtown (altstadt). The breakfast is very good as well. The internet connection could be better. If u depends on internet, I recommend to choose another hotel.
The rooms may look a bit outdated, but everything is in order. The service is very good and so is the breakfast. Would recommend.
If you accept the shoddy 80s interior and thin walls, the stay is pleasant. Very polite staff. Close to the center an train station. Not worth 81 EUR including breakfast, though.

Nice apartment - could do with a refresh on the condition of the suite but clean and good value. Very nice host. Walkable to Aachen Dom & old city. Plenty of good restaurants in town and great breakfast spots nearby. Very close to the thermal baths. Overall 8.5 out of 10.
"I'll be back!" as he said! Hyggelig mottakelse, fantastisk god seng, rent, delikat frokost, fin beliggenhet i forhold til mitt behov!
A bit of a walk from the train station, but only 10-15 mins to the center. I stayed in a single room right behind reception and the dining area, surprisingly quiet despite the location and being near the road. One receptionist was super chatty with other guests, so I had to wait a bit to get my luggage back. Room had a fridge, but I wish there was a kettle too. Overall, decent stay.
Small but friendly and clean hotel, rooms to the back are quiet, windows open for fresh air. I had a single room and struggled to fit on the mattress which seemed to be rather short. Not a problem for people under 190 cm. Nice pillow. Okay water pressure in the shower.
Perfectly situated for an event at the Eurogress conference centre. Everything was clean and tidy. Small, but modernised bathrooms. The highlight was the breakfast, that was much better than equivalent hotels in this category. Good breakfast selection, presented with love.
My booking and communications experience with this hotel & its team was great. But their services & empathy really stood out. I had to cancel a trip, a day before my arrival. The bookings team immediately reassured me that they do utmost to resell the rooms, and if successful, refund the booking costs to me. They did so, on one of the busiest weekends, and I earnestly appreciate their efforts.

Very clean hotel located very close to RWTH Aachen. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is decent. A perfect value-for-money choice if you are visiting RWTH Aachen.
A convenient hotel to stay for the visit of RWTH Aachen University. 5min walk to the campus and 30 min walk to the main train station. The service of the hotel is acceptable. The single room had is rather old fashioned and small. The tap in the wash room is loosened. The towel smells not very fresh. Comfort of the bed is not so good. There is a lift in the hotel even though it is located in an old...
The price is pretty high, but the stay was good. Probably could benefit from a fridge and a tiny teapot. The breakfast usually had no eggs, they were all gone.
The first morning breakfast options were replenished when consumed. The second morning, bread, cheese, and meat were not replenished during the 30 minutes we spent at breakfast. The young man working the breakfast bar was quite friendly nevertheless.
Beautiful room with a lovely garden view. The easiest check-in I have ever had. Breakfast was nice and free. Great location.
I believe Hotel Baccara is the best place to stay in Aachen. Kind, helpful and friendly staff will always be there for you, and the hotel offers delicious breakfast and great coffee. The rooms are quite clean, spacious and modern. TV and Wifi come with the room and it improves the quality of the time you spend in the room. They also have a comprehensive menu for dinner which they serve until 9pm. Very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast buffet is great, with lots of choice and delicious bread rolls.
Nice size room. Clean and well placed
Big clean rooms, quiet locality, swimming pool, and reasonable prices. Some of the rooms are located on the lower floors of an apartment complex. No complaints.
I've visited the hotel over many years and being part of a retirement house doesn't detract from the quality service. The room are always in good condition and always clean. Beautiful setting, admirable menu, super sevice from the waiters who are very friendly and attentive! My favorite is their French Onion Soup, and there is great salad bar.
Situated just outside City with Park & Ride a few minutes walk with very frequent bus service into the City centre. Made very welcome on arrival and directed to pleasant, spacious room. The restaurant was good for our evening meal and a good breakfast provided.
Decent hotel that has seen better days. A bit pricy for the location in my opinion, but as breakfast was included I guess it was fair.
This hotel is exceptionally clean. Room is nice and big. The only con is the smell. There’s a very strong smell of soap on the hallway and in the room. But after two days your nose kind of get used to it. Breakfast is included, offering a good and healthy selection of food. The restaurant is always busy but waiters are plenty. Worth noting: no one wears mask now. A few minutes walk away, there is a...

Excellent location and great value for money The hotel’s location is exceptional, right in the city center and next to the Christmas markets. Great location and spacious room
The hotel has a wonderful location. The room was spacious. All good Checkin was a nightmare. There was no staff. When I buzzed, I got someone who said to phone or check my email. I did not have access to my phone, making it impossible to get in. I was rescued by a tour guide so was able to get in eventually
This hotel is in the central square of the old town, so conveniently located for the cathedral, cafes (cake and ice-cream!) and restaurants. It is a short bus ride from the main train station. The rooms are large, well furnished and serviced daily. The reception is only covered in the morning at present, but instructions were sent saying how to access the key. It is worth having a pen handing to press...
Location is great. room size good although quite basic (though clean). First impression was Let down by having to walk up 3 flights of stairs and the red carpet needs to be replaced. In the absence of a lift the staff insisted they carried our cases down the stairs as we left the next morning.
Great spot. Sort of a self serve hotel. Staff there each morning to clean and restock. Very nice people. Just don't expect to go down there in the afternoon or evening for a extra roll of toilet paper. The room was great. Very clean, room to spread out. Perfectly locAted. Walk to everything.

I stayed for two nights in August 2025. I'm quite satisfied with my stay. But I'm a type of person who needs a clean place to sleep and that's it. I spend my days outside exploring the city so in this regard this place was perfect for me. It's only a 25 minutes walk away from the city hall. The people at this hotel are very friendly and the quality of the bed is good. Upon arrival it took some time for someone to welcome us and the room we had wasn't entirely clean (hair in bed) and fixed (some broken lamps), but the manager offered us another room or clean sheets so we could at least sleep feeling like the room was clean. I did expect somewhat better overall value for what we had to...
Everything was as expected. The family room that we booked (3 adults, 1 child) was very clean but on the main road so we had to sleep with the window shut. The beds were very creeky every time someone moved in bed. The coffee and tea making facilities in the bedroom lacked substance. The breakfast was great.
First of all, the location is fairly close to the motorway. The rooms were very nice; heating was good, beds were comfortable. The staff were kind. But most importantly: the breakfast was AMAZING.
