I stayed at this hotel recently and, while the property itself was clean and offered plenty of room, my overall experience was disappointing. I accidentally booked two hotels for the same night and reached out right away to switch my reservation to a different day. Unfortunately, the hotel refused to refund or adjust the booking in any way, even though I contacted them promptly. The hotel has recently changed management. The old-fashioned German bourgeois atmosphere has given way to something more hip, in keeping with the surrounding hip neighborhood. There are many interesting restaurants and stores within a short radius of the hotel. It is just a few stops by tram from the Neustadt train station, or the historic center of Dresden, on the other side of the Elbe. The hotel's neighborhood didn't sustain damage in the notorious bombing of 1945, so it gives the appearance and feeling of old Dresden. Despite the hip decor,somewhat jarring to an older tourist, this is a convenient, comfortable and welcoming place to stay, that provides excellent value for the money. The hotel is on a street that has a tram line, so ask for a room facing the back, or one of the garden, motel-like units behind the main building. This hotel used to have the most amazing buffet breakfast I have ever seen; unfortunately that is a thing of the past, but the breatkfast is still above average, fresh and of good quality. The staff is unusually friendly and welcoming, though their English skills are not of the best.

Very clean, comfortable and big rooms. There is even a small kitchen that you can cook in the room I stayed. Staff is also friendly and helpful. Location is very central, there are nice cafes and bars around.

Cute and stylish rooms (with a very nice balcony if you’re lucky enough) and amazing breakfast. Although it was kind of pricy, all the food was delicious and the made to order eggs were a nice touch!
However: the bathroom was VERY small and outdated, the toilet flush barely worked and one of the lights was broken. Mattress and pillows were a little uncomfy for my taste (too firm) and unfortunately the wifi didn’t work while we were staying. Cleanliness could’ve been a bit better too :)

I slept there today (with breakfast) for a night and want to share my views:

First things first: the breakfast is a charm. Handmade / fresh and not the usual obvious readymade stuff on a buffet. Coffee specials cost extra...but scrambled eggs with bacon fresh from the pan are aincluded :)

The WLAN was not working in the rooms - the seem to get that fixed soon (05.09.2021)

Secondly the interiors:
It is obvious that the owners changed not long ago and the house is still in a state of change. The former hotel seems to be renovated in the 90s...and there is instill breath of that time everywhere.

The pictures of the lounge/breakfast room suggest a slightly 'design hotel' feel.
The atmosphere there is indeed sympathetic and cosy.

Unfortunately you cannot change a hotel completely from the grounds up - so my room in the backyard House felt a bit retro.
Although the furniture is new and the paint is fresh - the bathroom tiles and overall lighting does not live Up to the expectations of the boutique hotel flair.

The Hotel Rothenburgerhof is a quite small hotel in Dresden Neustadt. It has a wellness area which is very relaxing. The rooms are ok, the beds are so so (a bit to hard for me). The breakfest is very good and you can choose between lots of things to eat.

This place way below expectations. It's very old and dull. Rooms smell very strange. There's no parking and narrow access to the lobby via stairs. It isn't worth the price.
