Saar Galerie in Saarburg

What a great hotel the Saargalerie in Saarburg was. This is the 5th time we’ve booked there.

After camping in Saarburg for 15 years, we thought we had found it. A sense of home. After this holiday at Saargalerie, that is completely gone.
Wrong room, the family next to us was too, and on the other side, a gay gang bang.
It was so violent that parts of the curtain rails came down.
That happens in your first deep sleep. Heart rate 200 and the reception phone number outside on the front door. No emergency number available and no night porter. The reception was unmanned the next day. We complained to the lady at breakfast service.
At 10:00 AM, the manager arrived.

It turned out to be Mrs. Russo, the owner...

What a rude lady.
In a raised voice, we were told that we just had to move to another room.

We were not the problem, and we refused. Eventually, the person responsible was spoken to and moved.

The family next to us, also in the wrong room, had already left.

The hotel is dirty: mold in the shower, on the showerhead, dirty floor, a crack in the toilet bowl, etc.

However, the breakfast is amazing.
These breakfast ladies work their fingers to the bone for the customer.
NEVER AGAIN HOTEL SAARGALERIE OF MR. AND MRS. RUSSO!
WHAT A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT AND NOT A SINGLE EXCUSE! DEEPLY SAD.

I have no idea if the hotel is responsible for this, BUT: The entrance doors on the ground floor, as well as in the basement (Wasgau), are very often simply closed. You always have to walk all the way around the building and/or then go through Wasgau again to enter the building. This is incredibly annoying if you have appointments in the building.

Wasgau isn't the only shop/service provider that's still open in the evening, for example, at 6:00 PM.

It's just so frustrating!

Have been traveling through the area for about a week. Saar Galerie was unfortunately both the most expensive and also least welcoming hotel of the lot. Rooms are outdated and the hotel lacks atmosphere. We paid 95 euro for a night and an additional 10 euro to park our car. Thankfully a (warm) bottle of water was waiting for us in our room. Oh wait, they'll charge an extra 3 euro for that.. A positive note: the recepcionist was very friendly and helpful.
