Hotel-Restaurant Frohlich in Kaiserslautern

We can’t say enough about this hotel. We have stayed here several times over the past few years and it continues to impress. The staff could not be more accommodating or friendly, whether you are in the restaurant or hotel. We would stop by just for dinner. It’s family run, and the care and cleanliness make it one of the best places to stay in the area. It’s quiet and is close to wooded trails and local attractions.

We requested 2 single beds as travelling with my son. When got our room there was a double bed with 2 duvets. We asked about 2 single beds and was told it was a bed for 2 people! Also bad planning on my behalf booking a hotel in Germany on the opening night of the euro's. Especially as Germany won, it was loud until around midnight. Breakfast was ok

Beautiful hotel and restaurant. Close to k-town and surrounding area.

Quiet and clean . Off the beaten path. Not close to anything had to take taxi . 25 euros each way.

This is a beautiful hotel with a wonderful staff and lovely rooms. The breakfast buffet is also awesome! This is one of the best hotels we have stayed at in all of Germany. We had great stay and will be coming back here anytime we are in the area.

This is tucked away from the hustle and bustle. We went here for dinner and the restaurant was very clean and the hostess was welcoming. Our service was great. One person had the fish which was really good and fresh, the steak was done exactly right. Finished with fresh made sorbet. Nice relaxing dinner.

This place was ten miles east of our town and we selected it randomly. Overall our stay was surprisingly good. Our very clean double room on the 2nd floor was ok but we had an end unit and lots of street noise. No air conditioner or fan so it was a trade off between noise and fresh air. Luckily we had cool breezes even in late July 2023. I would suggest this nice family owned place add ceiling fans at the least. An upgrade to air conditioning down the road is likely. A coffee pot and a frig would be welcome too. We brought our mini 12v/220v frig just in case to keep the beverages cold. There were no glasses in our room but we got them from the downstairs bar. The breakfast was traditional and unremarkable. A nice choice offered included eggs to order. The cheese omelet was good. Inside was a ground floor restaurant but we did not try it. Outside around back was a terrace restaurant with waiters. We did not try that either. Now let's talk about the really good stuff. The BIERGARTEN! It is downstairs from the terrace. We had never heard of this place and we are glad we tried it. What a surprise. I have never seen it on any Biergarten lists in the area but this place should definitely be on it. What a gem. Plenty of large heavy picnic-style tables (12 or more?) and benches with cushions too with seating under trees and lights. This is Gemütlichkeit. There was a nice mixture of German and American families out to have a good time and we did. The bar was tended by three lads who were happy to pour your drinks and place your food orders. The prices were right (lower than we expected) and the portions and flavors were spot on! This is now on the top of our list to bring family and friends to just for the Biergarten!! Zum Wohl!
